Each strike they made was met with its unnaturally resilient, and painful, ROUGH SKIN. If it should die tonight, then it would leave scars for them to remember it by— and it would take the iron worm with it. Just before it could strike, a ferocious and ear-splitting roar escaped its maw when it was bitten with icy fang. Rather than sit there and take it, however, the abomination gripped its claws into the seams of the worm and wrestled around with it as others attempted to strike from the sidelines. In the chaotic tussle, it would not be beyond belief that teammate could accidentally strike upon teammate.[break][break]

Before long, however, the sun suddenly began to smite the earth below with its rays. This, in turn, manifested itself from the Druddigon's corrupted and shadowed scales as a very noticeable heat shimmer. Its blind fury suddenly fueled by an intense SOLAR POWER, the great beast released one of its clawed hands from the worm and clenched it tightly into a fist it would attempt to DRAIN PUNCH straight through the Steelix's right eye.[break][break]

And it would not stop until either it or the Steelix was dead.[break][break]

With Zekrom deftly facilitating their distance from the wiry titan as they flew, Remiel watched as the ex-champion, Talia Bosch, rode in on her Tropius mount with similarly suited reinforcements. The black dragon cleared the way as their hurricane of leaves attempted to impair its enemy. When it saw that they had failed, however, it made no pause in deciding to attack next. Remiel caught onto this fact with just enough time before it was executed; mostly thanks to Agnés private TELEPATHIC network.[break][break]

With the sun now beating down hot against them all, the royal wondered whether the Tropius remaining would take advantage and unleash a barrage of solar beams. But, as things were, he hardly had enough time warn the ex-champion and her entourage— much less make any additional suggestions. "Good of you to come, Miss Bosch, but clear the way!" When the Tropius valkyries did so, he pointed forward.[break][break]

And Agnés' Mega Stone powered attack filled the air with a beautiful shower of colorful, gleaming diamonds that would attempt to strike the Xurxitree in a wave along with its generals. Though the strange experiment didn't seem to have any eyes, the ambassador hoped the flash would nonetheless serve to temporarily blind it and Philomera to pave the way for the black dragon's judgement.[break][break]

Directly behind this stunning wave, and seemingly straight out of it, the ferocious Zekrom burst out and flew overhead, swerving past the tornado of electricity and  punishing the wiry titan below with an unrelenting DRAGON BREATH as its generator-like tail thrummed.[break][break]

Elsewhere, Faust and Gofannon had all but reached the border surrounding the now destroyed Power Plant. The former, now airborne with its MAGNET RISE (TURN 2), watched as his master and Zekrom attacked the unnatural Ultra Beast afar. Looking to help while the oddity was distracted, the Ampharos charged its orb and fired a prismatic SIGNAL BEAM at the Xurxitree's crystal-like head. Gofannon, in the meantime, struck down a small squad of Megalopolan trainers and pokémon ahead with a BREAKING SWIPE, pummeling them into the ground with a metallic groan.[break][break]

tl;dr: Shadowed Druddigon endures with its Rough Skin, tries to guard itself from other attacks with the Steelix clamped onto it. Groudon's bright sunlight strengthens the Shadowed Druddigon and it attempts to strike Steelix straight through the eye with a powerful Drain Punch, regaining health in the process. Meanwhile, Shiny Mega Gardevoir attempts to daze and damage Xurxitree and its riders with a souped up Dazzling Gleam. Shiny Zekrom rides in afterwards with a ferocious Dragon Breath. With its attention presumably turned, Ampharos flanks it with a Signal Beam. Duraludon attacks Megalopolan trainers and pokémon.[break][break]

The first of the scientist’s STEALTH ROCKS manage to batter the woman in mid-air, as chaos unfolds. Unfortunately, Katherine is incapable of evading them. She can’t see what’s coming, and she can’t prepare for it. Her Reuniclus's barrier shatters after sustaining a couple of hits, but it earns her some precious time to stare into the rifts more.

The red eyes continue to observe her in union, and as much as she’d like, she is unable to peel her gaze away from one of the approaching creatures.

It reveals itself, partially, but just enough so that her mind begins to race and jump to conclusions.

”Giratina?”

Her voice sank to a whisper, disbelief clinging to the name of the legendary pokemon. At first, Katherine is sure that her hand is shaking in awe, but she raises it nonetheless to touch the rift once more. However, the frozen breath of the crowned serpent alerts her that it’s more than just her nerves.

For all intents and purposes, it was attacking them. If they disturbed its rest, she could only imagine what its wrath might spell for them.

“Giratina, please—” Although she wants to plead with it and ask from it to stop, she can’t. There’s no time. The ice had already begun to form, and who knows how long it’d take before it turns them into frozen statues?

Luckily, it seemed as if Katherine’s pokemon wanted to live more than she did. She might have been curious, but her Reuniclus was frightened. A surge of a PSYCHIC force enveloped the group, shrouding them with its force.

It pushes them towards the same portal Lucas Lane was aiming for, with Dusknoir releasing the hold on its BLACKHOLE just in time for them to make the final push.

“Wait, stop! I want to speak to it!”

As self-destructive and suicidal as Katherine wanted to be, her Pokemon weren’t willing to give up on her life (or theirs) just yet.

"You've gotta be fucking kidding me!", Thomas called out upon seeing the Shadow Druddigon attack. His eye would take notice to the sick, corrupted aura of the beast. No doubt one of the corrupted Pokemon that Yveltal spoke of, in the last meeting they had on Mt. Pyre, before they all decided to fight it.

Thomas would quickly run over to board his Hydreigon again. The dark dragon, fueled by the darkest thoughts, was ready to make them a reality.
But before the Hydreigon could act on them, Thomas would send out Freke, his Alakazam. The Psychic-type had been waiting in the wings for a chance to wreak havoc on the enemy.

Thomas would see the abuse the Steelix was taking from the Shadow Fire, and the abuse it sustained from the hand of the Shadow Druddigon. Seeing as the corrupted Pokemon was seemingly on the verge of breaking free, Thomas turned back to his Clawitzer. "Colt, heal the Steelix!", called out the masked Kalosian.

The Clawitzer would fire off a Heal Pulse, backed by the power of Mega Launcher. If it wasn't a full heal, then it would give the steely serpent the boost it needed to survive the punishment it would be taking.

As Talia Bosch flew in with the cavalry of Tropius, Thomas grinned. "Fuck yeah!", he commented, appreciative of the added help. But as the attack of the Xurkitree came in, frying all unfortunate enough to end up in its path, Thomas, Kalameet, Freke, and Colt desperately scrambled to avoid the electrical arcs.

"Now!", Thomas called out, having seen an opening.

Upon positioning themselves to where they thought the electrical arcs would miss them, Freke would fire off a burst of Expanding Force at the leg of the behemoth. Kalameet, in turn, would attempt to trip it up by erupting an Earth Power from under its foot, the power boosted by the prior Nasty Plot.

The tension in the spinning vortex becomes evident; the two largely ignore the interloper that is Gavin as his Corviknight relinquishes its evolutionary strength and fights to stabilize itself. Gavin listens, rather than interjecting, though little information is gained beyond one crucial fact: Lane knew about Blacephalon.[break][break]

That could be a problem.[break][break]

More pressing was the sinister gaze of the creature beyond the portal. Katherine calls it by name, something like awe colouring her tone. It isn't admiration but alarm that surges through Gavin as Giratina slams itself against the rift. It reminds Gavin of a Combee battering itself against a window, though considerably more threatening. Then he's reminded of his corrupted Sandslash as frost begins to burn a path across his skin. He clenches his jaw to stop his teeth from shattering and instinctively braces himself against the bitter winds. He had been cold in Shoal Cave, in seeking Articuno, but he'd been prepared for it then. Now, his clothes make for a poor barrier against the Pokemon's assault.[break][break]

"Speak to it?" The cold sees the words pass through gritted teeth. A hint of his Galarian ancestry colours an accusation: "Are you mad? It's trying to kill us."[break][break]

Unable to whistle properly, he instead snaps his fingers next to Corvinight's ear and points toward Katherine, then the wormhole's exit. "Stick with her!" He won't abandon her to face this hell alone. If she stayed, so would he. Corviknight shrieks its displeasure as the ice coats its metal wings, ENDURING the cold as best it could. Should Katherine's Pokemon be successful in pulling her toward the portal, bird and rider would not be far behind.[break][break]

Trying a creative use of ENDURE on Corviknight to hopefully lessen the effects of the icy winds! Gavin's just shivering and regretting his life choices. He urges Katherine Fairburne against trying to stay behind but will follow her regardless of her decision because the Rocket fam gotta stick together.[break][break]

It was only by sheer happenstance and luck that Adrian and his assembled team were not consumed by the lightning ravaging the landscape, spared from the violent waves of debris by way of Omen's defenses and the arrangement of his pokemon all around him. After the initial surge subsided, Adrian could feel his fingers trembling as he reached for a pokeball, knowing better than to risk Gyarados here. "Furor, get some REST."
You've earned it. The battle weary pokemon compulsively falls asleep just before it is siphoned away into its ball.[break][break]

Adrian is still not yet sure how to continue, paralyzed by fear. If he cannot rely on Furor's strength, there is little else in his hand he can play, and with next to nothing else up his sleeve... He felt truly at the mercy of this titanic, gangling beast. And that inferiority made him livid; if not with circumstance, then perhaps himself. With a fist clutched at his side until the skin pulled taut and was streaked with white, Adrian cursed his uselessness.[break][break]

But more than that he was invariably afraid in light of his own weakness.[break][break]

To the West, something began to stir, perhaps not with the stature to match the Megalopolan giant, but the intensity. Towards the Power Plant, ever more was their Hoennian skyline torn along the veil, rendering more portholes between unwelcome worlds. And he could do naught but watch and wait, to die or survive only by merit of his own insignificance as the waking giants began to lumber across the earth. Can I really do nothing to stop it?[break][break]

"Vixen, Heal Bell. Omen, Reflect. Karma..." Though his orders are sound, his tone is disparate, wistful and lacking conviction or confidence. Though they obey, they begin to grow worried, aside from Karma. His Alakazam has achieved a state of calm that cannot be diminished by even the heaven's lament. It raises its stainless steel catalysts for the use of TELEPORT, though the need never arises.[break][break]
