mantine had taken her up over the wave, but their trick had been a flop! one wobbly attempt at a flip and they'd plummeted back into the ocean like a heavy brick. [break][break]
slicking sea-soaked hair back, annalise takes a steadying breath and pats mantine to encourage it to get back out there and try again. [break][break]they enter another wave, surfing along its side for a moment before mantine shoots up to try a primarina twist again.

Hideo could hear the crowd cheer as his doppelganger cleared its first trick. His Beheeyem informed him it was a very impressive twist, though probably something that he wouldn't be able to do properly on his own. It wasn't something he'd argue with, but perhaps one day, he would learn how to do Mantine surfing.

Preferably after he learned how to properly swim.

This time, the Hideo on the Mantine attempted a more adventurous trick, going for a Primarina Twist.

Letting Jonesy sit this one out, the Sobble watched Derek from the shore while enjoying his favorite flavor of ice cream. Watching many of the others fail the magikarp splash, the gym leader wonders if he should give it a try as well...

He'd failed once already, right? So it wouldn't be anything new for the people to see. With that in mind, Derek sets out for his wave and attempts a MAGIKARP SPLASH once he and the Mantine become airborne.

Well, the first and simplest trick was done. And Asher was just getting back into the groove of things. Ah...one of the few good memories he had of home...this was bringing back memories. Including a couple of terrifying ones, but those were far fewer and far between. Landing back in the water, he waited for a larger wave to do the next trick, the slightly tougher Lanturn 360. Funny, he just got a Chinchou not that long ago. And Chinny was going to be one of his Contest Pokemon. Even if he was mostly a fire type trainer. Soon, he found a great wave to do it with. Manuevering over to it, he started to pick up speed. Then he went up into the air. A backflip first, a front flip second, and then a full 360 flip! The landing was usually trickiest on this one...

And consequently face planted into the water...

Emboldened by his success on the first trick, Jack turns the Mantine and heads for a large wave that is beginning to break. His stomach drops again as they leave the water and he gently uses his knees to direct the Mantine to begin the series of spins. Three backflips later and his head is spinning as they head into the final move to execute a Magikarp Splash
