he knew tails was bad luck!

while he doesn't want to believe in abstract beliefs like luck, he'll bite for the immersion. it was father winter's thing, after all. that, and the only factor in games that should be considered is fun.

the only other way to get over luck is actual work though. there was only one action to mend the unlikely results of the coin flip within the choices, of which kyle decides to click on it.

❤️ Bend down to try and fish the coin through the sewer grate somehow.

You bend down to the sewer grate and the dirty cold concrete. Even without looking, you can feel the mysterious man's smile behind you. "Dirtying your knees for me? How kind."[break][break]

When you peer into the sewer grate, you try to spot the coin. Curiously, the moonlight does not pierce down to the bottom of the dry hole. You can only see black. Endless black. You can hear the mysterious man's steps coming closer behind you.[break][break]

He taps your shoulder, prompting you to face him. "Can't find it yet? Look closer."[break][break]

When you turn back to the drain, you discover that the grate is gone. Suddenly, you feel their hands push against your back. You fall into the sewer, into the endless black abyss. However, instead of the cold pit of a dried sewage passage, you hit the warm ground of what appears to be a jungle.[break][break]

It's searingly hot. The sunlight is intense here. Looming ahead is what appears to be Mt. Chimney, though the foliage around you seems much more massive and much more overgrown to be your ordinary Hoenn. An UNOWN-D soars around your head and your gaze follows it as it returns to its owner: the mysterious man in the alleyway who now stands before you with the smuggest of smiles.[break][break]

"Welcome to Universe 491... Sorry for the rude turn of events. I just couldn't help myself around you!" The mysterious man says. "I've been watching you for a long time... and admired you from afar. Now, I can get to know you more... personally. And how lucky are we that we've landed in Land Hoenn for our first date? No Draconid in sight. Just you and me. Together." [break][break]

As you stare back at him in this expansive continent, how will you behave?

To think that she'd just tried to be helpful, only for Father Winter to push her down the sewer and into the unfamiliar landscape of Land Hoenn... And now he had the gall to call this a date? Ah, hello déjà vu, my old friend.

It was kind of like this the first time they'd crossed paths. Only back then Angelo had won the coin flip toss and the world in which he'd been forced into had been a lot less... volcanic.

It didn't have a smarmy asshole accompanying him, either.

Should he strike him...?

It had been a long, hard day of playing Otome phone games on the couch with his husband. At some point Temp had tucked his head against the other's shoulder and dozed off. When roused him he felt sticky and hot from the quick nap, grumbling and bleary.[break][break]

Idly he groped for whatever dog had barked, sinking his fingers into the fur of the closest one to pet.[break][break]

he wonders what happened to them. what fate befell them without their titan.

The text made a shiver run down her spine. While the environment would have been a beautiful thing to explore under normal circumstances, it was chilling now.

She had run into this man's type before. She remembered someone whispering honeyed words with that intent. The fact that they were alone did not bode well for either of them.

Obviously, physical attack was not her first choice. She did know self defense (thanks to her husband's insistence), but such actions would only escalate the situation. Angrily questioning him was nto likely to help either. She knew he'd brought her here. The way was not likely to be pleasant.

And flirting, well, she was worse at that than fighting.

Foul. Rude. Ugh. Eva rolls her eyes at the context of the dialogue multiple times, shaking off a sticky sense of disgust despite this just being a virtual Father Winter, but with The Cloud in existence, how could they even know?

Disgust is quickly replaced with unease. They find themselves in a Hoenn with no Rayquaza or Kyogre – that is clear. The sense of equilibrium lost is overwhelming and it make the Peacemaker tense. She shifts in her seat beneath the blanket on the couch, glancing curiously over at , wondering if he is playing the same game.

Naturally, Eva is quite unhappy with even just the implication that her patron didn’t exist in Universe 491 so she chooses the only reasonable action.
