The notion of slaying does not make his face light up with joy, or any other emotion. Other than a quirk of the eyebrow, he doesn’t react at all. He listens, and certainly doesn’t protest to the name change, but there’s no enthusiasm at Selena’s suggestion. The most he can muster is a shrug.[break]

“I guess I’d go with Godkiller, if it’s my choice.” The language spoken in Hoenn is his second. Someone with a good grasp of accents can peg him as a man from Johto. Maybe it’s just one of those little quirks that come from having this language as his second. That’s an easy narrative to paint as to why he’d want something that rolls off the tongue so poorly.[break][break]

But, like many who call this language their second, he scrutinizes the deeper meaning of words. He knows exactly what he’s saying. The point dies there as he moves on, looking the other two over.[break]

“Miss, Mister, what kinda Pokemon do you two have? I’ve got…” He recalls his Ceruledge and lets out Munenori, his Gallade. It surveys the two of them and gives a polite nod.[break][break]

“This guy. Got a stone for him.” He taps the katana at his side. Ingrained into the center of the hilt is a mega stone. Afterwards, Munenori is recalled. In his place sits Tokugawa, a Kingambit that, even sitting, is taller than Hitoshi.[break][break]

“This guy, too. He’s my, er…what’s the word? Ace? Yeah. He gets stronger the more on the backfoot I am. He likes waitin’ around to show up at the coolest place.” The steel warrior rolls his eyes.[break][break]

“Think you can use me n’ the boys well, Miss?” He says, instantly acknowledging the woman as his leader. His co-worker, while not ignored outright, is not as important as getting orders. Someone has trained this dog well.




Hitoshi thinks Godslayer's almost right.

Suggests Godkiller instead.

Drops it and gives a tour of his Pokemon. Shows off his Ceruledge, Gallade, and Kingambit.

Reveals Gallade has a mega stone and Kingambit has Supreme Overlord.

he could of course just wait for another member of the group to find him; in-truth, he was tempted to do just that. but, they were on a time-limit no doubt, so he goes for the clear and pragmatic solution.

"hell yeah, i am!" he proudly proclaims, the innuendo lost in him, especially after expanded on it.

he doesn't get to think of a group name when releases his pokemon to introduce them, and then following suit. instead, he fixates on the one that isaac calls them.

"ooh, i like that name!" b-stie boys. it rolls off the tongue and pretty iconic for a two word group name. "i'll show ya the goods, then."

his espeon appears on the ground with the remoraid, which is promptly picked up by the trainer. the aerodactyl behaves itself by perching on the floor, appearing disciplined more than docile.

"the goods, espy," he whispers, nudging his pokemon until it sprays coins with pay day. "eyy!"

the coins cling against the floor before priam moves in on the topic.

"if it's like last time, then it's goin' to be a recreation of a past scramble with a legendary 'mon." he shifts his remoraid to be held with one hand while he taps his temple with a finger. "and i got them committed here, reports and all!"

he then shrugs. "but i suppose that doesn't exactly fit 'threats unknown'... then we'll just have to brute force our way through!"

priam looks at everyone's teams. "we got the vanguard," regarding isaac's pokemon of choice, "and the backline," which fits alba's description of his pokemon. "i can play midfield, so i guess we're pretty set!"

Teams were chosen - and with that, people would begin moving in the direction of their respective partners. The three of them would also need to figure out a team name - which, Makoto wasn't wholly sure what they'd suggest for that. Perhaps they'd figure something out, once the trio assembled?

... That, or would suggest simply sticking with the 'name' given - Team G. Makoto blinked at this at first - but they'd cast a glance towards , before back at him. "... If Ruby doesn't have any other ideas, I'd be alright with that." They admitted - adding "Although - even if it's what they gave us - it feels odd, when I'm the only one who doesn't have a 'G' in their name..."

But ultimately, that wasn't the biggest thing on their mind. Instead, glancing between Ruby and Gerald, they'd ask "What are your pokemon good at, by the way? If we're working together, we may as well figure out what we can do together."

"I will confess that battling is not my main niche - though my team is otherwise capable. My three pokemon are a zoroark who is good at trickery and disorientation, an alolan ninetales who can support, hinder, and has coverage, and a kingdra who is good with dealing ranged critical hits. My ninetales is also able to terastallize."

His teammates, Kouji knew one but not the other, had not met them before. He had foolishly convinced himself he had gotten to know the organization he was in far better than before, but there was still so much he had no idea about, people one of those. Kaname was nearby, and so he went to him first after gathering the tools given to them.

”Me and you again, huh? Glad to have you and your mind on our side.” He said as his calloused hands through his hair, his golden eyes brushed over the crowd to find Cygne as he clicked the bracelet to his wrist.

His eyes stopped on a face that matched that in the system. ”Alright, let’s go.” Time to gather his team, Kouji felt rather confident. He had a brain in Kaname, brute muscle, in himself, and so that left the last of his dream team, and so came his first question. ”Hey, how good are you with people?” His inquisitive tone rang through as if it were trying to cut through the myriad conversations that took up the room, it might not have succeeded at such, but at least it would reach his teammates.

There were a lot of strategies that could be talked about, but Kouji wasn’t the man for such…No, that was his issue to begin with. Giving up on the idea, of thinking things through, far too quickly. So, he took in a deep breath, until he felt the strain in his lungs and released the imprisoned air in a large sigh.

”No point in planning until we know what we’re doing. But, you’ve been around the block here longer than me and Kaname here, yeah?”

Yet there was the most important point, he wasn't one for names, he didn't even name his pokemon, not even his partner that had been with him a great chunk of his life, his Absol. "How about we don't pick a name? Put a space in there, team blank. I ain't wanna be part of a team that ain't rocket." He said with a smirk, as if to cover up his poor naming sense. It was better to have one picked for them, or to keep it blank.

Thankfully his teammates were those that he knew already, and left to go join their group, which caused him to frown that they weren't on the same team. However he had which eased the tension he felt at being paired up with strangers, since he knew her. Their third member approached approached them, and laid out her abilities. Amor took a moment to listen to both of them, and he took in all of the information that they were giving him. Already a plan was formulating in his head, but until he knew what kind of test they were going to be taking he was trying to be flexible, though he had some ideas.

"An all rounder, and a ghost specialist. Perfect. I myself specialize in dragon-types. They are a very adaptable type, and are a pain to deal with for those not ready for them." There was a bit of pride in his strange eyes as he spoke, and the Dragonite behind him mirrored that sentiment, but it vanished. "I think the tests are going to have us pit against Legendaries in some variation. So we can work out a basic formation now to deal with it." Turning to , the pokemon she listed off were all good, very viable for what he wanted her. What pokemon Violet had brought he didn't know, but if they were ghost type, then they would be good at flanking, and annoying the enemy while wailing on them.

"You Ms. Saki, will be an anchor for our team. Violet, and myself will take point, and it will be up to you to judge who you back up at a given moment. Staying back will give you a wider field of view, and help make more accurate decisions. As for us both being point, my Dragons are able to take punishment easily, so while we run distraction, you can flank them to pour on the damage at the very least." This was assuming that they were fighting legendaries, but that is what made sense to him. "You are the lynchpin." He turned to Saki. "If you crumble, it will leave Violet, and myself vulnerable, and make recovery difficult at the very least." Though he just smiled easily.

"As for a name....I don't mind being Team Bouquet, but team Laurel has a nice ring to it....You both can decide." He shrugged not seemingly minding the flower theme.

"Oohh...!" Saki clapped very quietly as Violet began. She herself knew nothing about flower language, so it was all very impressive to her. Not to mention, it was also kind and nice and sweet. Even though she had no words in response, the smile on her face was completely unambiguous. After a moment, she moved a bit closer, physically bridging the gap from 'stranger' to 'acquaintance'.

The third member of their group seemed quite pleasant also, plus immediately clearly capable. She nodded along as he spoke, silently taking in information just as he had. At the end, she straightened up with a salute, but a playful one. "I'll do my best! I'm kiinda starting to get the feeling we're the most functional team here... it's good fortune, huh? Heheh. Oh, and dragons are really cool. I wish I had some. So are ghost-types too! They're actually also my favourites, to be honest..."

With a thoughtful hum, she glanced over to the computer screens. "Ah, we should hurry up though... I love all those suggestions, you guys are really good with words. Hmmm... it sounds like 'Garland' might be off the table. I'd kind of warmed up to that one, heheh. I really like how Laurel sounds, it has a strong 'team name' feeling... but, doesn't it have another meaning? It might be bad if we imply we're complacent... and it sounds like we're all happy with Bouquet!"

She went ahead and locked that name in, making sure they didn't run out of time. After that, she giggled, raising her fist in a mock show of enthusiasm. "Go team...!"

Looks like Saki and are gonna be Team Bouquet.
She's on board with all the plans too. Very stoked.

In the end, their choices only mattered in the ways of how groups were formed. For the purposes of this little evaluation, they would be facing that threats which they knew - Makes most sense when you think about it. Or well, even without thinking too hard on it, really.[break][break]

They could worry about the threats unknown once they'd proven themselves capable of handling what already stood in their paths.[break][break]

Now comes the first hurdle of this test, searching for teammates who he's never personally met. Having read up their profiles and knowing vaguely of their existences, he starts by finding them through a process of elimination. Until he sees that dark cloud floating right above the crowd, almost like a tagged assigned to some NPC in a video game - Unmistakable and most definitely eye-catching.[break][break]

He makes his way over without a hitch, making his presence known by keeping as steady a gaze he can muster on himself. Then, when they finally meet gazes, he'll offer a nod. Not exactly a polite introduction, but beats making his teammate wonder just who's on his side for the precious few minutes they have before the test, right?

didn't answer Ruby before the voting was complete and the voice over the intercom spoke. She couldn't even be upset about that with the chilling visage of Kyurem on-screen again. That goddamned monster...

[break][break]The image changed, revealing the teams of three that everyone had been divided into. Looked like Ruby was on Team G with and , two people she didn't know. Not surprising, but definitely disappointing.

[break][break]She shrugged at 's grin. Even if he didn't know his teammates, they'd all be buddy-buddy by the end of this. At least neither of them was stuck with Miss Ultramodern Futurist () over there. Goddamn, that team was falling apart fast. Maybe was fucked.

[break][break] wanted to stick with Team G, but Ruby wanted something more than just that. Maybe it was childish, but she wanted something cool. Shame that 's team had already taken Godkiller...

Comments were given on the name. It seemed both were less inclined toward it, though for differing reasons. At least Ruby offered an alternative.

He took a moment to ponder it, before giving a nod. “Sure, that works for me.” Not that he really cared much for the whole spiel about the name.

Moving on to the important part of all of this, their Pokémon.

He listened closely for a moment before he began to state his own piece. “Battling is pretty much all I can do.” He began. “I suppose you could say that wide range destruction is the specialty of my Pokémon. But my Decidueye is pretty adept at sneaking around and sniping as well.”

Short, sweet and to the point.

The screen flickered and changed, a great white dragon… Kyurem appeared on screen. A creature of bone-chilling cold, the beast responsible for altering a small section of the Hoenn region into an icy waste. Kaname grimaced, the end result of dealing with legendary pokemon always seemed to be destruction or transformation. The forces they represented were always in flux. They were too dangerous to be trusted, too powerful to be controlled; and to make matters worse, there was so much they didn’t know. [break][break]



The screen shifted again, this time displaying a list of teams and their members. Kaname scanned the list and was relieved to find himself partnered with someone he knew, even if it was reckless . “Glad to be paired with you too, Kouji.” He said with a nod, taking a bracelet and snapping the bracelet on his left wrist. Kaname trailed behind Kouji as he approached , and offered the woman a polite nod. “I’m Kaname, that’s Kouji. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” An introduction for the both of them would have to suffice. “I agree, it’s futile to plan ahead too much. After all, we could be up against any number of legendary pokemon. With that said though, we should establish what we’ve got. I’ve brought two pokemon that are fairly slow but capable of support and control, and one pokemon capable of mega-evolution with good offensive capabilities.” He paused and looked down at the bracelet. “I think team blank is a good idea. Any objections?” He looked toward , waiting for her response.[break][break]

Asriel stares at the screen with a blank look. Aware as other grunts answer the question without much hesitation he silently wonders why he was having doubts about answering the question, if he really would be able to proceed with this doubt clouding his mind.

He's slow on coming to a decision, frowning once the screen beeped at him a reminder of his failure to decide. Asriel really didn't care to much as the monotone voice rambled on about legendaries. He was more focused on how he was now apart of a three man squad, zoning on his name his eyes squinted at the other two. Both being people he didn't recognize.

Sighing heavily he worried about how their dynamic would play out, he was much more of a solo carry if anything. Peering through the countless faces, Asriel notices someone sticking out from the rest mainly due to him announcing his identity very clearly with the name tag.

He approaches discretely, realizing that he was the last one to show up. "Name's Asriel" the introduction is brief and simple, he observes both men quickly formulating his own judgement about them.

Team Gilgamesh? Makoto would take a second to consider the name that suggested, before nodding. "That works for me," They agreed alongside - it certainly was far more imposing and stand-out than just being Team G - not that they had too much preference otherwise.

They would be more interested in the different pokemon that their two teammates had - even if Gerald didn't exactly specify what he had, besides a decidueye - briefly considering the options they had. Tsukiko would likely pair well with someone like Delphi and the decidueye, or Ryuu with Ruby's salazzle, for causing the enemy some trouble from afar...

Ruby posed an interesting question, however. What would Makoto be doing, on the battlefield? "... With the apparent focus being on that of Legendary Pokemon, I feel like I could ask you the same," They responded eventually, with a somewhat careful tone - adding "Short of keeping an eye on the battlefield and staying out of direct danger, I don't imagine there's much we could do that wouldn't risk getting in the way of our pokemon."
TLDR/NOTES:
- Makoto agrees with going in as Team Gilgamesh
- Turns 's question around on her - as if they end up fighting a legendary pokemon, trying to do anything besides keeping an eye on the battlefield would risk getting in the way of one's pokemon.
