Lava surges out of the crater— but stray splashes are diverted by

OSHAWOTT delivers fierce
RAZOR SHELLS to fend off the lava too alongside
Remiel Calcifet's
PALOSSAND and its
EARTH POWER. Furthermore,
siobhan burke's
DRAGAPULT is able to harden some of the lava thanks to rapid cooling from its
HYDRO PUMP before it can lash out onto anyone's Pokemon.[break][break]

MOUNT while they fly toward the peak. She and several other trainers attempt to distract or heal the behemoth. An
AROMATHERAPY from the doctor's Pokemon wafts toward the creature and themselves. Likewise,

Greyson Connors wrap themselves in an
AROMATHERAPY wreath thanks to the latter's Pokemon. Thankfully,

HEALING MIST keeps
Greyson Connors cool and safe from

Hideo Kino finds himself atop Mt. Chimney. Hoenn sprawls out before him— but there is no time to admire the view from this peak. A Groudon rampages before him and as

PHANTUMP FAINTS from the heat thanks to its valiant transport, he witnesses
Ruby Walker's

THE ARTIFICIAL SUN

Several attacks are made at the
ARTIFICIAL SUN. However, as the moves land, the ensuing result betrays expectation.
Amor Rose's
GALLADE's PSYCHO CUT phases in and out of the sun— and the Pokemon looks alarmed as it leaps back down. Likewise,
DRAGON DARTS fly into the
ARTIFICIAL SUN— but do not detonate. A
SOAKED DEREK HOFFMAN releases their
MACHAMP. After it hauls a gargantuan boulder into its arms, the
MACHAMP uses STRENGTH to toss it into the sun. That too, phases in with a
BLIP!.[break][break]
While
Victor Wexler takes a successful selfie (it's in focus!), he notices
Ruby Walker's
SHADOW TOGEKISS firing a potent
AURA SPHERE into the
ARTIFICIAL SUN. He too, notices that the attack
SLIPS RIGHT IN as if entering a rift.
BOULDERS are tossed toward the sun by @tadashiootori's
COPPERAJAH— but they are not immune to the sun's rift-like properties.[break][break]

mint frost scale the mountain and pass by a stretch of past-jungle. The occasional dry shrub bursts into flames from the heat. Thankfully,
mint frost's
SNOM dusts them in
POWDER SNOWS while
aaron faust's
FERALIGATR SLASHES through the thicket. [break][break]

In this area of the past, suddenly, they see projectiles
WARP above them as they fall toward the earth in which they stand upon. A
PSYCHO CUT lands beside
aaron faust, causing dirt and debris to erupt from the ground.
DRAGON DARTS shriek as they dive toward the group. Immediately after,
A LARGE BOULDER. Then an
AURA SPHERE and other
BOULDERS. Like mortar fire, the group finds themselves bombarded by attacks sent from the present to the past.[break][break]
Intermittently, they are doused in the rains of
Remiel Calcifet's
KINGDRA's RAIN DANCE.[break][break]
With defensive measures, they will be able to reach the top of the mountain and act upon Groudon or anything else in the same post. However, their location has become a friendly-fire warzone.[break][break]
THE TARGETED

Remiel Calcifet is able to ride on
SPECTRIER toward the rear of the beast. Her
STARLY uses
DOUBLE TEAM as it notices the
RED LASER POINTER DOTS on both
Remiel Calcifet and
FERNANDO SILPH— but the
PIDGEOT erroneously throws a
SAND ATTACK on the wrong culprit.[break][break]
As
FERNANDO SILPH's
ZYGARDE and
GARCHOMP attempt to divert magma spill— his
TAPU FINI notices that its owner is being targeted. But by what?[break][break]
ATTACKING THE RED ORB
MATIAS SILPH Andy Blackadder
While
MATIAS SILPH is wreathed in
TAILWINDS and
SAFEGUARDS, his
CHARIZARD MEGA EVOLVES. A stunning light consumes the fiery reptile before it emerges as a
CHARIZARD Y. Similarly,
Andy Blackadder's
GENGAR MEGA EVOLVES TOO. As its maw expands into an endless abyss, it attempts to strike or pull the
RED ORB from the
GROUDON's back.[break][break]
Others attempt to
PSYCHIC or
PLUCK the orb. Those who do, may notice that the artificial sun reacts to each attack. Each strike causes it to wince or distort slightly in shape.[break][break]
However, the
ATTACKS that come from a
MEGA EVOLVED POKEMON cause the
SUN to REACT VIOLENTLY. Only
MATIAS SILPH and Andy Blackadder would be able to clue in to this relationship, for the heat of battle makes it hard to discern the causality between actions. As the
GROUDON shifts in its chamber to protect itself from the onslaught, the
HURRICANE and
POLTERGEIST make contact— and cause the
ARTIFICIAL SUN to pulse and bloom. Each time, a violent crashing sound rings out in the air as the sky above
OPENS UP TO A PAST HOENN SKY before
REVERTING BACK TO THE PRESENT. Glimpses of the
PAST HOENN SKY reveal a large spherical body in faded colour against the bright blue sky before the sky shifts back to the present.[break][break]

THE GROUDON is furious by everyone's attacks. Unwilling to listen to rhyme or reason, the Groudon roars— and the
SUN EXPANDS. Like a cancerous growth or beholder of plasma, the artificial sun looms above and looks unstable. A high-pitched wailing accompanies the formation of several bulbs on the sun: the beginnings of
SOLAR BEAMS.[break][break]
Like a prism reflecting several beams of light,
COUNTLESS SOLAR BEAMS begin to fire into the group from the sun. Being struck will instantly faint your Pokemon or hurt yourselves immensely.[break][break]
At the same time, a
SHOT is fired. A
HIDDEN POWER is
PROTECTED AGAINST by
FERNANDO SILPH's
TAPU FINI— an action made easier and possible thanks to @jess'
STARLY. The dot on
Remiel Calcifet is curiously pulled away, for
aaron faust's
BRAIXEN notices a white-haired man clothed in dark clothes in the brush. An
UNOWN R accompanies him— and as
SOLAR BEAMS fire, the man's
UNOWN fires a
HIDDEN POWER at
aaron faust and his
BRAIXEN.[break][break]

The
UNOWN moves in front of him. Suddenly, they flatten into a 2D wall of black. On it, a symbol manifests before the flat plane shatters into nothingness. An unconventional teleport.[break][break]
WITHIN THE JUNGLE

CURIOUSLY, within the mountain, a stretch of the past does not make it above land. Here, in this lush Hoenn jungle, they encounter
CRADILY and
ANORITH. The air is thick and humid here. Hot too— but attributing it solely to the atmosphere of prehistoric Hoenn or the volcanic mountain that they are in proves to be difficult.[break][break]
While
Zac Ramsay's
HEATRAN attempts to find a weak point in the volcanic shaft, he joins
zenji jabami,
Asriel Pryde, and
giona ferrara in the "scenic route." As they venture deeper, the
PINK CREATURE appears again. It floats in the air freely. Encased in a clear bubble, the
MEW continues to float away as if leading them. Only
zenji jabami would know what this creature is thanks to his studies.[break][break]
They near a clearing and before anyone can react, a gruff voice roars out from the jungle and at the sound, the
MEW TELEPORTS in a flash. From the wood, a fiery looking man, covered head to toe in
MARKINGS like a PRIMAL GROUDON's emerges. Bearded and wielding a staff, the man stands before them before casting his hand in a curved swing. Behind them,
A CURVED WALL OF RED STONE IS ERECTED to block their exit in this glade.[break][break]
"how dare you trespass the sacred land of the draconids?!" he roars as the wall behind them emanates an intensifying heat.[break][break]
