mantine surfing is so fun, he hears no one say ever.

he looks around to see what the general consensus for the sport was, and most of them just wanted to do the magikarp splash for the sake of doing it.

can't blame them though since he's in the same position.

She's got a bone to pick with this whole Arceus damned Mantine Surfing contest. As if sensing her mood, the Mantine quietens under Skyler's feet and heads back to the waves without hesitation.

Over-The-Gyarados was their saving grace. Not Magikarp Splash and not even Starmie 720. For whatever reason... Over-The-Gyarados was all Katherine and her Mantine managed to perform. Successfully, that is. And at a good rate, too. Which is why it comes as no surprise that when she taps the water-type's back, she instructs it with a nod to attempt the trick once more.

Another failure, another red tint to his skin as he swam mildly painfully back to his Mantine, and he sighed as he took a breather. This trick was much harder than even the Magikarp Splash. That one had only taken him a couple of tries, but he would get this down if it was the last thing that he did! So he urged the Mantine on full speed to hit the next wave, because this time they would get it! It was time they finally got the Over the Gyrados!

Josh had to stop Lightning from zapping it for, apparently, being a smartass. Dragging the Raichu back onto the Mantine, they would hit the next wave and attempt another unfortunate Magikarp Splash.

The docks leading to the Mantine Surfing area were getting busier, with competitors scrambling to get as many attempts as possible before the looming deadline. Shalin, on the other hand, just wanted to cast off from the docks and have fun with a Mantine. That was it - after the festival was over, if the Mantine were going to be mass released, she would ask the festival organizers if she could catch one of them. But for now, another attempt at the elusive MAGIKARP SPLASH...
