Eva hasn’t been to Rustboro in quite some time. When word of an eleventh distortion reaches her, she’s off as fast as she can to the town so she doesn’t miss it.

The professor has collected enough samples of the Hisui pokemon to know what she needs. Eva came prepared with her Stantler. During the last distortion, it picked up an interesting move, one she witnessed in the Wrydeer of Shalin Nariya. Against the harsh winds and amongst the rage of the distortion, Eva releases her Stantler that is immediately consumed by the energies around them.

The evolution is familiar, and from the bright light steps a elder deer, with an ivory coat and impressive set of horns stretching tall from her skull. She dips down the nab a GREEN SHARD before she climbs up onto the Wyrdeer. She drives her heels into the beast’s belly. She lunges forward, cantering through the Distortion, tracing the edges as they GATHER DATA for their upcoming meeting with illeana reyes and angelo vestri to finally put the final pieces of the puzzle together.

Rustboro sucks and she hates it here.[break][break]

The only thing that could drag her into the city where she'd had her heart smashed to pieces is the obligation of work. Recruitment, more PR paperwork...it's all the same, really.[break][break]

But as soon as she hears the rumble of thunder, too close to have come from the heavens, she knows what's going on. Only now she feels too tired, too drained to do anything about it. At least she has a good excuse to reschedule her lunch meeting now, and hopefully next time one can be arranged closer to home.[break][break]

Hurried steps carry her through the unnatural gloom and errant, crackling light. On her way, she nearly trips over a shard— green, this time, and pockets it. There's a bit of dirt under her nails as she continues to flee, summoning her Altaria after a moment to quickly sweep her up, up, and away to safety.[break][break]

Julia found herself in Rustboro when a space-time distortion cracked its skies. For a moment, her thoughts turned toward the state of the region, how she still didn't know if the fractured air was a cause or a symptom of Hoenn's destabilization. But she swept those aside, for thinking about them wouldn't accomplish anything. Instead, she held her hands over her Poké Ball belt, ready for whatever the distortion threw at her this time.

[break][break]Movement caught the corner of her eye, and she spun toward it, expecting something to lunge at her. Instead, she saw a flash of purple vanish into a metallic shell, which wobbled with a clatter against Rustboro's quarried stone paths. Behind it, its eyes glowing an enraged red, was a huge Infernape. Its crimson gaze rose from the hiding Pokémon to Julia for a tense instant before it screeched and charged at her.

[break][break]"Sparkie, Sweet Kiss!" she shouted as she threw the Alolan Raichu's Poké Ball. Sparkie's fur bristled with surprise at her current situation, but she quickly blew an angelic kiss at the Infernape to confuse it. It skidded to a stop, stars dancing in its eyes, and Julia took that opening to shout, "Now Psychic!"

[break][break]The telekinetic attack knocked the Infernape to the ground, where it remained for long enough for Julia to relax. "Great job, Sparkie," she said, scratching behind her Pokémon's ear. Sparkie squeaked with shy joy at the affection.

[break][break]The metal-shelled Pokémon finally peered out from its Shelter, its four horns feeling around the air. It looked almost just like a Sliggoo. Was that shell part of its body? Julia tossed a Poké Ball at it, and sure enough, the shell was sucked in with it.

[break][break]With her new friend and a Green Shard in tow, Julia emerged from the purplish membrane.

Rustboro was pretty far from Ruby's usual stomping grounds, but a job was a job. It just figured that cracks spider-webbed across the sky while she was there, summoning a stormy space-time distortion. She could have joined the evacuees and just not dealt with this, but honestly? Beating down some space-and-time-displaced Pokémon was pretty fun. Plus, it was good training.

[break][break]The air fizzled, and a familiar shape took form: a Kleavor, the Pokémon that Grimm had evolved into inside one of these distortions. Ruby smirked and tossed out Grimm's Poké Ball. "Let's show this thing who's boss," she said.

[break][break]The two Pokémon's Black Augurite axes clashed with glorious clangs. Chips of their bodies clattered to the ground, leaving sharp points behind on the combatants' axes. Ruby commanded Grimm to use Swords Dance, and the other Kleavor took the opening to slash with a Stone Axe. Grimm's eyes flashed with rage, and with a cry, she lunged at her doppelganger with a strengthened Stone Axe of her own. The wild fell to the ground, unconscious.

[break][break]"Nice," Ruby said. Grimm, her battle frenzy quelled, nodded. With that done, Ruby grabbed one of those weird Green Shards and headed out.

this is where he should be visiting CIAN MAHER for any shenanigans he has in mind, but a distraction comes to delay the inevitable.

the distortion happening inside the city was dangerous, and kyle's unlucky appearance brings him to arms to defend the citizens.

as he wanders around looking for people that didn't find the time yet to evacuate, he comes across MATIAS SILPH. he looks at his strange ZORKAR, and then back to his, who had apparently changed formes amid the action.

the entire place was under a shitstorm, like, it's supposed to be normal by now, but it still doesn't cease to amaze priam whenever it happens.

it still felt weird to walk through them, and the tingle on his skin doesn't seem natural at all. it's like he's living a dream again, except you're not supposed to feel things during one but he definitely is right now.

as the panic ensues, priam takes the opportunity to break into one of the expensive cafes whose doors were left wide open by the panic. he goes in and takes a few cake slices for takeout while his zoroark guards, its illusion helping them escape aggression from the wild pokemon.

"aight, i got 'em!" he tells his pokemon as he rushes out. it's cake night for him and bryan delarosa tonight. "go, go, go!"

it's his first experience to be in a space-time distortion, and it's everything that he's read off from the internet.

eyes were wide as he finally gets clearance to act inside these zones without much worries from his bosses. he's proven he can deal with disasters inside without much problem, and that he can do stuff without looking like a dweeb now.

as he sets in, however, he finds more bewilderment than the phenomenon itself.

it's so nice to see that even civilians can hold their own without much trouble. the heads of the ranger association must care a lot for their people if they want them to be extra mindful that their people don't get hurt in an environment where even people that don't look like they have experience in the battlefield can hold their own.

By the time the Unown’s voice ring in his mind with warnings of the space-time distortion about to become active in Rustboro City, it’s too late.

The south of Petalburg City was in shambles from the Space-Time Distortion Josh had just escaped with Sasha Huang . And now there was another over Rustboro City, right when he had an emergency and his Pokémon team was on the cusp of serious, perhaps even irreversible injury? The Mauville Leader withdrew Clyde and transferred to his Manectric's back, the healthy Pokémon QUICK ATTACKing his way to Rustboro.

Once he was on the scene, there was little to do, thankfully; the Distortion was already fading away, swaths of Alpha Pokémon already vanishing in the light. The damage had already been done, though he did manage to scoop up a curious GREEN SHARD before the erratic timespace faded.
