Much like is doing, El and their pokemon are out and about throughout Fortree, to clear out the flyers each time they crop up somewhere. Having a number of psychic and flying types, it's easy to coordinate all of their pokemon alongside that of Alexei's...

... But, something bothers them. Where did these flyers come from, in the first place? Thus, shortly after clearing one section of Fortree of any flyers, they set up a stakeout.

A number of their more stealthy pokemon - that of their Porygon2 Haro with a camouflaging texture installed on it, the small Unown Liot hiding in a little nook or cranny, Mernos the Flapple blending in in a tree, and the like.

Bibidi, too, keeps tabs from afar - the Alakazam ready to Teleport in some backup at a moment's notice, if danger does arise.

Surely, if these flyers are coming back, then someone - or something - had to be setting them, right...? As El leans into Bibidi - the Alakazam helping to share what their hidden pokemon are seeing on an occasion with her telepathy - they bring out their phone to text , wondering if he'd still be awake at this hour of night.
you've seen this stuff, right? any clues on your end?

With a sigh, they sip at the energy drink they'd picked up. Hopefully, they'd start getting some clues soon... Their next step would most likely be to have Artemis dole out some Odor Sleuths if this stakeout didn't cut it.

In response to League HQ’s radio silence regarding the posters many of you have seen spread across the region, Sheriff Navidson advises his deputies to disregard the statement until further notice.[break][break]

Sheriff Navidson is in the process of trying to get in contact with League officials in Ever Grande. Please give Commissioner Goode and her council the benefit of the doubt until they speak on the matter. In light of the recent attack by Team Rocket, Dewford citizens are free to carry as many Pokemon as they feel necessary for their protection.[break][break]

Deputies are advised to be on the lookout for the individuals putting these notices up. Detain and question them. Sheriff Navidson and Deputy / Gym Leader 's Pokemon are at your disposal, should you need them.[break][break]

This had to be some sort of sick joke.

Thomas stared at the poster in pure horror and disbelief. He heard nothing about this measure taking place. And he was damn sure didn't get any prior notice, lest she'd have ranted to him about it beforehand. That was, if or didn't give him notice.

It was Tapu Koko who helped quell Thomas' outrage at the sight of what he felt to be a suicidal decision. As much as he wanted to storm into 's office, and demand an explanation, he held off on such an impulsive move.

Instead, he'd send a message, a request to meet with him.

When given the chance to see him, whether the meeting was accepted, or a chance run-in, Thomas presented one of the foul posters he tore down to him. "Did you know about any of this prior to their placement?", Thomas asked him calmly. "Because I can tell you, neither me nor Desiree got any notice."

A tug on the hem of his shorts pulls Lam’s bleary eyed focus downward. As it is every morning, it’s too early to go in to work, but any designated hour wouldn’t suit someone who chronically sleeps in anytime he has an obligation to be somewhere. And when he doesn’t. This had to be a joke. This had to be some bad Team Rocket PR stunt to foster ill will against The League. It could be nothing else. It had to be. There was no way that any member of the council, whether it be , , hell even , were stupid enough to think this was a good or even necessary idea.

As she began to pull down poster after poster from the Verdanturf Ranger HQ, she could only ponder on their leadership's shortsightedness. Did they not see that this only villainized civilians? Criminals wouldn’t be touched by regulations they were going to ignore either way.

And by the time she had torn down as many as she could, it had all become a bad joke to her. A joke she couldn’t help but laugh at. A grim laugh that came from some deep angry part of her. Was this truly The League she had fought and bled for?

If The League thought that she would just roll over and let them take away her beloved pokemon under the pretence of enforcing this new law, well, perhaps it was time to change the leadership after all. At least Team Rocket would be upfront about being arseholes intent on ruining the lives of those beneath them.

And for a brief moment she wondered if would be down for a little coup.

Robin's in a neighboring town to Dewford when she sees the notice. Despite the official letterhead, it has to be a prank, but she doesn't find any laughter bubbling up. The trainers around her are in disarray, are calling family and friends and coordinating possession of pokemon around her.

Huh?

The crowd noise dissolves to static and her fingers are numb as she calls @gwendoyln. She rushes out of the building and heads on the route home to Dewford. As the phone rings, the panic finds her full force and she's crying over the sound of the operator inviting her to leave a message.

GWENNIE, YOU HAVE TO- THEY'RE TAKING OUR POKEMON AWAY. YOU CAN'T- YOU CAN'T HAVE ANYMORE THAN SIX. YOU NEED TO, UM, YOU NEED TO COORDINATE IMMEDIATELY TO GET, UM, YOUR DRAGONS SITUATED. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'LL DO ABOUT THE DRACIARY. I'M SORRY. I DON'T KNOW. UM, PLEASE DON'T GET IN TROUBLE. I - I...


Words fail her, leaving only the sound of her racing footsteps in the last seconds before ending the message. She wants to confess, but now can't be the time. She sounds hysterical, she knows she's being hysterical, but it feels like they're losing before they've even started. She needs to hold onto everything she can before its taken. Everyone she can.

She pulls herself together as she enters Dewford. Her family can't see her so distressed. They already believe she actively disgraces the Coello name by failing to live up the psychic legacy. She wipes her face as she enters the League HQ to confirm the posting is there, but she sees an additional notice from .

Disregard, it says. A blasphemous flicker of hope ignites in her chest. She hasn't harassed Navy since their battle, but she shoots a simple text to him:

She barely hits send when she gets a message from , which has no context but can only possibly mean what she thinks it does.

dewford is ignoring the notice by sheriff's orders. your birds are safe here, if they aren't in lilycove.


She doesn't have a home to offer him, doesn't even consider her legal residence here to be her home, but inevitably, those extra pokemon will be under collective Dewford protection. No one in Hoenn would describe as a man who backs down. His word is never empty, never weightless.

Normally he would sleep with the rising of the sun on his days off from courier delivery work; however there was something that had caught his attention when he was coming in from his evening ride…

“What the fuck is this shit?” he began, fishing out his phone and snapping a picture, before opening a long-abandoned group chat and then sending the picture to it—

‘Anyone know what the hell this is about and where it came from?’

He would then summon his Metagross, Ro, who let out a snort of surprise at the ‘thing’ that he was holding, before fixing one of his beady red eyes his way.

“I know. This makes no sense… but then again, I’m no longer part of the inner circles so why should I care—” he trailed off, before the other fellow early risers of Verdanturf came running, looking for him; blathering and blibbering about these posters and—

“…what?” was all he would reply once the early morning crowd had calmed down enough to explain shit to him. He then turned to his Metagross while holding the poster, and all it took was one stare between the two to understand what he wanted done.

Immediately, a ripple of psychic energy emanating from the Metagross would reveal—several hundred, no it looked to be more like several thousand of the posters put up around Verdanturf’s general vicinity that the dual-type had sensed and since plucked from the walls where they have been posted.

“Atomize them into dust,” he would growl; and the papers would be shredded into the tiniest bits of ‘confetti’ possible.

“Mamma mia. Not this early in the morning…” he grumbled as he opened another message window and punched in an extremely angry message before sending it to cousin dearest asking her if she’d seen this bullshit.

Another message would then be sent to la idiota Ollie, along with the attachment of the picture of said ‘poster’.

‘Hey. What’s this shit? You know anything about this? You’re all the way there in the inner circles, can you share anything you know about?’

The flyers were a little concerning at first, not just because of their content, but also because of how goddamn many of them seemed to be cropping up across the island. Eddie wasn't sure how many of them he had torn down by this point (he had stopped counting once he had reached the double digits), but the initial shock brought on by the finer details had been replaced by persistent annoyance every time he spied those bright, bold letters. [break][break]

On the bright side, any remaining fears of Pokemon being seized or potential incarceration were dispelled upon reading the sheriff's statement. Official or no, the top brass of the League were cordially invited to kiss Eddie's ass if they thought their word held greater sway with him than 's. He had spilled blood with the guy, celebrated victory alongside him, and grieved with him. If he said “jump”, Eddie would ask “how high”, and if the sheriff said to keep hold of his Pokemon and watch out for whoever was putting up these stupid posters, than Eddie would remain vigilant, keep ripping new flyers down, and keep his eyes peeled for whoever came to replace them.

The city of slateport was already on edge due to the recent calamity of an attack on the state of the region conference. It was palpable, those who weren't present were waiting for the other shoe to drop, and those who were present and escaped were scorned by the attack overall. How could rocket do that, why didn't the league do more, no one was safe...[break][break]
Needless to say, as Yuina walked through the academic campus to get to the museum, it came to no surprise that there was a bit of discourse going on as a handful of passersby were gathered at a building face, around a poster.[break]
Yuina held Moroe in her arms as she too moved towards the small crowd, in any facet whether it be academic or otherwise she had a responsibility to see what was going on, and she heard the murmurs and the growing upset before she read the words.[break][break]
'Are they serious?'[break]
'How could they actually enforce this?'[break]
'They're going to take away our Pokémon?'[break][break]
'The League is labeling half of the region as criminals...'[break][break]
Yuina stopped and read the words, and read them again, and again, and again... She clutched Moroe close to her chest, just the thought... Was this real?[break]
Walking along the city streets, in any direction, Yuina saw the jarring words, the decorated posters that boasted the league's statement of safety mitigation. They were everywhere, on every street corner, in every business... And everywhere she went, she heard the whispers, the dissent that was growing rapidly at the notion that the league would imprison a civilian for owning more than three Pokémon...[break][break]
She needed to know what this meant, she needed to know if it was true, if it was real... And it was daunting knowing how many league officials she didn't know to contact, and how fewer she felt she could actually trust...[break][break]

Noel rereads both the notice and 's memo one after the other. He just couldn't believe his eyes. None of this letter could be true. How could it? The organization he fought tooth and nail for couldn't possibly make such a terrible decision. And there was no way he would comply.[break][break]

If anyone, Rocket or League, tried to take his companions away from him, they wouldn't live to see another day.[break][break]

The notice lays crumpled in his fist, thrown away into the trash where it belonged. He needed answers, to know who was behind this decision. No matter who they may be, council or even the commissioner, herself, he'd wrangle the reasoning from their mouths. Silence would not be an acceptable form of answer to him.[break][break]
