HERO PATH
Were he to go down a do-gooder path similar to some of the hero/vigilante-esque figures on site, this is what Derek would look like from his current age to his late 30s (left) and his early 40s onward (right) with a secret identity. That visor would shield his face so people can't confirm his identity, contrary to the left pic.

ROGUE PATH
The most likely of the two, Derek eventually derails from working as a Ranger and becomes an Officer (or something else) instead. Those red eyes are a telltale sign of REDACTED. Measures current age to his late 30s (left) and his early 40s onward (right) with an open identity.
