As she circled the vessel aboard Pharika, Shalin was discovering just how unusual the Dragalge was as a mount. It felt a lot like being atop a more narrow-bodied Kingdra. Her small size was what largely made this possible; a larger trainer wouldn't have been able to fit their entire body onto the poison-type swimmer. She wished she had brought a Lanturn to be able to help see as the two descended. The seas were starting to get a little cool for the rider's tastes.

The wonders beneath Hoenn's waves never ceased to amaze Shalin; she just wished she had a wider variety of aquatic Pokémon that were adept at diving so deep. The only ones she had that could do so were the three she brought with her. They would do nice work, particularly Pharika! She had a very special weapon; she was one of the few aquatic Pokémon capable of discharging a potent THUNDERBOLT while underwater. It would be a weapon she would have to very careful in discharging; with the very environment being a stellar conductor, the harm the electric bomb would inflict would go well beyond its blast radius.

With how close the perimeter was to the dig team, everyone on her side of the dig would be electrocuted. That was not acceptable. The way the water-types were closing in with PIN MISSILE and CRUNCH attacks, though, she might not have a choice. SHe had to make a move, and fast. "Defense Team, this is Shalin Nariya. Someone cover for me," she requested over defense team comms. "I'm going to lure the school away and take out as many of them as I can, over!"

The rider squeezed her Dragalge's sides, Pharika breaking ranks and using her imposing figure to lure as many of the Carvanha and Qwilfish toward her. Once she was satisfied with how many had gathered around her, it was time to unleash her payload.

"Pharika, use DRAGON PULSE!"

Shalin and her ride glowed with purple dragon energy, the wilds charging her in a desperate attempt to interrupt it. The girl braced herself as Pharika released the ADAPTABILITY-enhanced shockwave, strong vibration from its buildup and discharge rattling her body and leaving her short of breath.

Oh right, Izumi Yamamura was here too. So the parents were babysitting. At least Lightning would be too busy with its hands full to have separation anxiety. Course, Izumi had decided to go on the other team instead. Decided that diving and exploring was more her thing, while hubby's thing was more protecting. But Izumi's presence came with a reminder that he'd forgotten his armband to mark what team he was on. "Right, looks like I got a touch distracted. Thanks honey" Josh spoke up, sneaking a peck on her lips with no care as to if anyone was looking. The kids weren't around, so he had no qualms about being openly affectionate.

"The new toys should be waterproofed well enough" Josh answered Izumi's question as he would get up and help her to adjust her own visor. Now that he had tested it himself, he had an idea of how to do it for her. In the background, he noted the presence of that one Wledig guy who he kept running into, with the last name he couldn't pronounce properly -- who looked like he had come from medieval times and seemed as much out of place as someone from that era too. Poor lad, he just needed a friend. But maybe one day @gywar up the courage to actually come and say hi.

Soon enough, they were ready to rumble. The group would quickly submerge, and find themselves going fairly deep in the process...

Pin Missile always carried a distinctive sound, one that Josh knew at the drop of a hat. Josh had established a separate comm with Izumi Yamamura in particular before they had left using the HoloVision tech, and hopefully it would come in handy.

"Ice Beam!" Josh called out the moment that he sent out his Blastoise. Underwater, this would be able to be used to form a wall to give them some cover from the Pin Missile barrage. "Hydro Pump!" came the next command as Bastilo, his Blastoise, launched an attack from a gap in the ice wall.

Huh, first time diving with proper equipment. A little constrictive, but not exactly a prohibitive cost when the alternative was drowning.

As they all slipped into the water, Gwyar's descent was assisted by his Empoleon and glowing Aegislash.

With paxton concordas and Professor Remzi instructing both groups on what to do, all there was left for the knight was to follow instructions. Only made somewhat daunting by the myriad of shiny gleaming eyes that suddenly opened within the dark, giving him pause.

... Well that couldn't be good.

"Please do watch over me." Gwyar said to Caladbolg as the blue crew approached the algae covered structures, humming. "Deep sea diving is not part of my core skillset..."

On cue, his Aegislash moved suddenly to stand between him and the myriad of eyes, its glow growing stronger as Qwilfish and Carvanha came out to protect their reef.

Like a deep sea lantern, the sword suddenly spotlighted an object/creature (?) in the far distance, trying to prompt the pokemon away from its trainer while the blonde worked on the debris, pulling at it with muscle and buoyancy both.

The man briefly glanced over at Eva Morales and quirked a brow with a grin— not that the Professor would be able to see that.

"Oh? And here I was convinced you could breath underwater." He hummed while looking over her equipment, recalling their last little job together near Pacifidlog.
