The area wasn't safe and with no impending signs of a Toxic Chain to study, Nenet lets loose her Zebstrika as a wave of sludge pours across the ground. Darting off, electricity courses across the Pokemon and its trainer as they easily outrun the attack.

Something catches Nenet's eye, a fleeting sight of a little girl crying and scared, and her heart clenches and drops into her stomach.

"Stop!" she calls to her Zebstrika, causing the zebra to slow and peer around, trying to find the source of its trainer's distress. "There." Pointing to a small girl cowering on the ground without a guardian in sight, Zebstrika trots over.

Nenet slips off to kneel beside the girl, her voice low and comforting as she murmurs, "We need to get out of here, baby. Come on." Still crying, the little girl looks up with teary eyes and Nenet whisks her away from the chaos.

Some moments later they find a group of citizens to leave the girl with, her parents quickly found. Nenet disappears from the crowd with a heaviness gnawing at her heart.

Jason held little regard for the resting places of dead men or their gods. He'd mostly been curious about the spectacle of bright lights and clamoring people rushing to the area, and of the looming titan of refuse that towered above them all. He had little to gain from joining the fray outside of the slaking of his own curious thirst, but as a man sometimes possessed by the careless rush of a good thrill, that was reason enough to take his shot, [break][break]

“What an eyesore,” he drawled, running a tongue over his teeth. Jason jutted his chin towards the Dragonair at his side, “Do something about it, Yonah.” [break][break]

The dragon surged forward with a fierce cry, slamming into the Poison-type's body with a Dragon Rush. The corner of Jason's mouth curled into a snarl when he saw that the attack had little effect; so much for this venture being fun. [break][break]

“Again.” [break][break]

Another slam, and the living landfill barely flinched. Another, and another, and all each strike served to do was just knock off a few bits of garbage that made up the Pokemon's body. With a click of the tongue, Jason recalled his Dragonair and sauntered off as others rushed in to take his place on the battlefield. He'd have to find his next bit of excitement elsewhere.

Answering the call to the reports of a massive Garbodor wreaking havoc at Route 120, Noel comes across the Gigantamaxed creature. All manner of filth and debris covered the area and the poison type was running amok attacking people and Pokemon alike. Noel's first priority was to assist everyone in their endeavor, opting to play the role of support for the others to fight back in tip-top shape.[break][break]

With his Milotic sent out onto the field, it would rain down a Life Dew that healed and soothed civilians and Pokemon that were either fleeing the scene. Noel would make sure that each and every one of them would make it to safety before returning back to combat the giant heap of trash.

Robin stood behind her Snorlax even as the gigantamax pokemon fell to the folks who arrived sooner. She was nervous about the uptick in poison pokemon, but Snorlax was as good a shield as ever. It was particularly true in this matter, as she had never seen him fall to poison in the entire time she knew him.

He tanked a sludge bomb with a small grunt, turning to the assailant which was a small garbador. "Knock him back," she instructed Mun, feeling pumped. He readied a hammer arm and knocked the poison pokemon flying backwards. Indeed, with a pokemon like him to shake off any icky side effects, she felt well-equipped to help civilians get out of the sick zone.

Johanna had her Claydol quickle manifested on Route 120. She too had heard the call to action against what would reveal itself to be a Dynamaxed Garbador.

Plenty of trainers had already jumped on the task of dealing with the giant, but in their fervor they forgot their surroundings. Civilians and wildlife were caught in the crossfire between trainer attacks and waves of Dynamax-Garbador poison.

Johanna wasted no time moving in to help those in need.

“Clay, raise some walls of Earth for cover.” She delegated before summoning another Pokemon. “Kevin, I need you to handle any civilians and wild Pokemon who are caught in or around the poison.”

The Snorlax that had appeared nodded and so both Pokemon went to work. Ground shook as palisades formed. Snorlax charged with its IMMUNITY infused body toward the poison dragged out any and all Pokemon or human within reach.

Meanwhile from her position of command near the Claydol she took out her PokeNav and sent a message to Megan Whitmore

If you haven’t heard already, there’s a Dynamaxed Garbador at Route 120 causing trouble. It has mostly been contained, but could always use more help with the civilians and wildlife.

(I almost sound like a Ranger, huh?)

He'd gotten the notification and made it as quickly as he could, but between Dewford's comparative remoteness and his slower means of long-range transport - Dang, gotta get me one of those teleporty jobs - much of the action was already underway.

Briefly, he'd been grateful, for an instant, because he'd never seen such a huge pokemon in his life. Granted, he knew about the Dynamax phenomenon, but studying it and seeing it in person were two very different things. As best as he could figure, there wasn't even a trainer directing the thing, either, which was even more concerning.

Still, the thing had clearly already taken a beating, and was currently in the process of sloughing off the poison, slime, and trash that made up its body under the assault. The unfortunate side effect was taking its toll on the surroundings, and so he and Nemo were rushing the area near the Temple, sending small packs of Gloom and Linoone scattering to a safer area.

Once he'd ensured as many were safe as he could, he'd come back and help wipe up. He might have been surprised, but nothing scared Beau Fontaine out of doing the right thing.

There's little Lutgarde and their pokémon could do when coming to face with a gigantic Garbodor, but they were doing the best they could. Their Sylveon Sylv is throwing one Light Screen after another, to keep any stray debris from hitting fleeing wild pokémon and civilians as the battle against the Garbodor is in full swing.

"Follow me! Keep calm!" they shout with a calm voice, their tall height coming in handy, even if they could have opted for a higher visibility outfit - black isn't exactly the best in a situation like that. They turn to face an injured pokémon, whistling to call their Togekiss Sylph to their side. "We'll get you to safety," they say, nodding for Sylph to use Life Dew to help with the wild pokémon's injuries.

This was not fine. This was making Mitsuru wonder why she even got out of bed this morning. Seriously! All she wanted was to do was research that strange incident on Route 120 last year, and instead, she found herself hiding amidst the tall grass as the supermassive Garbodor rampaged in the distance.

But it would be fine, eventually. After all, there were already plenty of trainers dealing with the Gigantamaxed garbage bag. She just had to hunker down and wait for them to get rid of it, and then she could carry on as though nothing happened. Yep, that was the plan! Any minute now, the monster would be defeated, the day would be saved, and she'd be able to leave in one piece. Until then, she just needed to stay still and--

GLORP!

It was at that moment that a great globule of sludge was launched off the Garbodor by a stray attack. And, as though guided by the hand of some vengeful god, it arced high through the sky, and came crashing right where she had been crouching. One moment she was clean, and the next, she was completely painted from head to toe with bin juice. But not just any bin juice: Incredibly toxic bin juice.

"...Urk...!"

Needless to say, today assuredly wasn't, wouldn't, and would never, ever, EVER be fine.

By the time Thomas arrived to take on the Garbodor, the Dynamax Barrier had already been shattered. This left him with the job of taking care of the rampaging Pokemon, before it could recover.

The Ceruledge glowered at the beast, who fired a Gunk Shot towards him. In response, the Ceruledge Ally Switched with a nearby trainer's Aggron. Thanks to the Aggron's typing, they found themselves unharmed by the Gunk Shot, and able to retaliate with a Head Smash.

Occasionally, some off-shoot from the battle between titans would threaten to squash a few like bugs— and so his Aegislash would step in, conjuring the ever trust-worthy King's Shield to repel away the harm.

Though he occasionally eyed the conflict, he stuck to his duties magnificently, guiding the citizenry and their pokemon out of harm's way.

Sludge and other disgusting things rain down around them. The stench alone almost makes Tempest want to hurl.[break][break]

Calling out Marina, the Sharpedo finds herself firmly planted on one of her long fins. She gives Tempest a look of displeasure. Yet, there was little Temp could do. Not many of his pokemon did very well on land.[break][break]

Instead, Marine used what leverage she could to Spiky Shield and Slash from the dropping crud.

It was the same power that Genevieve Cromwell had wielded so masterfully during their tournament match... And it was just as devastating. An impossibly gigantic pokemon ravaged the city, waves of poison and toxic gases rushing over everything, threatening everyone.[break][break]
Towering over the nearby buildings, the looming figure of a Mega Steelix rushed through the streets, it's broad head and it's sheer power meeting a sludge bomb that the enormous Gigantamax pokemon hurled through the air.[break]
The great metal serpent dispelled the poisonous attack and bellowed, readying it's defenses again to keep the beast at bay.[break][break]
Below, within the walkways, as Tahlos maintained a blockade of sorts, Yuina worked to usher citizen and pokemon out of this section of the city.[break]
"Keep your nose and mouths covered! Stay low to the ground and keep moving," Yuina called through a mask of her own, the toxins were heavily dispersed through the air now. She coughed, and shielded herself from the debris of an explosion in the near distance as Tahlos reared back, but the Steelix persisted as Yuina started to move at the tail end of the group of evacuees she had. They had to get out of the city before it was too late... She was already starting to feel a little hazy...

He is lucky that he doesn’t arrive too late to help against the enormous garbodor that threatens to stomp through 120. Though it’s not directly next to Lilycove, it’s only one route away, and it strays a little too close to the city for Lam’s comfort.[break][break]

There is only the regret that he didn’t make it there sooner, and he wonders if he might see Alexei Ivanov out here—it’s closer, after all, to Fortree. Concern for the other gym leader floats to the surface, but then Lam forces himself to focus. Alongside his aerial perch on the back of his pidgeot, his alolan raichu hovers, waiting for orders.[break][break]

As the garbodor spews toxins in its last ditch effort to protect itself from being pulled down, it’s quickly made apparent that the better call is to bolster. Let the numbers on the ground continue the offensive. “Help out with an extra layer,” he says and the raichu complies. Indra sweeps down, resting on the flat of his floating tail. Paws reach for his head and he concentrates as he pulls across the front, erecting a LIGHT SCREEN that might soften the blow of any last ditch efforts from the gargantuan creature.

Eva grit her teeth, staring up in resolution and awe at the gargantuan Garbodor terrorizing Route 120. Beside her, amethyst streaks of energy the Iron Leaves mingled with the sparkle of the metallic emerald.

A SLUDGE BOMB poured from the poison-type like a tidal wave, threatening to engulf a fleeing citizen, “Thalia!” Her arm thrust forward, pointing at the fallen innocent.

The Iron Leaves glitched through reality, ALLY SWITCHing to flip with the citizen. Instead, the paradox pokemon was consumed by the poison.

“Are you alright?!” Eva helped the stunned woman to her feet, “This way! Come on!” She began leading the frightened woman towards the evaluation route, sparing a glance back to see the QUICK GUARD around the Iron Leaves flutter away before she lunged forward to press the offensive.
