People had pivoted to attacking Hoopa. While Kyurem was a threat to the entire region, it was only thanks to the mischievous genie’s meddling that it had encroached upon their world.

Even more mythical and legendary Pokémon were added into the mix. It was a raid-style battle of epic proportions, but with every single attack, the Hoennians got one step closer to victory.

“Huggles, see if you can break through the mist with a Hurricane!” Andrea instructed her Dragonite, who flapped its small wings, generating a roaring tornado that tore through the raging blizzard.

Sadly, the forces of winter prevailed, freezing the Dragon-type solid. “Huggles, not you too!” The costumed trainer cried out in horror, realizing that three of her Pokémon had now been claimed by the permafrost.

The crunch that echoed in her ear from Josh Devlin’s impact made her flinch. But without a voice to narrow down the source, she wasn’t sure who it came from. Her gaze quickly scanned the ever-shifting battlefield below with no luck. Hopefully, whoever it was was ok.

Her intention to dismount was pressed across the tether that tied them together. The dragon shifted, but didn’t land, letting the avatar slide off their emerald scales into a free fall. Gravity pulled her down and the wind whipped around her, curling like a blanket as it crescendoed into a powerful pulse that slowed her fall just enough for her to land comfortably.

Free of their rider, the dragon didn’t hold back. They led a charge, Keldeo cantering at their side as an inspirational COACH. Their serpentine form twisted like a drill, a seemingly suicidal path that led towards the hands. Rayquaza blasted through the first with EXTREME SPEED, curling instantly to strike another, and another, a series of blurry attacks coated in a blinding light of energy.

The good thing was that the cousins were together now, and should be rather easy to spot from mid-air…

All the while, the spectral Typhlosion continued to keep them warm by approaching them and flaring up the spectral flames coming out of his back. Scary flames, but hey, at least it would help keep them warm while they decided what they were going to do!

“Honestly, Eli, I don’t know if being here would lure out… you know. The problem. My problem,” he continued with a knowing eyebrow waggle.

it was difficult to see through the blizzard and chaos, but she was almost sure they’d yet to get a hit in. her marshadow was pushed away by howling wind, same as the noctowl had been, leaving it to fall back into shadow.[break][break]

on the ground, lulu felt vulnerable, head on a swivel for another ring and fist. there seemed to be no way to predict when one might appear.[break][break]

In this storm, flying Pokémon were a liability. If they were going to be constricted to the ground, they might as well resort to using Ground-types. "Donna, I choose you!" Andrea sent out her next battler, an impressive Rhyperior. "Use Rock Blast on those hands!"

The bipedal rhinoceros extended its large, stony arms, aiming at Hoopa's floating limbs and firing a salvo of rock projectiles from the holes in its palms.

Just as Balmung rushes to attack, his target disappears into a portal. This forces the dragon to stop abruptly which thrusts his rider forward in the process. Trying to grasp onto anything he can during the fall, Roy loses his grip on his partner pokemon and is given away to gravity.

Instantly, the dragon sinks into the hail to remedy the error, but he's blindsided by their opponent. A new portal appears with a new arm, but this one is aimed at Balmung. Without any delay, the fist fires a punch into Roy's partner pokemon sending them both tumbling down to the earth below.

"Fix this."

There's no time to ask for help over comms. He's only begging his partner to do something about their decent. It takes a moment, but Balmung is able to snap to. Fighting against the bitter cold, the fire-type fills the gap between him and his partner with his wings. Balmung is able to catch his partner before they collide with the tera crystals below. Within seconds, they're both back in the sky and ready to assist.

"I'm good. What about you?" He responds to freya morningstar over the comms.

with lyune frozen, lost somewhere in the wasteland, there's no doubt she's not as recognizable, and ori's a small dragon, by his species' standards. he ducks and curves around the impatient onslaught of hoopa's fists. balmung's tail is a beacon in the flurry. she witnesses it all. [break][break]

for a split second, she thinks she may have lost the family she's only just found. her breath catches in her throat, but she shrugs it off just as quickly on the claustrophobic cold. her lungs struggle with the frigid air, teeth chattering, and she roughly pulls ori away.[break][break]

"come on, bud," she murmurs. "eva told us not to let up.[break][break]

she shoulders into her ear and says to Roy Aker, "good. too stubborn to die. guess we get that from our moms' side?"[break][break]

ori draws his wings in tight and corkscrews through a fresh gust of wind and a frozen statue of one of the fallen. kyurem's clawed talons, meters long, draw furrows into the rumbling earth. ori races around his side and around one ankle, spurting flames.

With the angry fist pushed away and Hoopa Ring gone, for now, Elinor and Minh were given a moment of reprieve, just long enough to consider dear Cousin’s question.

“It seems like we aren’t making much progress in defeating either of those two.” Even the notion of holding off was debatable, but defeating not so much. “So let’s focus on the injured and getting them to safety. But let’s keep an eye out for any opportunities to deal some damage, sounds good?”

It sounded good to her, and to Minh too.

“As for your problem.” She gestured toward Kyurem in surprisingly Alto Maren fashion. “Wasn’t that the source of it to begin with? I am sure it is going to be too cowardly to show up to help with this.” She gave a cheeky grin to Lars.

She didn’t know how the connection between the Mirage and her cousin worked, but perhaps if it could hear what Lars heard she could taunt it into action. Surely taunting it couldn’t go wrong.

The relief Luka feels upon seeing Remiel Calcifet safely carried away surprises her. She’s not heartless, so of course she doesn’t want him to be hurt, but it’s rather troubling nonetheless.[break][break]

Her Hatterene scoffs and smacks her with her claw, which— while excessive— effectively snaps her out of it. Right. There are more important things to focus on now, and Remiel is no longer her concern.[break][break]

Still, what is she to do? She can’t idle, that’s for sure. Flicking the ghostly reigns of her Spectrier, the pair charge off once again, with Sugar perched behind her and Parfait gliding alongside them. All around them, Hoopa arms emerge to cause random acts of destruction— Parfait tries throwing up barriers of protect to allies and enemies alike, but without knowing where the arms will emerge from next, her shields are all but useless.[break][break]

It’s so frustrating! Eva Morales’s call to action resonates with her, but what should she do? Instinct tells her to defend and heal, but their leaders are urging an attack. Her steed whinnies, looking for direction, but Luka is momentarily frozen as her mind twists itself in knots to figure out a course of action.[break][break]

That is, until another equine gallops past them. It’s a fleeting interaction, but the coaching from Keldeo is enough to steel her resolve. That’s right— they can’t afford to hesitate now. Even if she makes the wrong choice, it’ll be better than doing nothing![break][break]

She wishes she could pat the mystical pony on the head and thank them, but they don’t have time for that. Instead, Luka urges her team forwards, bracing against the blistering snow and ice. ”Parfait!” she yells over the storm, ”Try to slow those arms down!”[break][break]

Her Hatterene nods in understanding, and unleashes multiple thunder waves wherever the arms appear. Again, it’s difficult to predict where they might emerge, but if they can manage to hit even one perhaps they’ll be able to start slowing the beast down![break][break]

She's unable to really respond to all of the things going on at once, Navy mentions a pokemon named Keldeo but she doesn't really recognize it. [break][break]

"Cobalion's friend? How do you-" she says as attacks start flying by her and causes her to be re-directed onto the fight. "Cobalion!" she says calling it back as Meloetta swaps jobs with the sword of justice. Cobalion stares at the creature for a moment and Melody seems unable to really detect it's emotional response to the sword. [break][break]

Instead it draws it's SACRED SWORD and Keldeo marvels at the blade and uses HELPING HAND to lend it's aid to the leader of the sword of justice. Melody grins happily, navy was right, it was a friend. [break][break]

"Alright Cobalion we're so in! Let's go!" she says cheering him on with her own support as the sword of justice rushes forward towards Kyurem and unleashes a devastating blow. [break][break]

Regardless, she went back to attacking the UNBOUND HOOPA with her NINJASK, standing near luka chêne and commanding the bug-type to charge.
