SILPH CUP 2023 AT FORTREE GYM

[nospaces] [attr="class","omgen"] [attr="class","omgentop"]CHASE FOR THE SILPH CUP [attr="class","omgenmid"] FORTREE CITY MEMBER-LED EVENT STARTS MARCH 6 ENDS LATE MAY [player]https://fi.zophar.net/soundfiles/nintendo-gamecube-gcn/f-zero-gx/210a%20-%20One%20Ahead%20System%20%28Cosmo%20Terminal%29.mp3[/player] One Ahead System - F-ZERO GX OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK FORTREE CITY[break] Ordeal[break] Difficulty: ★★★★★☆[break] COURSE RECORD: 05'36"690[break][break] HIGH WIND WARNING THE BIRDFATHER, Alexei Ivanov , WAS NOT AFRAID to test Federation safety limits with his special version of the Ordeal course. As if the whiplashing turns in the opening stretch weren't challenging enough, several of his Gym Pokémon started beating their wings harshly to generate a TAILWIND intended to tighten up the field and make the race as close as possible. Racers that used Pokémon in front of them as shields had a golden opportunity to make up heaps of lost time, so long as they remained ready to weave out of the way at a sharp angle in the event disaster struck for the team in front of them.[break][break]
UTILIZING THE WINDSHIELD that was the race's frontrunners, lam logan guided his TERASTAL TALONFLAME toward the inside line, the fire-type falcon cutting through the vicious winds as though they weren't there. Using the wake of @elio 's and Andrea Vaneau 's GYARADOS as cover, several teams farther back made their own moves. Julia Davis and her SALAMENCE nimbly DRAGON DANCING among the currents the Fortree Leader's flying-types challenged them with. Elise Calcifet and SONIKKU flew in the wake of El Sunderland 's TOGEKISS, their own NOIVERN and TOGEKISS narrowly avoiding unseating their riders from the abrupt maneuver needed to dodge the cosplayer's red, flying serpent that had been blown wildly off course from a gigantic gust of wind. [break][break] THE POKEMON AT THE FRONT OF THE FIELD had it the hardest, having to handle the full force of the crosswind. In a maneuver that got only Alexei Ivanov 's fans excited, he and his SALAMENCE surged ahead of alec foster and his TERASTAL DRAGONITE, weaving about in an odd pattern as though they knew exactly where the wind currents would be. Some would call it cheating; others, home field advantage. The dueling dragons both surged up the leaderboards, in an intense battle for THIRD PLACE as they passed a lot of other traffic. He could see the SHADOW TALONFLAME of kyle lopez and the TERASTAL DRAGONAIR of Josh Devlin duking it out for the lead, the two soaring through the ups, downs, and laterals of the wind tunnel with mind-blowing precision. One of the commentators in particular remarked it was a minor miracle that the Top Champion's bird didn't clip a wing. It gave them some added room to hold off the Master of Faster and his floating serpentine dragon.[break][break]
Andrea Vaneau 's SHINY GYARADOS wasn't the only Pokémon that had trouble adapting to the wind. Though the cosplayer's aggressive and reckless attempt to control DRAGON DANCE in such vicious winds was the primary reason her mount nearly went flying out of bounds, the boisterous oscar clayton and his BEEDRILL had their own difficulty controlling the added pace of AGILITY. The GMH executive avoided being made a pancake against a wall of trees by remaining in the slipstream of MATIAS SILPH and his DRAGONITE, zipping out of the way of the unstable dragon at the last moment. Unable to control its own flight, the orange Pokémon scraped branch after branch, several large limbs dropping in its wake. The two were able to get back on course, but not after falling to the middle of the pack. [break][break]
GOING INTO THE COURSE'S LONGEST STRAIGHTAWAY, Alexei Ivanov was the only racer that enjoyed open airspace; there were big battles for position everywhere. For all the racers in the back except Andrea Vaneau , the competition was so close that several had to fly above one another to get enough room to pitch and roll around the mean curves. The difference between the seventh-place @elio and the twelfth place Elise Calcifet was a mere four-tenths. If oscar clayton could handle the sudden acceleration his BEEDRILL was capable of, he could steal fifth place from lam logan . Try as Josh Devlin might, the Emergent's blazing bird cut his DRAGONAIR off at every moment, desperate to hold onto the lead going into the race's midway point.[break][break]
LAP 2 | OBSTACLE 2
Prompt: After a long series of wild turns, both in and after the wind tunnel the Gym's Pokémon had created, came the longest straightaway on the entire course. It was wide, too; the entire field could fly alongside one another, if they truly wanted to, and its gentle left turn meant the inside line was less important than it was on other parts of the course. It would be a great place for Pokémon pushed to their limits to glide at high speed and catch their breath, or for those with confidence in their mounts' endurance, give it everything they had. They just needed to make sure they weren't fighting traffic by the end; the course narrowed significantly as it looped back into the woods, and the most brutal curves on the entire course loomed ahead![break][break]
