It was pretty obvious that had monopolized the group's attention. Some looked at her with clear annoyance. Others looked at her with disdain. Some even took on a more patronizing tone, comparing her to a puppy trying to be intimidating.[break][break]

In lieu of all these, Isaac just shot her an easygoing grin. With a casual lob of a Pokeball, what appeared to be an iron Hariyama appeared before him. Its hands rotated around its body like a pair of massive satellites while it stood at attention. It was one part friendly bonding to one part subtle reminder that she wasn't some special, unique war goddess.[break][break]

Isaac always did prefer to kill 'em with kindness.[break][break]

Outside of her outburst, the main topic of the day was what they were even doing here. seemed to think they'd fight to the (metaphorical?) death until only three remained. Seemed like a waste of good manpower to Isaac, and a single trio of Rockets could never live up to the task of facing every Avatar. Good ol' figured it'd be more about gauging teamwork than shaving down the numbers.[break][break]

"I'm with you on this one," Isaac said. "Pretty sure we're in this together. And that means if you all waste this time showing off or standing around, you're gonna be on the back foot."[break][break]

"Now's our chance to get to know each other before they throw us into the thick of it."

Among the crowd of Rocket initiates, not all of them stood out. Although one could argue Saki stood out precisely because of how plain she was. Quiet, fairly short, and with a dull, lifeless expression. Not even trying to avoid attention, showing not a trace of the shyness or timidity her hairstyle may imply, simply standing with polite, formal posture.

What she did, however, was observe. And of course, any observer couldn't miss Xenon. A warm, serene smile spread across her lips. Quite the character; she was hooked already. Just where would this woman's story take her? Saki opened her mouth a little, then covered the lower half of her face with her hand, silently mouthing 'shut up' to herself.

The others' comments drew her attention, but not a response. All this talk about backing up one's words, she found agreeable. The best course of action here was to keep one's head down and just show results. At least, that's what she'd thought going into this. Albert's comment flicked a lightswitch in her brain, and she scowled for a split second. Of course, teamwork. Which meant, of course, socialisation. Only one way she knew how do that...

With a gentle expression, she first approached Violet, clasping her hands together softly. "Yeah, it's gonna be challenging, for sure. I think that's why we should all relax, though. Even for something serious, it'll work out if you approach it calmly and confidently. Don't you agree?" Saki gave the other girl a friendly, gentle smile, then glanced over to the side. "Speaking of which..."

She then walked off, with a vague beckoning gesture, but she didn't expect Violet to follow, especially since she was headed over to Xenon. "A girl with your eyes on the future, huh? I guess that makes two of us." Saki glanced over to Isaac and his Pokemon with a subtle smirk. "Or maybe three?" She chuckled, a dark glitter in her eyes. "So you're gonna be the star of this event, are you? Sounds like it's in my best interest to stick close. Maybe I'll get to learn a thing or two by watching you work. Especially with the amazing Pokemon you've got there."

Just the way she wanted, all eyes were on her as the more interesting folk among them took offense to her words. Yet even with all the hostility of the murderers and psychos in the room directed solely at her, she still smiles as she sticks out her tongue mockingly and laughs aloud at everything and everyone. calls her a crazy bitch, all she has to say to that is "The primitives always call the ultramodernists crazy."

bumps her shoulder trying to rattle her, yet she's unphased as she smiles and waves at the man passing by, and his Dragonite almost come at her full force, she's ready to brawl as she stares at the two with that ever confident smile as Rhodium's heads mechanically turn and settle upon the duo with crimson red lights. Some like take the bait just like she wanted, screaming at her to put up or shut up, all she does then is laugh and mockingly flip the bird to escalate tensions even further. It's almost like she wants to start a fight in this room before the tests even start, almost like she's trying to thin the herd and make sure the monitor's have an extra special eye on her.

Others try to downplay her or ignore her outright, those ones are deemed worthless garbage in her mind, already crunched and thrown into the pile as they should be.

But the one who catches her attention the most is undoubtedly as he releases his Iron Hands, her eyes widening behind her glasses as she pushes off of Rhodium and rushes over to, no, past the boy as she shoves him aside and starts examining the steel sumo. "Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! I didn't think I'd see another ultramodernist Pokemon like my own here, I'm so glad to see not everyone in this room is a worthless pile of trash!" She almost doesn't even notice as she approaches, but for just a moment she turns to the girl with a manic look, smile wider than ever as she claps her on the shoulder. "Absolutely wonderful, a truly contemporary time! You have one too don't you, ah we're definitely going to have to get together and collate our studies, there's so much data to be sorted through, I really feel like I'm close to a break through on the Ultramodern Paradoxes! That's what I've come to call them, Paradox Pokemon is too close to those worthless primitive pokemon that others have been finding from the past."

While he had intended to partake in conversation, something or someone caught his attention.

.

It had been ages since he had talked with the guy, and from here it seemed like he had caught one of those super fancy machine Pokemon. So, without further ado, he peaced out of the previous group and went over to Isaac.

But by the time he got there the young man had found unfortunate company in the loudmouthed machine freak. Gerald hoped that his presence would ease the mind of Isaac a little bit.

He raised his hand in a greeting wave as he came closer a friendly "Why am i not surprised you caught one of those Paradox Pokemon as well."

He retrieved a Pokeball from one of his suit pockets and allowed a robotic Iron Moth to appear by his side. It greeted Isaac and the Iron hands with happy beeps until it noticed Xenon and froze. Though its robotic face betrayed little emotion an increasing beat of energy through its wings did let on that it wasn't exactly happy to see the woman again.

"If you aren't too busy after this, I would love to have mine spar against yours." His previously false smile had turned genuine with the presence of Isaac, and one could even confuse his voice for being eager at the idea of a spar.

“Oi, Whitie!” Hitoshi chuckles, focusing much of his attention on the man who bumped his shoulder. The dog has a near supernatural ability to filter out things he won’t understand. Much of the chatter with the woman in glasses and the other Rockets is above him – so far above him that he simply does not acknowledge them as a part of his world. His is a world of blood, death, and steel. Ideals are meaningless in his world. Any higher calling of Rocket, anything so human as revenge, conditional love, ambition, power…[break]
Those things are meaningless to him. He exists to swing his blade. He exists to elevate another. Ambition is pointless for one such as him. The warrior, at least, understands. A fellow fighter. A fellow killer. Hitoshi can sniff the blood on him. It’s old, obscured, but it’s there. It makes him comfortable, puts him at ease.[break]
“You know some of the people here, yeah? Introduce me to ‘em. Who do you think I should be throwin’ my sword in with? Seems kinda unfair to the rest of these clowns if you n’ me team up.”

this was the so-called 'litter' of team rocket. they were pups to be assessed and graded on their worth; to be taught the consequences of biting the hand that fed you.

river couldn't suppress the sigh that trickles up and past his lips. the group so far had been loud, boisterous, and in the case of some, arrogant. it was difficult to say if it was the type of arrogance that got people killed, or if it was rightfully claimed, but the line that separated the two was a thin line to hang ones life on.

he found the solitude of this spot to be more suitable in the face of the unspoken threat this challenged presented.

priam finds himself walking up to where was, opting not to take attention to himself this time and instead observe from afar. even if he did, he wouldn't be sure where to go first besides his good ol' friend elijers.

"look at'cha bein' sociable! ah, our dear elijah has finally grown~"

he's always been the type to be broody and sit in the corner, opening his mouth only when needed. he supposed the latter part held true, but priam still found it endearing to put himself up there when it wasn't necessary.

"at least this year's batch seems to be full of rowdy and loud personalities instead of a bunch of sad boys. it's going to be fun, i betcha! well, not for us, but for them."

he looks around and spots the nearest camera on their location. he waves at the screen as a greeting, firing off finger guns at whichever instructor might be watching in the screen.

"pow, pow, pow!"

If they were going to be a part of Rocket... Makoto quickly realized that they had to be ready, for a chance run-in against the worst of what League had to offer. Of what Hoenn at large had to offer. That even if they weren't up to snuff like their higher ups, that the one thing they needed to accumulate was experience.

It was the devil that you didn't know - the danger that is unseen or unnoticed - that often got you, after all.

Thus, as they finished answering one last questionaire, they'd step into the large auditorium. A number of faces were seen mingling amongst one another, a vast majority of whom that they didn't recognize, or at least didn't personally know. Voices rose up as other fellow Rockets made themselves known to the room at large.

But Makoto, well... For the past while, they had decided to instead stick towards the edges. To keep one's head down to avoid notice - as their instincts usually dictated - and instead simply survey the different people present. Even when a woman and her Iron Jugulis rise into the air so that she can become the center of attention, they don't respond as the others do - and instead simply watch her, distantly hoping that she isn't one of the Rockets that they end up paired with.

But, their gaze soon settled upon someone familiar - , or as they knew him, Seraphim. The cyborg ninja's gaze seemed to scan the room as well - and their eyes meet his. Or, at least, they think they did. It's hard to tell, with the blank 'face' of the suit that he wore.

Subtly - but surely enough for Seraphim to notice - they'd dip their head in a slight nod, in greeting.
TLDR:
- Makoto enters the auditorium, but sticks to the edges of the room to avoid too much notice. None of their pokemon are out atm.
- They aren't wholly expecting to be the star of the show when the time comes - but they hope that these trials will offer some much-needed experience.
- They don't respond when begins showboating, but are hoping they don't end up paired with her.
- They don't really know basically 99% of the people present - but they spot and notice , who they recognize and give a subtle little nod of greeting towards.

What a colourful crew awaits him when he slinks into the room - The maniacs, the unconfident, the conspiracy theorists, and... the social butterflies? In many instances he's seen in Rocket, a loud bark doesn't necessarily equate a vicious bite. And in the true spirit of a organisation set on clawing away for the pursuit of strength, many are quick to douse the wild spitfires before they grow out of control.[break][break]

Many of these names are familiar to him, not so much their faces though. Keeping updated on the registry of incoming members and emerging faces enables him to occupy his idle thoughts with a little game of match, vague descriptors tagged onto each figure as he files it to the back of his mind.[break][break]

Like little sparks of lightning kept within cracked glass bottles, and immediately stick out to him as ticking time bombs in their own ways - Ideally, people to avoid... but if his sources are right, the latter might prove a valuable asset in terms of brawn. While suggests that this trial might be death matches, seems to hold a hint of doubt (Or perhaps, he's simply reading the atmosphere wrong).[break][break]

If anything, he figures that it'll be testing their mettle against their thoughts, a trial prying into the weakness they had all given in the interview. Following the whole motive behind the formation of SPECTRA, they're probably going to be facing off fragments of legendaries that best corner and force them to grow.[break][break]

Hesitation, huh? His fair share of work is already cut out for him.

“The evaluation has already begun.” The hollow voice had announced that with a certainty that made Kaname glance about the packed auditorium, his eyes settling on several cameras placed about. “I wonder where they’re watching from?” He murmured to the Chimecho, who was bobbing up and down as if under the effect of some unseen wind.[break][break]

The voice of calling out to the group as she ascends the heavens like an Icarus atop her Iron Jugulis draws his attention. The woman’s outlandish remarks earn her a sneer from the researcher. First impressions were everything when trying to advance one’s standing, and came across as nothing more than a malcontented Lillipup. “A dog with no manners and no training is of no use to anyone,” he remarked under his breath as he turned from Xenon, and instead turned to watch one of the screens displaying the names and faces of the participants.[break][break]

A majority of the names and faces rolling across the monitor were unfamiliar to him, but there were a few faces he recognized, like and . If he had to be stuck with anyone, Kaname hoped it would be one of his colleagues that he could trust.[break][break]

Kaname crossed his arms and scanned the crowd, looking for those familiar faces he’d seen on the monitor. The first face he managed to pick out belonged to , talking with another grunt he did not recognize. “Let’s go say hello to a friend, Suzuhiko.” He gestured softly for the Chimecho to join him as he began to slip through the crowd, toward . “We’ll have to find Alba later.” [break][break]

Saying there were a lot of people was understating it, but it was beyond difficult to keep track of all of them, or what they were saying. He phased them out, slowly; those words became a drawl as he settled on his own thoughts, his eyes didn’t see Akira, or Eris. Akira wasn’t the type for this kind of thing, and the other was a child.

But his eyes searched for one , as well as those like , and as they popped out; his golden eyes scanned the crowd like those of a Braviary.

”Forgot my name again huh? It’s Kouji.” This was a man Kouji could respect, it wasn’t a shared understanding of bloodshed, or violence, it was the opposite. This person was pure in his violence, truly a well-raised dog, and perhaps one day he’d get to meet their owner, but the question on hand was more important.

”Huh? That might be true, though the softies I know didn’t join up, so I wouldn’t underestimate these guys, they might give us a good fight…Stick with a brainy person, we’re idiots.” He said as he ran a hand through his hair, there was one approaching them. ”I know one, how about you go and meet my buddy, Kaname.”

Kouji began to smirk as he saw Kaname approaching them, and so he closed the rest of the distance.

”I’ve got a buddy to introduce ya to, here’s Hitoshi, good guy…Well, he’s pretty violent, but it’s the good kinda violent…He’s alright. More trustworthy than me, but less than Alba…You met Alba yet? Anyway, don’t trust a lad with gold eyes.” He chuckled ominously, yet it was a joke only a singular person in that room would have understood.

”Be his brainy person, between your brain, and his skills, you’ll be fine.” If Hitoshi wanted someone to throw his sword in with, he couldn’t think of a better choice.

There were two friendly faces. Ashley felt a little more at peace, but that's short-lived. The chance of getting to work with them, if they had a three-person thing going on, was low. Impressively low. So many candidates here, even if they worked probably best together, if this was like what that one guy said...[break][break]

Should prepare for the worst case scenario.[break][break]

's agreement did help ease his shoulders, while 's explanation of the last time they did it with Slateport... Ashley turns his gaze down. Shit... was he just not living there exactly before?[break][break]

That thought is short-lived in his mind.[break][break]

The Yamper-esque girl, , was calling them primitives? It... it made him almost respect that? It was so ridiculous but so weirdly touching. His lips parted just a centimeter, as if attempting to make a retort... but her calling them trash, save Isaac, he just shrugs. Don't say I didn't warn you, lady.[break][break]

Everything changed once the sliding doors opened.

Beyond the doors was a forbidding chamber void of everything besides an abundance of screens, monitors and cameras. The voice causes Asriel to halt, surprisingly he finds himself hesitating to move forwards. His injuries were still very much tender from ultra deep sea, the humiliating defeat when encountering and still fresh on his mind. While they succeeded with their objective, could they truly count it as a victory?

Thoughts break away from him as fellow grunts push and shove into him, forcing Asriel deeper into the S.P.E.C.T.R.A. HOLO-DECK. Biting his lips from the pain he felt each time someone forcefully collided into him, he slips past the crowd he notices that was also apart of the examination. More new comers appeared, some he recognized like @isaac, , and . The rest he knew nothing about, but that is when he saw . They were on the edge of the crowd, doing their best to keep their head down, and a hidden smile crept along his cheeks. On the other hand Draco saw that Mechanical Beast turn to look at him almost as if it was taunting him, and lightning began to charge along the Dragonite's fist. Causing the air to crackle, and it made Amor snap his head to his Dragon.

"Draco....No..." Came the sharp reply as his Dragonite sneered at the duo before the lightning vanished from his fist. If they wound up as enemies then he would have his chance, but he was being scolded. With a half pout, the Dragonite turned his back to the pair with a haughty snort. With a sigh of relief on his lips he began to walk away putting distance between his pokemon, and the woman before his dragon lost his temper further. Walking up to @makotokurmi he tapped the side of his helm, and the faceless visage would receed. His long silvery hair would spill out, and teal eyes with slit like pupils would gaze at his companion, who would have just seen his face for the first time.

There was no longer a need to hide it since he had caused that scene with . So his normal charming smile was upon his lips as he greeted them properly for the first time.

"It's good to see you again. I hope you don't mind me coming over here....Draco's temperment when he feels like he is being challenged is not the best." He expressed with a bright smile as he pat his rather grumpy Dragonite on the shoulder. "Think we'll get paired up? Would be nice having someone I know, rather than a stranger...." He said as he gazed out across the crowd. It felt weird to not be covered up around them all, but he had been promised mutually assured destruction by . He would see just how many would keep up their end of the deals.

"Personally....I think your skills as a scout, and stealth operative are bounds above the rest here." It was just a blatant fact to him the way he spoke it, and he tapped his cheek curiously as he wondered who else might be on his team.
