Zamazenta was truly a sight to behold. While it was true he hadn't seen the legendary dog before, Colton would be hardpressed to say he couldn't identify it on sight. It certainly couldn't be the small, weasel-like creature with broken blades jutting out of its mouth like two vicious fangs, but that creature still remained a mystery. Perhaps it was one of the "creatures of ruin" the briefing on spoken on...

Speculating wasn't beneficial in that moment, however, as the Avanlache grew closer and Rockets from all around focused their attacks in on Zamazenta. Colton clicked one of the Pokeball's at his waist, Optimus appearing from it in a flash of red, standing tall and proud with its twinblade at its side. "Follow the paths everyone has cleared ahead through the Avalanche to get to Zamazenta,"he said, pointing towards the magnificent golden shield gleaming in the distance, the Iron Valiant's gaze following along until it settled on the legendary. "Once you're up there, use WIDE GUARD to defend it from all the attacks coming in!"

Optimus' digital eyes flashed twice in confirmation before it dashed off, gracefully running along the path built by others and even along the avalanche itself until it had reached Zamazenta. The neon liquid flowing around its body glowed bright as a large barrier formed around it, aiming to create a protective bubble over the legendary Pokemon. As for Colton, he was quick to scramble behind John Sullivan 's own Wide Guard.

Gerald stood at the forefront, gazing upon the two beasts of legends partaking in battle.

Clad in his usual combat gear, mask hiding his face. He was as ready as could be. By his side a Pokémon hovered, its robotic wings moving about readying itself as much as possible as it zeroed in on their objective for the mission.

“Aim for the dog.” Gerald commanded, following the beat of other Rockets to help the Ruinous beast in its battle. Perhaps even blind to the indifferent Avalanche that Chien-pao would bathe the battlefield in.

Iron Moth was quick to gather fiery energy at the tips of its wings, before letting it fly as a FIERY DANCE toward the Zamazenta.

Unlike many present near Route 120's ANCIENT TOMB, Josh had familiarity with both the giant snow feline and the shield-faced canine. His trip inside the Cloud, the day he saw the apocalypse happen, the day he almost watched Saber die... it was a day he would never forget. He had saved mint frost from the wrath of Zacian once. This time, though, it seemed like the Galarian legendary Pokémon were on their side.

The ice-type was one Josh was familiar with, too, having met a facsimile of the maddeningly fast Pokémon at The Border. His battle with his own shadow had nearly taken his life, the very SYGNA SUIT he was wearing having protected him from being buried in snow multiple times. The shadow referred to the Chien-Pao as Akuji. Was that the Pokémon's name? No matter. This was a golden opportunity. The rider's lust for speed drove him to make this creature, ruinous as it may be, his own.

...Or would have been, were it not for dahlia goode 's orders. Had he not been on thin ice, he would have broken ranks and attempted capture, not knowing the ruinous cat was a god. A creature that simply could not be confined to a Poké Ball. Though he lacked the strength of an Avatar, he did have one advantage: raw speed.

Not once in Josh's entire battle at The Border did "Akuji" use a speed-enhancing move. That was going to be the ticket to making himself useful. The way his SYGNA SUIT worked, Josh was able to draw the maximum yield of INFINITY ENERGY from it only while in his Manectric's thundercloud saddle. Though he had left his dream behind at FERNANDO SILPH 's, dahlia goode 's, and Michael Navidson 's behest, it felt wrong to remove one of his few remaining memories of that past life.

Excited and JOLLY for the first battle his new self would experience, Josh ordered a fast-as-a-Johto-Beast QUICK ATTACK from his trusty steed. With INFINITY ENERGY flowing from the repaired SYNC STONE deep within his suit, electricity arced wildly among Saber's paws, lunging with blistering speed toward the ruinous ice-type. While they only aimed to land a glancing blow and dash out of reach, much like a jousting lancer, the purpose of the attack was to serve as a decoy and open up attacks for the League's heavier hitters. Perhaps the Manectric could outrun the AVALANCHE and get on the other side of it before it fell on top of him.
