One. last. Heave. And Eko finally made a hole in the snow big enough for the trapped pokemon to squirm through. Of course, now, it wasn’t planning to come out any time soon with the iron assailants running around. The pokemon hissed a warning at Eko who returned a flat, unimpressed look.

It didn’t matter any more, anyway. While she’d love to just grab the darn thing, pile onto Flowers, and flee from whatever this… metal pokemon was, it seemed too dangerous to flee. Flowers and the metal bull were locked in on eachother.

Eko clenched her teeth as the familiar sound of aerial ace whistled through the air. She decided she would help too, and grabbed a nearby rock. She hurled it at the bull, aiming to time it so it smacked into the pokemon just as Flower’s attack landed.

The cut that once formed thanks to the mechanical beasts stitches together at the Head Scientist's powers, and he glances quickly at her in thanks before jumping out into the fray.

[break][break] The dragon lets out a mighty roar as it's EARTHQUAKE tears the ground into a fissure, resulting in several of the strange beasts to collapse at their feet. Behind them, the sight of illie's SPATIAL REND gleams into a burst of pink light.

From the field of snow and the chasm below the bridge, the Paradox Pokemon start coming in from the Unbound Hoopa’s rings. Seeing the fires from the Fusion Flare thaw out the frozen Pokemon, she sees her Aegislash return to her. Caliburn winces from the Fusion Flare’s burn though he now appears to be in good health. Many of the others were going down to the chasm to drive off the Paradox Pokemon that appeared to be some robotic versions of legendary Pokemon Elise doesn’t know.[break][break]

“I’m going down to the bottom soon, so I’ll be fine with the warmth from the fire types sent out.” She spoke to her Audino and Typhlosion before switching them both out for her rose decorated Noivern with her saddle and reins. Mounting onto her flying bat dragon, Elise would have plans to meet up with Alexei Ivanov since he probably knows more about the Paradox Pokemon they were battling.[break][break]

As Minerva takes off into the air, the Noivern screeches in finding the Fortree gym leader and his Tornadus. She is able to find the duo easily and the bat dragon descends to be in front of the gym leader and his djinn. [break][break]

“Alex! What are those Pokemon?” The royal ambassador asks as her Noivern rests her wings. “There are Pokemon I haven’t seen before, but they look…really strange.” [break][break]

He watches Gwyar Wledig's sword unleash its full power and aim it at the creature that brings nothing but danger through its rings. The sound and sight of it all stirs his heart a little bit. It was always amazing to see this sort of stuff from this angle, where companions and comrades showed their true strength against their foes. Made him want to show off as well to prove he could keep up with them.

Yet something else catches his attention,

One of the Paradoxes gets struck by the beam and falls to its side with a loud crash and clang, beeping as its legs kick about like it was trying to run despite not even touching solid ground. Kaz saw a chance to finally add something like this to his arsenal so he wasted little to no time in reaching for a ball. A spare beast ball was what he hand on hand and so its what flew through the air and struck the Colbalion look-a-like square on the temple and sucked it up inside and with a single click the ball fell to the ground still.

The Fusion Flare arced across the sky like a meteor. Graceful, beautiful, deadly. Howard watched Kyurem prepare the strike, and he watched, unblinking, as it struck the frozen world.

For a moment, it looked like Meteno.

Instinctively, Howard hid behind his golem. The ensuing heat wave melted the snow to a damp slush, and the Silent Icelands grew warmer for a moment. Regice did not buckle under the heat. It was the crystallization of the Earth's harshest winters, forged from ice not seen in epochs eternal.

It did not melt. It did not weep.

"I hate prophecies." He said as he stepped over the crushed body of an Iron Crown. "They're unreliable, and they change on a whim. Yet Kyurem has seen more than I ever have. I won't dismiss it, but I won't respect it."

He scoffed silently as Xenon Antheil explained Rocket to Kazimir Wynter . Rocket didn't care about anything but itself. Glory to Rocket, after all. Yet he wasn't going to interrupt Xenon's sales pitch.

"Yes, we're revolutionaries. We also pay pretty well." A lie, but there was no need to be honest. He reached for his belt, and pulled out a Pokeball. He inspected a malfunctioning Iron Boulder, before throwing a ball at it. After a moment, he heard the click.

"There is a tool for every task, and there is a task for every tool. I cannot wait to see what path you choose, Kazimir."

The archaeologist departed towards the chasm, Regice in tow.

As Yuina Higashi answered their questions, a hue of relief crossed over El's features, even if they were equal parts sympathetic to the rough time that Hoopa must've brought upon her. When she coughed, they'd give her hand a gentle squeeze. But at the very least, she was cognizant, no signs of memory loss, and she didn't seem confused or disoriented - which was a good sign. "Take it easy." They instructed softly - or at least, as easy as she could in a battlefield.

"If you start feeling confused or dizzy no clear reason, or go unconscious again, have one of your pokemon take you away from here and get to a doctor, okay?" El continued, adding "My brother might be a miracle worker... But I don't know how much he could help if you get a serious concussion."

Ideally, she'd just go see a doctor right away, but... It'd be hypocritical of them, when they'd probably get back up and dive right back into the fray in such a situation.

On the other hand though, DESIREE BLOOMS was a lot more concerning, particularly the fact that she was coughing up blood! "If- Unless you bit something in your mouth, that has to be internal bleeding, you need a doctor..!" They'd exclaim, visibly caught off guard by the state the ace was in. Pokemon healing was good and all, but who knew what got injured in there???

But, there is a lot going on now - too much to immediately tend to Desiree - and it all begins in flame. El and Lady Amalthea both are able to hunker down from the worst of the deflected Fusion Flare, steam rising in the surrounding area from the melting snow. And in the wake of the steam, came danger. Paradox pokemon - ones shaped like that of the Swords of Justice - began to swarm the battlefield, from the great chasm that Kyurem had rended through the earth..!

Akane clashed with an Iron Crown, Thomas Benoit covered Isaac Merlo from a Hoopa punch... There was plenty to process in this moment - though first they glanced to Yuina, who had thanks for them and their brother. "His name's Isaac," They responded with a soft - even if visibly worried - smile. "You guys be safe, get your friend - Des, right? - to a doctor, if you can."

There came yet another surprise though, in the form of Eris Halla dropping in on top of Isaac! "E-Eris?? You two okay??" They'd question - and while Isaac certainly seemed okay, given how he was immediately pushing himself back up... Eris seemed as though she'd been shaken, even if unhurt, with the little sob that escaped her.

Thus, when El spoke again, it was softer - comforting. "Hey, it's okay Eris, we're here... Coming up behind ya, contact incoming." They'd give her a heads up - knowing she tended to be a bit jumpy - before reaching an arm around to gently embrace her from behind.

But, the danger didn't wait for anyone. Though Eris was able to pacify an Iron Leaves that charged forth, they could see that Akane was struggling... They had to help her, they realized - recalling Lady Amalthea to switch out to someone else--

-- But before they could so much as consider another pokeball, a whistle sounded upon the wind. A white-red-blue-brown blur slams into the Iron Crown with a blinding Extremespeed..! Both are sent tumbling into the snow - but before the paradox has a chance to retaliate, the saddled Togekiss that attacked it falls back. She pushes off of it with a beat of her wings, to take flight once more..!

El is speechless at the sight; though they had seen other pokemon being thawed out... They hadn't had a chance to consider - they didn't realize... "A... Akero..." They murmur softly, their voice audibly cracking with emotion.

She was okay. Though they can see that her feathers are singed from the prior flames, she's okay..!

TLDR/NOTES:
- Is presently with Isaac Merlo , Thomas Benoit , and Eris Halla (Yuina Higashi and DESIREE BLOOMS might also still be there for a bit? wasn't sure-)
- When Yuina Higashi answers their questions, they're reassured that she probably isn't concussed; but they advise that she gtfo if she gets KO'd again or otherwise feels any inexplicable confusion or dizziness.
- DESIREE BLOOMS , on the other hand, CONCERNS THEM? PLEASE SEE A DOCTOR YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO COUGH UP BLOOD?!?!
- Before they can try to have their Ponyta treat Desiree though, the whole Fusion Flare + Paradox 'Mon Situation begins.
- As Yuina and Desiree get up on the Glastrier and prepare to go, El tells them to be safe + to get Des to a doctor
- The first Eris-pact begins! As she hugs Isaac + gives a lil sob, El comes up to help comfort her with a lil hug.
- While Eris is pacifying the Iron Leaves, El recalls Lady Amalthea - intending to send another pokemon out to try and back Akane up...
- ... But is surprised when a certain Togekiss comes along, and strikes the Iron Crown with Extremespeed! El is speechless + emotional.

"It's gonna be okay." Rook brushed the ice and snow off the head of another shivering pokemon as it slowly came to. This was proving to be more of a job than he anticipated. It wasn't that he was lazy or even unwanting to be there, it was just a lot of chaos all at once that he wasn't at all prepared for. He wanted to ask Lam how he could do all of this all the time, but he also didn't want to be seen as weak for it.

Rook flinched as a sudden burst of light burned at his retinas. Even with his eyes squeezed shut, he could still see the light through his eyelids. Fingers brushed across his hand before slipping away, "Lam?" Admittedly, he panicked a little and forced his eyes open. Sparks of light continued to blind him. "I don't know." He was kind of hoping that Lam would know, as he wasn't exactly an expert.

Stupidly, he gawked at the creatures that had emerged. He'd never seen pokemon like them before.

"Close one, huh?"

"This is insane, you mean." He squeaked, wishing they could just go back to rounding up frozen pokemon and calling it a day. That was when he noticed the burst of light, his eyes went wide. The only thing he felt right then was the sudden snap of adrenaline in his veins. "Lam, look out!" Grabbing him, he hauled him aside as the hyper beam tore through the space they were just standing. The heat in the air fried the hair from his arms, it might have even left him with a sun burn.

His hands gripped at Lam, trembling a little. "Are you okay?"

He turned to the cranky ol’ man, and let out a tiny little sigh before a familiar-looking Noivern had sighted them; and immediately brought…

“Miss Elise, are you okay?!” he exclaimed upon her arrival; because holy shit things were still going on!

Then, the inevitable question about if he recognized any of the strange things that were now laying waste to pretty much everyone around them—

“They’re some perverse versions of the Swords of Justice… I take you saw the little one running around?” he confirmed with her.

Of course, he was talking about Keldeo.

“They look very close, but at the same time not quite so. Kind of like that strange mechanical Hydreigon I own,” he mused—before…

“No. Miss Elise, you can’t possibly be thinking of…” he trailed off as he looked towards where the strange, perverse, robotic versions of the Swords of Justice were pouring out.

“Are you kidding?! What would Remy say if he found out?!” he exclaimed as he raised his hands in surprise.

“What if something happens to you down there?!”

It was like they had the conversation with their eyes, and he fully understood the intent that she wanted to do…

“I swear, if something bad happens to you and Remy finds out about it you’re never going to hear the end of it from him. Or me.”

He turned to look over at the dedushka, circling them in a defensive formation before he sighed.

“Fine. Just know this: if anything bad happens down there. We are getting out of there, no questions asked. Do you swear.”

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Weaving and ducking to dodge attacks and charges made by a seemingly endless wave of Iron Leaves, Boulders, and Crowns, Aurelie winced as more prophetic words boomed through the air from the huge, icy Kyurem. Most of them had gone in one ear and out the other, preoccupied as she was with staying in one piece. The words she did hear, though, all sounded like bad news.

But then, what else is new? This is Hoenn, she thought cynically. Life here can be peaceful and happy for a while, but that's just a prelude before it all explodes into chaos...again.

The Iron Crowns were definitely catching her eye, though. If she could get one to stay still enough, she might even consider trying to capture one...

Meanwhile, Aurelie's Charizard was handling the conflict with all the ferocity for which it was known. FLAMETHROWER blasts shot through the air at various Pokemon. Thankfully, with the swarm of Paradox Pokemon, the Charizard barely had to aim, even though she'd worried at first about hitting the innocent Pokemon or other trainers around them.

As they kept fighting, Aurelie kept a vigilant—if preoccupied—eye out for Eris Halla. Guilt still weighed on her like a heavy coat encrusted with ice. Isaac Merlo had even indicated Aurelie was trustworthy and safe, and then...she just let her fall and maybe even die. She hoped she might find something from that girl, though, even if it was just a small, bloodstained body.

he misfires his baton pass, and instead, aims for the paradox pokemon resembling terrakion.

"shit. this is what i get for not getting him in a ball, right, smeargle?"

he recalls his smeargle to his ball and calls for his terrakion for help, but to his surprise, the iron boulder that got his attention from the misfire doesn't act aggressive.

it bewilders kyle, and instead of thinking much about the weird interactions of his sygna suit and the move, baton pass, he treats it like any other encounter with a paradox pokemon and tosses a ball at it.

there was no time to talk, after all. he needed to catch up to his terrakion, who had been paving the way from their location to where keldeo was.

kyle misfires the geomancy - baton pass to iron boulder
tames the paradox mon by accident and catches it to get it out of the way

At first, he hadn’t thought this particular call to arms was as hectic as some of the others. But that had been when it was just a snowstorm and one overly large dragon causing problems while the hoopa spewed disjointed prophetic lines. Which, okay, yeah now sounded like a lot. But with the fissure in the earth and the sudden onslaught of technological pokemon flooding in, he was maybe starting to feel a little bit bad about talking Rook into coming.[break][break]
It was a little more than he’d expected to chew, but he’d probably still maintain it was better than being stuck at home to worry. “Yeah, it’s a little insane,” he admitted, “I haven’t even really seen anything like this before.” Though this was probably old news for some others on the field.[break][break]
Normally, he was quick to react. But in that moment, he froze. Eyes round as he saw the pulse of the paradox pokemon’s attack a beat too late. “Wha—“ His heart lurched into an unsteady thump, wincing as he prepared for the zap that didn’t come.[break][break]
Hands latched around him, careless to the head of the HYPER BEAM that came his way at rapid speed.[break][break]
Artichoke moved at the sound of Rook’s shout, sweeping forward to slash out at the Iron Crown with the wide, sweeping cuts of his LEAF BLADE. The decidueye battered the robotic creature back to cover them both, but Lam wasn’t paying attention to that. The roar of conflict faded, and he was conscious of his hands curled tight in the fabric of Rook’s jacket. An automatic reaction to being grabbed so quickly. All he could do was stare.[break][break]
He blinked rapidly, startled by the pulse of fear and the adrenaline that hadn’t quite subsided yet. Lam stared at him, a slow nod rapidly taking off as he swallowed. “Y-yeah. Yeah I’m okay,” he replied thinly, “Are you?” His attention shifted down to reddened fingers as they held onto him.[break][break]
“You were fast,” he said next, a bit dumb and breathless as a faint smile pulled at his mouth, “You saved me just then, thanks.” So maybe he was still a little stunned, though he tried to snap out of it. Some of the pokemon had scattered in the wake of the attack, but they didn’t go far. They began to recongregate around them in a tight pack, eager to move.

When Alexei Ivanov explains that the Paradox Pokemon coming out of the rings the Unbound Hoopa used were the bastard versions of the Swords of Justice in his home region, she could see the resemblance between the three of them and their mechanical opposites. “I see now… They’re dangerous too and probably a bit more stronger than my Pokemon.” She replied while Alex asked about the smaller pony with the feathered mane and how it helped out her Lucario. “Oh yes, the little pony is still around the battlefield. It’s helping everyone out too.”[break][break]

He does worry when he could see that Elise wanted to get down to the bottom of the chasm and fight back against those robotic beasts. “It’s not a problem, Alex. I can handle it since I’m on my own without Remiel Calcifet ’s help and he’s at the other side.” A little sigh came from the dark magenta haired princess since she knows Remy would worry if she ended up in danger from one of those…things down there. [break][break]

“Thank you, Alex. You and Tornadus can make sure that I’m safer down there when you two land.” A smile came onto the royal ambassador’s face and she began to direct her Noivern in flying up to the air and making their descent down to the bottom of the chasm…where everything was happening.[break][break]

As soon as the Noivern and her rider make the first contact with the chasm’s bottom, two Iron Crowns start to attack them. “Minerva!” Elise called out when her Noivern flies out of the first Iron Crown’s Tachyon Blade’s range. Opening her maw, the bat dragon launches a Flamethrower that makes the first Iron Crown that attacked her groan in its machinery. [break][break]

Taking out a Dusk Ball from her pack, Elise threw it at the Iron Crown and with the red light sucking it in, it wriggles three times before the resounding click is heard. Minerva moves down to the ground as the dark magenta haired woman jumps down to get her newly caught Iron Crown’s Dusk Ball and release the robotic looking Cobalion outside.[break][break]

And as Elise goes back to mount her Noivern again, another Flamethrower from the Noivern ends up burning the other Iron Crown. It whirrs before its eyes flash red as it proceeded to attack the Noivern with Slash! [break][break]

Not that Aurelie could tell in any way that this would be the last push, with the sheer amount of chaos still happening across the battlefield. The Hoopa and Kyurem were still firing off attacks while continuing to prophesy, the Keldeo seemed to be everywhere at once, and the Paradox Pokemon still came at them in waves. There did seem to be fewer of them now than at the start, at least.

Finally, there was a brief respite in the onslaught. Aurelie sagged against her Charizard's neck, reveling in the heat it still gave off. One thing was for certain: assuming she survived, she was going home, making herself a metric ton of hot cocoa, running the water to near-scalding, and sinking into a hot bath.

Even her Charizard looked like it was tiring. "Pauvre bête," she said sympathetically. "You deserve a rest too. And maybe some time in the forge later on, so you can warm up too!"

As the chaos and battling started to pick up again, Aurelie returned the Charizard back to its ball and glanced into her pocket to check her options. Unlike many others, she felt deeply fortunate that none of her own Pokemon had been frozen. As she looked down, for a moment the redhead thought she caught a glimpse of a small, slight, girlish figure in a familiar coat out of the corner of her vision.

Her head whipped up instantly to follow the motion. It can't be...can it? she wondered, her heart soaring with renewed hope. Did Eris Halla actually survive that fall? Did this end up okay after all?
