ARRIVAL

EARLY JUNE, ANCIENT TOMB, ROUTE 120. The sun hangs low in the sky, drawing in the heavy, sombre orange hues of a Hoenn sunset. At the edges of its seemingly endless canvas, the sky begins to darken. The golden colours seem to fall into the descending beacon, like a drain threatening to suck the world of all its glow and color.[break][break]

Each faction has given direction to its officials. Civilians are advised to stay away for their safety, but those of heroic or naive hearts may find themselves disobeying:
"subdue both of the galarian dogs and their creatures of ruin at all costs. leaving the matters of an incoming calamity in the league's incapable hands will undoubtedly lead to sure disaster. that is why we must procure them for our use."

"protect the dogs and prevent team rocket from seizing them for their own devices. team rocket may very well aim to seek the pokemon of ruin as well. if an opportunity presents itself to destroy the hostile ruinous pokemon, do so without hesitation."

By the time you arrive by the ANCIENT TOMB, the ZAMAZENTA & ZACIAN have been fighting for some time. Their armored bodies, battered and worn by the scars and gashes of their battle, refuse to falter. Around them, boulders and rock formations that surround the ANCIENT TOMB have been damaged or entirely obliterated due to their battle with ruin.[break][break]

Those who have encountered digital manifestations of these heroes in CYBERCHASE CONUNDRUM would recognize them; others may surmise these are indeed Galarian legends, ones so endlessly shrouded in the foggy weave of myth and mystery. [break][break]

Yet, the events of THE DARKEST DAY IN GALAR ALMOST ONE YEAR AGO may have sabotaged their strength. After all, the foes they face are powerful creatures, rejuvenated from being sealed for epochs.[break][break]

THIS GROUP IS CLOSEST TO CHIEN-PAO. Though none of you may know its name, some of you may recognize it to be the feline creature featured in RONDEZ-VIEW OF LUV: DAHLIA GOODE'S CO-OP ROUTE. Its digital iteration does it no justice.[break][break]

Curiously, Elisabeth Fiorelli's WO-CHIEN, should it be on the field or offer any guidance to its avatar, would convey full encouragement... of taking its sibling down...[break][break]

The CHIEN-PAO exudes an ominous aura. One that chills the air as if to hang death upon its invisible currents. Its fast and lithe. With sinuous shape, the feline clashes against the ZAMAZENTA'S SHIELD with its sharp fangs: a broken blade that juts out from its jaws.[break][break]

The constant collision of shield against sword betrays the cacophony of war. Though the ZAMAZENTA is stubborn, the golden shield it bears on its breast begins to fleck off. When the metal particulate falls across the battle-torn ground, they are devoid of color however... instead, they fall as BLACK FRAGMENTS.

DISASTER

THE ZAMAZENTA SEEMS TO BE PREVENTING THE CHIEN-PAO from advancing toward ZACIAN AND ACCESSING THE ANCIENT TOMB. The canine appears to be an unstoppable barrier—but with your assistance, perhaps you will be able to turn the tide of battle.[break][break]

The sheer number of trainers may allow you to bypass these powerful Pokemon to reach the mouth of the ANCIENT TOMB, while others may be able to find opportunities to land a decisive strike on the CHIEN-PAO or even, the ZAMAZENTA...[break][break]

Akira could not begin to describe how much she did not want to be here. After the whole caves incident, she had little to any interest doing anything even remotely related to physical activity- let alone anything dangerous. She barely got out of those stupid caves alive... Akira found it wise to travel among a group of individuals, most of which she didn't really know. Hopefully any of them had some semblance of use...[break][break]

The sound of rumbling would draw her attention to an incoming avalanche, causing a series of curses and annoyed noises to escape the woman. "....This has to be a joke, we just got here!" Akira exclaimed.[break][break]

Knowing that she couldn't do anything to shield herself from the avalanche by herself, she figured with a group effort they could put some form of defense against the avalanche...[break][break]

The sounds of metal against metal was music to the raven haired woman’s ears. A broad smirk spread across her deep red glossy lips, green orbs filled with exhilaration of what she was about to do. At this point, authority figures telling Hideo to stay away because of a dangerous situation was an open invitation for him to do the exact opposite. Even if he was a member of the League now, they didn't send him the invitation to go help, and he didn't want to stand by while Hoenn was at risk.

Or maybe they did and it just didn't get to him.

Either way, he was here now, the sounds of dog-on-feline violence hard to miss. His Beheeyem informed him the shield-dog was a familiar Pokemon, the boy's memories drifting back to the time they'd gone underwater…that Cyberchase incident, as he recalled. Where both the sword and the shield dogs attacked him and others, alongside Darkrai and Cresselia.

…

Well, those weren't the real dogs. This one was real, and he wasn't going to let that feline monster attack it any longer.

But first, he had to avoid getting caught in an Avalanche.

Hideo recalled his Beheeyem, having a decent-enough grasp on the situation. He let out his Magearna, the mechanical Pokemon eager to work. "Gearny, blast a hole straight through that attack! Aim straight for that icy cat!"

The Magearna nodded, a bright pink ball of energy appearing in front of it, the Fleur Cannon flying forth, aiming to blast a hole large enough to keep them out of the Avalanche - and to hit the Chien-Pao.

Okay so he wasn’t exactly sure what was going on. He had the league telling civilians to evacuate but he must have somehow got turned around. He had tried getting on his Zoroark sure he would be able to get around people easier but that had failed. He had only ended up getting pushed closer to the chaos he was trying to get away. Sure he might be a bit impulsive but knowing his sibling would be displeased he was caught up in something like this he had been trying to get away. Perhaps his sibling would believe him if they were don’t he got lost in the crowd and ended up in the chaos.

He guessed he was going in the right direction now though. So he could get away and pretend he hadn’t gotten mixed up in all of this. His sibling would be none the wiser unless this was being broadcast. He wasn’t sure if they were featuring what was going on on the news or not. Hopefully not. But knowing his luck his sibling would find out about this one way or another.

He was following after some people who he was sure were trying to escape when rocks started to fall towards them. ”Seriously you’ve got to be kidding me,” he muttered under his breath before raising his voice to address his Pokémon. ”Mirage use agility to get us away from the avalanche,” he commanded sharply. Not having to be told twice Mirage used agility to get them clear of the falling rocks moving them away from any further falling rocks.

Once clear Mirage turned his attention towards the fighting pokemon glaring at them. Apparently it didn’t take too kindly to Axel being put in harms with. With how protective the Zoroark was of his owner this probably wouldn’t bode well.

The assassin had been briefed before their arrival of what was expected from her. As PENELOPE LIVY 's entourage expanded, so did the safety measures regarding her person, even if a faint nagging feeling told her that the woman she saw now was no longer the helpless councilwoman who'd first employed her. She couldn't tell what it was exactly, just that her instincts warned her. But of what?

Something that made her less worried about leaving her behind on the field of battle, and to stalk forth on her own. Kyrenai had moved in from another side of the Ancient Tomb, finding herself far closer to the shield-bearing canine and the sword-fanged snowbeast than her charge. Her eyes were on the Zamazenta, large, proud, and battered, its shield chipped and shards of black littering the floor.

When her gaze falls upon the black fragments, she knows.

She knows she could fight and defend, or attack.

Or she could try and retrieve one of those fragments. At her own risk, most-likely.

Yet when she tries to advance, Chien-Pao's impending Avalanche threatens to blast her away entirely. Her options are limited but valid; she can use her pokémon and go over it, underneath it, stand her ground and seek cover...

Or go straight through it.

Jaci braces itself before its trainer, brimming to life as psychic energy starts building. It teeters on the edge of release until the Avalanche is moments away from the two, and then releases it, intent on breaking through the crushing snow.

Carried in the arms of a Nidoking was someone pretending to be human that was more interested in the Sword of Ruin that struck against the unstoppable barrier. [break][break]

Heavy feet pressed down on the dirt of route 120, rushing through what could only be considered a swarm of other trainers, having been directly ordered by those powers that be to subdue the Legendary Pokémon before the league could wrap them in their grasp.[break][break]

Rhydia couldn’t care less about the conflict, personally- or rather, the greater fallout of the conflict wasn’t one she cared about, whereas the moment itself was of the utmost importance. She wouldn’t get another chance like this to study a legendary Pokémon’s constitution ~~and corpse~~ so closely! It’s form was that of legends, the kind only ever spoken of in Galarian Myth! There were few existences even worth such chronicling in the history of all mankind![break][break]

’Oh how I want to see it! What shades of crimson come from such a legend?’ The alien world she calls a brain keeps her true feelings within her own mind, allowing little but that ‘ugly smile’ a certain Kouji Matsubara said she had leak out.[break][break]

Heeding her order, the Nidoking quickly smashed a fist into the ground in front of it, sending its will through the earth before attempting to make a space far ahead of itself and its trainer burst into a crevice for the Avalanche to fall deep into.[break][break]

He furrowed his brows as his gaze shifted between the beast and its combatant, and then towards the others nearby. With little time to waste and hesitate with, he tapped one of the Pokeballs upon his person, only sounding a sharp whistle to the bird that manifested from it while holding his arm towards it.[break][break]

They took flight immediately, all while the Stone, himself, searched the area a second time. The Avalanche made its way towards the wolf afar, and somewhat nearby, there seemed to be some sort of barrier from someone else. Another whistle and point down towards it, and the emblazoned avian would have lighted down long enough to set his trainer by John Sullivan and his Frosmoth. He lingered for just a moment before being prompted to soar into the fray by secondary whistle from his trainer, eyes locked upon the Chein-Pao as it ignited and released a shrieking, battle-ready cry, barreling towards it with a Flame Charge.[break][break]

”You with the League, kid?” he asked the young man by him, sparing him a sidelong glance between keeping a careful eye of his own Pokemon from behind the Wide Guard. ”What’s the situation?”[break][break]

Oliver didn't quite know how to feel about the order to kill the Ruinous Pokemon. He supposed if there was no other way. But he will do what he can to help either way. The red head rode on his signature Dragonite towards the ancient tomb along with others. And soon it became apparent that the fight had already begun. And Team Rocket was there. But almost immediately, they were accosted by an Avalanche, as someone's Salazzle sent a Flamethrower at Zamazenta's way. His Dragonite was not slow, and they were experienced in high stakes maneuvers. Weaving around the falling rocks and ice, Oliver and his Pokemon stopped in front of the incoming stream of fire.

"Hurricane." With a single, dramatic flap of his smol wings, a huge wind storm gusted out, attempting to blow the flames right back into the Avalanche or hopefully more. Two ruinous Pokemon were here it seemed...and he was ready to prove that legends can fall. All the while protecting one. Just a day in the life of a ranger he supposed...

It's sad when she can say disasters don't surprise her anymore. [break][break]

Though they can go a few months of normalcy, the gnawing anticipation of disaster looming across the horizon stops her from getting too comfortable. There's always something; let it be manmade or pokemon caused. In the end, there are casualties, and she'll never get used to the slew of familiar faces she'll find in the emergency room. [break][break]

The orders are simple; protect the familiar looking dog, and repel the.. oddly cute leopard. She shouldn't be thinking it's cute, as disastrous and fearsome the creature is, though maybe it's the little ears that twitch atop of its head that makes her fawn over it. [break][break]

Still, this is no time to be fawning over something that will, quite literally, cut through her with its icy glare. Her eyes gaze up to Leonidas Stone , who is already at the ready with his flaming bird. The fissures and cracks in the ground do thankfully make way, but Marisol, instead, takes her chances behind the WIDE GUARD set up. She's quick on her feet and, if she isn't, there's a flaming, purple set of armor to her side. [break][break]

When the snow dies, her eyes narrow at the sound of clashing against mental - though she finds it odd how the fragments that fall off are that of a pitch black. Was it corroding the shield? Oh, how dangerous that would be. Yet still, she couldn't go assessing the dangers. "Take a deep breath." She narrows her eyes to the CERULEDGE to her side. "Swap places, and keep your distance." [break][break]

The Ceruledge channels a deep violet, rushing in with the attempt to swap positions with the canine pokemon being attacked by the feline. Flaming blades flare, ready to take a step back from the dangerous pokemon's fangs and the incoming attacks.

this was bad.

he sees people appearing one by one before the legendary pokemon, league or otherwise, some of them bound to be connected to a legendary pokemon of their own. this was already a hot spot of anomalies, and should trends continue, a correction is bound to happen sooner or later.

"smeargle," he calls his pokemon as his eyes were stuck on the clash, "imprison." the champion stands away from conflict by instinct, the careful nature of his actions being picked up by his sygna suit.

CAREFUL
increases the accuracy of your pokemon; lowers its evasiveness

it's just a countermeasure just in case a few things worked, which they rarely do. drk triad. dialga. palkia. potency against legendary pokemon. the interference actually happening. those did affect the creation of the rifts back then, scrambling dimensions that lead to the chase for the seal stone.

a lot of "if"s needed to be checked even with the power of the sygna suit, but it ultimately was just a test for curiosity's sake. kyle assumes the worst and prepares for it, but in the end, it's just all assumptions.

it's a waste of action altogether, but compared to the other people present, he's not going to be the powerhouse to make a good opening act. he turns to MATIAS SILPH, who he has kept close to him to watch over.

"i think i'm overthinking things," he confesses to the elite four. "you can make it up for me, right? it's defending the tomb. can you help it with that?"

Bryan arrives and spots the pokemon his organization was interested in. It was strange looking, both of them, a dog with a shield for a face and a feline pokemon with swords for teeths. Jesus christ, this is what the region had come to? They were ordered to secure one of the pokemon...and upon the two types of pokemon he saw before him Bryan had one obvious choice. [break][break]

The cat had swords for teeth and wanted to scrap. He was picking the evil spirit, and so he spots someone trying to assist his opponent John Sullivan. Those petals of his.. he was the one who had fucked him over in the battle hut previously? He stares at it, glad that his adaptation to it was going to matter. [break][break]

Well one way to get a pokemon to side with you, was to side with it during battle. "Silvally!" he calls out as he summons his shiny silvally. "Heal block that Zamazenta! Don't let it receive any aid!" he shouts as his trusted Chimera used it's powers on the pink petals flurrying towards zamazenta and ATTEMPTS TO BLOCK THE HEALING from reaching the legendary shield.[break][break]

He calls out to the ex gym leader. "That's for my battle hut!" he cries out as the mask continues to hide his identity. [break][break]
