Of course it was near Fortree—and of friggin’ course that was more than enough to lure Alex out of hiding to come by!

(Even if his husband partner absolutely detested the cold and wanted to stay home, he couldn’t just… ignore the invitation! They were here last year, but only because he’d wheedled Frog so much to come with him…)

…what was it with him and stress-baking, again? Yes, he’d done it again—but no, he wasn’t stressed, he just really wanted to bake for the longest time however he’d been forbidden from setting foot in the kitchen until ungodly hours of the night so there was that.

He would show up carrying several boxes of macarons to pass around when he felt his foot crunch underneath the snow… ah, snow.

The single most alien thing that the Hoenn region would ever experience, all things considered—because Hoenn was a tropical region, snow was just a thing in movies and such… until several years ago when the weather started acting like it had a mind of its own.

Since then? Hoenn always had a ‘winter’ season to speak of!

The moment he got there, though, first thing he did was to head straight towards the ice-skating rink because holy shit he wanted to get down and out on the ice again! Sure, he was no Johnny Weir, but… he could still skate pretty reasonably, right?

(All while holding several macaron boxes, no less!)

Once he’d gotten the black skates off, he gingerly set foot on the ice rink… and off he went!

Thankfully he didn’t crash into anyone during the five minutes he’d decided to take a spin on the rink—though the macaron boxes almost went flying from his hands, oops…

After he’d gotten the skating itch out of his system and swapped back into his boots, he then saw someone familiar—

“Miss Elise!” he called, waving her way. “I have food!”

While waiting for her to notice him, he began scouting the… oh, they were doing it again this year, huh? Alright! He then began to construct a snowman… once more.

Yumi swiveled at the sound of 's voice. Upon seeing her friend and roommate, her face broke into a wide smile. "There you are," she said, eyeing Mei's equally wide smile. "What's got you grinning like that, huh?" [break][break]

In the middle of Mei's self-introduction to , a snowball smacked her right in the head. Yumi whirled around to see who had thrown that one, spotting none other than Head Ranger . [break][break]

"Hey!" she yelled, but Mei was already hurling a snowball back at the man. [break][break]

Yumi shook her head but could not help the light laugh that escaped her lips. The Snowboy Showdown was a lighthearted event, after all. Crouching, she resumed working on her own snowboy, hoping to make an even better one than last year's. [break][break]

Nabi's shoulder tingled at 's touch. She raised her head slowly, the tip of her nose dusted in a bit of snow from the ground. "Sorry, sorry," she said, clearing her throat, and stood onto her feet. She noted the cubchoo by Yumi's side and gave it a small nod as a greeting.[break][break]

"I haven't started yet, actually," she said, green eyes darting to the creation Yumi was working on. At that moment, another woman entered the scene, her puffy coat and white leggings immediately scoring points with Nabi. was yet another beauty with her dark, aysemmtrical hair and fair skin. She easily matched Yumi's grace and eloquence. Meanwhile, Nabi, despite feeling confident in her own looks and fashion sense, felt like a child amongst real women.[break][break]

Gracie Mae's backside was completely dressed in fresh snow from her snow angel. She wiped at her legs and bottom and shook bits of white fluff from her hair. "There," the redhead spoke with bemusement as she looked over the perfectly crafted imprint left in the snow. "Well! While she would like to protect the head ranger from snowballs, the familiar voice of the Fortree gym leader would make the young woman turn to see him at the skating rink. “You’re here, Alex!” Elise beams up at the blond man while her Mismagius floats by to join up with her mistress and having to leave Chamomile to make their snowboy. The pink china teapot ghost is joined by his younger protege, a female Poltchageist and the two little Misdreavus sisters who stuck out their tongue at the Polteageist clad in a butler outfit.[break][break]

When Elise notices that he had brought macarons, she gives him a smile as she joins up to meet with the Fortreee gym leader. “And I see that you brought macarons too! They must look delicious.” The Galarian royal ambassador isn’t very lonely anymore in spite of her waiting for her boyfriend to show up. Arceus, he had been taking longer. “I was waiting for to show up, but I guess he is taking a bit longer.”[break][break]

Where oh where had her Trubbish gone? Despite all of her frantic searching and desperate yelling, Mitsuru couldn't find neither garbage-bag-hide nor trash-gunk-head of her beloved Pokemon. She couldn't even smell him, no matter how hard she sniffed! But, he couldn't have gone far, could he? No, even if he ran as fast as he could, his little legs weren't long enough to carry him very far. He had to be around here somewhere! She just had to keep looking...

"Trubby, where are--" She called out again, only to be interrupted by a clump of snow hitting her right in the face. Apparently, some jokesters had seen fit to start a snowball fight, which she normally wouldn't have a problem with, except for the fact that the snowball that hit her also had a rock packed into it. "--ACK!"

Meanwhile, Trubby was busying himself with building his Snowboy. Or, well, a Snowtrub. It was hard to tell what gender it was, but it was definitely a Trubbish of some kind. It seemed to be going well for him, though, so that was nice!

Beau jogged easily up the path, puffer jacket and Pangoro-themed beanie staving off the chill as he briskly navigated through the various people enjoying the winter festivities. Poking his head out of Beau's backpack, casting a rheumy gaze over his trainer's shoulder, Chaos the Snubbull stared impassively ahead from - yes, a matching Pangoro beanie.

Arriving at a suitably vacant patch of the cold white stuff, Beau slowed to a halt, unshouldering his pack and holding it down to the ground, allowing Chaos to hop out and promptly vanish halfway into the blanket of snow on the ground. The little canine burrowed his way upward, fixing a watery glare on Beau accompanied by a wheezy cough.

The Snubbull barked in the affirmative, turning a quick circle and butting a small pile of snow up from the smooth blanket within which he was currently entrenched. ”Watch it!” Eko yelled at the group of kids that had started launching snow balls left, right, and center. She had actually been on her way to join the game when the rogue snowball whipped past her and landed smack into someone else’s face. Now, facing the woman who had been the lucky winner, a slight grimace found its way across her own face. ”Oh, whoa, you alright?”

She peered at the red mark where the snowball had made contact. Was it bleeding? No, right? Surely not? Not from just a snowball? ”Let me take a look.” She hobbled closer to . “Of course! It’s winter, after all,” he hummed; shame his partner didn’t like it as much as he did! Seeing that the macarons were much welcomed, he opened the first box, allowing her to grab a few from the pile of pastel-colored ones inside.

At the mention of her… partner not showing up yet, he raised his eyebrows.

“Oh? Who is this new person? Is it…” he trailed off, looking around and unfortunately not spotting the one he was familiar with.

“Ah. Definitely someone I’m not familiar with,” he hummed while he left the boxes piled up on the bench as he sneakily rolled up a snowball… before catching Miss Elise by surprise with it!

Eddie was so busy packing snow together for the next segment of the snowboy that he almost didn't notice nearly trip over Tsume's scarf. He at least had the decency to be a bit sheepish when he replied, [break][break]

“Hey, uh, thanks!” [break][break]

Another little Darumaka waddled up as the councilwoman passed by, observing Eddie rolling some snow into a larger ball. It pressed it's little hands to the icy sphere's side to help, pushing alongside Eddie as he went. He chuckled and patted the little Pokemon on the head, [break][break]

“Thanks, little guy, but my buddy and I can take this from here,” he said with a soft smile, hefting the next portion of the snowboy onto the base that Tsume had constructed. Once Eddie made sure that the whole thing wasn't going to tip over on him, he turned to the little Mawile to ask for some assistance... only to see the last traces of an orange slip into a crowd of people, [break][break]

“Tsume, are ya kiddin' me? You can't keep running off like that!” [break][break]

And so Eddie went, trailing after his Pokemon, hoping that the little guy wouldn't pester anyone trying to build their own snowboys in peace.[break][break]

Snow, snow, and more snow - it was all so white and fluffy and pretty, and it was fun!

Ettie would yelp as a snowball fell on her head, before breaking out into bright giggles. As she shook the snow out of her hair, she'd glance up to see Andrea in a tree - the Honchkrow having a laugh over this bout of mischief...

... At least, until the dark-type ended up squawking and nearly falling off of her perch, when Ettie threw a half-packed snowball right back at her! She spluttered and shook her feathers off - wings flapping to right herself on the branch.

Ettie giggled harder, smiling wide at Adraea's reaction. What goes around, comes around!
