THE PRIMAL KYOGRE FIRES ITS ORIGIN PULSE AT SOOTOPOLIS' WALLS. However, Team Rocket's ships filled with VOLTORB & ELECTRODE are detonated to disrupt the Legendary's attack. However, thanks to the League's intervention and more, the resulting explosion does not harm the KYOGRE as much as it would have. Furthermore, the exploding Rocket ships also prevent the Leviathan from completely bulldozing through.[break][break]

Regardless, the crater wall, weakened by and falls apart, allowing KYOGRE to breach the city—and the CAVE OF ORIGIN where , , 's ENTEI, , and are. The cave is exposed, and as the frenzied KYOGRE continues its violent deluge, RAYQUAZA descends, summoned by .[break][break]

Sent to the city as additional reinforcements, KANTONIAN TEAM ROCKETS prepare to contest breaching League forces. As an armored and armed CALYREX prepares to wage war with the crime syndicate, cold waters begin to flood the crater... placing everyone and everything at risk of drowning.

THE KYOGRE SEETHES, BEACHED AGAINST CRATER STONE AND LODGED INTO SOOTOPOLIS' HEART: THE CAVE OF ORIGIN. Beneath its blue belly, the whale can sense the object of its desires. Having already had a taste of that primal fruit, the Kyogre hungers for more. Despite its debilitation, those who gaze at the stranded creature may come to understand why SKYLER DROSS, the whale's previous Avatar, could not control the creature's greed. Heavy rains and summoned brine surge from its body, for it is a force of nature. The personification of the ocean itself.[break][break]

Civilians caught within THE CAVE OF ORIGIN scream as they behold the Kyogre looming ahead. Waters surge and crash from the surrounding sea and the Leviathan itself, spilling into the city. However, curiously, the water levels do not rise from this new headwater. The sea itself seems to be RISING. Rocket grunts responsible for civilian evacuation scramble as they attempt to protect them and themselves from the rising waters.[break][break]

Many League trainers breach through the hole made by KYOGRE. However, other League trainers breach the city from above, through the Sootopolan scar created by Kyogre's crash, or perhaps, from the sea or bay's waters, issues a command: "cull them as they clamber in!"[break][break]

Sootopolis has been structured like a Trapinch's pit. League trainers and their Pokemon who trespass into the city are immediately fired upon by the Kantonian Rockets sent here by GOD GENERAL and the other Rocket higher-ups' deliberation. Poison needles, fiery blasts, piercing bolts of ice and clobbering stones catapult toward those who dare reclaim the city. Those most unfortunate are stalled by psychic interference before being slain.[break][break]

Atop the GREAT DYNA TREE, a CALYREX watches. Armed with shield and sword crafted by , it waits patiently. Around the city, the green barrier erected by the hare remains, PREVENTING ANY DYNAMAXING from occurring.[break][break]

As the League and Team Rocket clash over the fate of Sootopolis, what waves will be made from this NEW FIXED POINT IN TIME?

Ultimately, 's Pokemon pushes the boat to safety. Together, the three successfully allow the civilian boat to pass before KYGORE reaches the city.

She is able to put several VOLTORB & ELECTRODE in Rocket's defensive ships to sleep—but 's intervention disrupts the efficacy of the Top Champion's maneuver. The ships will eventually detonate and harm/stall the KYOGRE during its ORIGIN PULSE; however, the collaborative effort of the League has saved the KYOGRE from incurring more harm.

[attr="class","prompt0"]Avatars and are contested by a SYGNA SUITED and . In the middle of battle, Team Rocket's CALYREX tosses a DYNA FRUIT to revitalize 's GALARIAN MOLTRES. However, it is struck by a MOONBLAST fired from 's ingenious and unique SYGNA SUIT-PROSTHETIC. 's CHIEN-PAO appears to save him, while RAYQUAZA descends upon the crater city.

Eventually, they see a BLUE STALACTITE, which appears to be the beginnings of another BLUE ORB...

THIS IS A RAID EVENT where characters post every round, attempting actions and/or responding to prompts or scenarios present within provided MODERATOR POSTS. Oftentimes, characters must make use of the ROLL command, which can determine the success of actions and/or create narrative tension.



This event is "DEATH-ENABLED". However, one should not worry too much about Pokemon or characters dying. Depending on player action, these high stakes can potentially be navigated without loss. Regardless, players can collaborate with me if they would like to craft dramatic moments like sacrifices, if it is able to be integrated into the event well.[break][break]

As a civilian ship escape's Kyogre's wrath, the leviathan turns its gaze upon the jewel of Rocket's empire. It crashes through the crater wall as SHADOW LUGIA pursues from the air, her Avatar kneeling on her back between rows of bone-white plates.[break][break]

There had been no time to steal one last kiss from , or even to wish his husband well.[break][break]

"We'll engage Kyogre!" Cillian calls over COMMS to any Rocket listening in. "This downpour'll work in our favour."[break][break]

Rain drenches Cillian to the bone, slicking blond hair flat to his scalp and soaking through his clothes. He barely feels the chill of it, veins burning with the heat of battle. He clings tight to one of Lugia's plates as she pulls into a steep dive.[break][break]

Swooping down, Lugia looks to impose herself between the rampaging Kyogre and the FLEEING CIVILIANS, letting out a haunting cry of challenge as she calls a bolt of THUNDER from the sky.[break][break]

Tempest is soaked to the core, freezing water leeching away whatever heat it can even from inside his wetsuit. The storm rages overhead, the water high above his head thrashing and writhing like some living beast. Kyogre's greed had kicked the already terrible storm even higher. The seas themselves seemed to rise high above.[break][break]

His comms crackle in his ear, the water making 's voice sound far away.[break][break]

A nod to Durandal, the Shadow Kabutops floating in the water next to him. He grasps her foot just a he speeds off, the Swift Swim letting her slice through the water with ease. She pushed upwards, bringing the Tempest to surface. The rain hammers down, each one spiking up more water from the force they hit.[break][break]

Temp coughs when he takes out his rebreather, barely treading the water.[break][break]

"I'm trapped behind the damned thing!" He calls into the comms himself, annoyed, before biting down on his lifeline once again.[break][break]

In the distance he can see Kyogre's fat whale ass as it pushes against the crack it has created. Yet, he can also see the darkened hide of 's Shadow Lugia.[break][break]

There is a gap there, large and dangerous. Could he use that to get inside the city? But if Kyogre shifted the wrong way or broke down the barrier at the wrong time, the rocks would collapse and possibly crush him...[break][break]

Well, no sense in staying here and freezing to death.[break][break]

So he does, landing on a strip of land near where Kyogre sits wedged above the Cave of Origin. People are screaming, and not just combatants. He grits his teeth.[break][break]

There’s a single moment of hesitation, and then he sees fighting Kyogre. It would be so easy to pick up their fight from earlier, to throw himself at the Harbinger with reckless abandon. Even he, him, human bondsman of a corrupted god, struggles to save his people.[break][break]

“Zacian. Look.” He nods at the fleeing civilians and the god looming over them. “I gotta follow my heart.” Ascalon’s shape twists as a bow appears in his hand. It seems less a sword and more an arrow. He fires it like some ironclad hero of old. Ascalon shoots across the air like a blue comet. Zacian is close behind. Her sacred sword strikes the ancient sea god, placing herself and her blade between the Leviathan and the civilians beneath.[break][break]

Her fingers dig deep into the black gravel as Calliope finally comes too, her crystals still jumbled by the impact of the ship’s explosion. The world shifts and turns, but she knows where she is. Sootopolis.

Next to her on the little strip of beach lay her Kabuto and Serperior, the Kabuto tucked closely against her and vibrating violently. Damo, her Serperior looms overhead, tail coiled over most of her body and hissing at something in the distance.

A distance not so far, as the bellowing of the Kyogre finally overtake the incessant ringing in her ears. Shaking her head she looks up, only to see how close the leviathan truly is, and why exactly her Serperior remains so protective.

Scrambling unto her feet lays her eyes upon the destruction wrought upon the crater, and the rising seawater level behind her. She has to get out of here, quickly.

The little Kabuto is picked up and recalled before Calliope and Damo start moving. When the device on her neck hums to life again, the burning sensation sends flashes of what transpired upon the ship into her thought-process. Calliope’s expression turns sour the moment comes to mind, but with the leviathan trashing near her she has no time to loathe him further.

Noticing ’s Lugia facing the Kyogre, and a Shadow Kabutops rushing through the waters to aid it, along with 's Zacian, Calliope resolves to do the same to aid her superior. ”Damo, Shadow Rave!” From the side, the Shadow Serperior lets its aura flare, dozens of shadow spikes trying to force the leviathan against one side of the crater.

Parts of Tori's tactical suit were ripped and torn from her encounter with Zekrom and it's avatar (). She was bruised and bloody in a few places but otherwise none the worse for wear. It was her mental that had taken a shock, no pun intended. Losing the way she did threw her off her game, but she wasn't down and out just yet.

[break][break] A temporary setback that she would have to process later. For now...

[break][break] 's comms alerted her to the very real, very imposing threat of the 'Titan of the Sea', Kyogre. Tori saw them both moments later, Lugia and her old friend as they engaged the beast. Violet hues picked up on the movements of other's, both friendly and not, quickly as well.

[break][break] Reaching for her belt, Victoria tossed Raiden, her Zeraora's, pokeball by her side. "Let's try this again." she said with a nod towards the feline-like pokemon. Tapping into the comms herself, she responds. "We'll help." as Lugia's THUNDER cracked and boomed from above.

[break][break] Everyone else seemed to have similar ideas as well. She even noticed the familiar face of one of the League's elite four, , going after the Kyogre. Victoria feels a searing hot rage at the very notion of the League attempting to play 'hero' here. This was all their fault anyway!

[break][break] Clearly her anger towards killing her partner had yet to subside.

[break][break] "Use your speed and get close!" she ordered Raiden who blitzed off. Utilizing the cliffside nearby, in a series of acrobatics, the Zeraora began to swiftly close the distance between itself and Kyogre.

[break][break] While traveling it's fits begin to glow a light blue as electricity pops off it's paws. With precise speed and expert maneuverability, Raiden attacks in tandem with the others. A timed THUNDER PUNCH aimed for the encroaching Leviathan.

After the destruction of the outskirts of Sootopolis-- Phoebe, aka Mystique had barely got out of there alive. Even with working briefly with the league-- Kyogre couldn't be stopped. It was a mess, as now the giant whale of a pokemon had blasted into the city, terrorizing everything in an interest to get to its target inside the city! [break][break] Having returned to shore and back to the city, Phoebe soon saw that Kyogre had already entered the city limits-- and with the Cave of Origin blocked-- the people down there were trapped and panicked by the big whale above them. [break][break] She was a part of team rocket-- and as such she knew what was expected of her. [break][break] But she was not heartless. She couldn't stand to let uninvolved people be dropped into this senseless war and slaughters... She paused for a moment, wrestling with her own mind over it. She then saw that across on the other side of the gourge-- Rocket ace and others such as , , and on the other side of the trench that Kyogre had formed. They too were working to save the citizens of their city. [break][break] Her doubt faded away, and she could help. [break][break] She took out her pokeball, containing her most trust-worthy pokemon. "COME--MEDEA!!" Phoebe called out with resolved and tossed the ball overhead. [break][break] Phoebe released her pokemon and a Gothitelle appeared, looking as regal, self-important, and elegant as any of her species would be. [break][break] "Medea... our first task, is to rescue the citizens trapped in that cave below. Think you are up for it still?" she asked. The quiet Gothitelle nodded, already committed to it silently. [break][break] As the others acted, doing their part to slow Kyogre and make an opening to the cave-- where the citizens were trapped, Phoebe knew what to do. "Medea-- use Psychic. Lift as many of the citizens as you can back up to this side of the cliffs. Keep doing that till we can confirm they are all safe. " Phoebe said. [break][break] Medea soon reached out her arms, and her eyes glowed with eerie psychic power. As the rain poured, and the other openings from the other Team Rocket members helped-- they would see people suddenly start to float up into the air. [break][break] Medea's PSYCHIC lifted up about a dozen people at a time, lifting them graduatally up to the gap made between Kyogre and the surface-- in about a few minutes, they would be moved to different parts of the solid cliffside-- giving them a chance to run for safe cover. [break][break] "Hurry, get to shelter at the edge of the town." Phoebe demanded, not speaking as a Rocket member, but just as a concerned person. [break][break] This exercise would push Medea a bit-- powerful as the psychic witch was; using Psychich repeatedly, lifting multiple targets in tangent wouldn't last long. Hopefully, Medea would be able to last long enough, lifting up citizens to safety from where they were and not provoke the ire of Kyogre. [break][break]

After his Clawitzer finished healing Tapu Koko, Thomas recalled the duo. The Kalosian hopped back onto his Basculegion, swimming towards the newly formed hole in the crater wall.

Upon reaching the hole, Thomas and Ermac swam into it, attempting to gain access to the city. Thomas had Ermac utilize his Extreme Speed, in a bid to evade oncoming fire from Rockets defending the occupied city from those who were attempting to breach it.

rocket, league, and their respective forces certainly have a way of fucking up life for everyone else.[break][break]

it's obvious even to absinthe, who lingers near to the hole made in the drowning city. noise sounds to her in every direction: screaming citizens, the flow of water, kyogre's knells. with the water rising, everyone in sootopolis is on a time limit. they'll all only have so long before the world is drowned.[break][break]

pressed up against the cliffs on the exterior of sootopolis, absinthe eyes the curve of the horizon, southward. her true reason for being on the warfront dawns, breaking up the barrier between sea and sky: the dynatree, and the king atop it. the chemist's fist tightens around the scalpel in her canvas bag. what could be gleaned from this nightmare if she could just get a sample? she knows her duty: initially, to evacuate the citizens from the city, having been brought in as reinforcements, now to fire on league agents attempting to breach sootopolis from the hole kyogre has made. by now, though, the lines between duty and personal interest have been burned.[break][break]

absinthe glances upward. sanguinarine, her crobat, meets absinthe's eyes.[break][break]

"sanguinarine, get me in."[break][break]

the muffled command from behind absinthe's ever-permanent gas mask sparks the crobat into action. the beast, nearly a head taller and larger than absinthe, flaps its wings with fervor, and absinthe grabs onto its waiting feet as they slowly take to the air. it's slow going, but absinthe hopes sanguinearine can fly long enough to get her over the cliffs.[break][break]

there is more to explore, and more to figure out. the depths of the cave of origin holds clues to the answers that it looks for, but there are no chances for the entei to settle its questions.

it exits the cave alongside and , though it does not bother to look for them once they were out. while it stands as proxy of the previous ho-oh avatar, allegiances meant nothing to him. rocket, nor league, meant little compared to what lies underneath the city.

instead, it finds itself at the mouth of the cave, privy to everything that happens in the city due to its proximity to the center of the crater.

the calyrex happens to be near its vicinity. it tries to look for its eyes, but says nothing in passing. there will be things to be asked and events to be experienced, and only by observing through it all will it get a semblance of the reality they are on.

entei decides this wasn't his time in the limelight. he was an observer in this, and it's only respectful for the king to know of its intent.

  • entei exits cave of origin. doesn't care about verona/sariel
  • sees calyrex. hangs out to be a spectator because it's not its place to interfere

Hana scans the remnants of the sea wall from on high. White rock crumbles into the sea amid bodies and capsized ships, and a legend pours through the breach unabated.

The bomb pokemon hadn't been enough.

Though they would've been enough to kill me, she thinks.

She was meant as cannon fodder, just like the civilians below soon will be. She knew that from the start. A fresh recruit, meant to ensure the bombs go off. Nothing more than a suicide mission, a necessary casualty. If she had only killed in the process, taken her with her...

I should be down in the depths with you, Hideyoshi.

But although the Top Champion had killed her most stalwart companion, Hana still drew breath. She may have drew some purpose in it, surrendered to the gods as the work of cruel fate, keeping her here for a reason - but the god below, raging, gives her pause.

The sea itself was against them. She knew how perilous that could be, half her life at sea.

Her skarmory flaps her wings angrily, agitated by the sight of the League pouring into the breach. Hana watches the assault begin in earnest, and she can't help but agree with her.

Melody was just the beginning.

They would kill everything they laid their eyes on. Nothing was sacred, not even a defeated foe. Because they were Rockets, they were already marked for death. They may as well return the favor.

Hana raises her fist to the heavens, letting Yoshitsune's talons dig deep into her armored gauntlet and lift her into the sky.

"Yo, Harbie," Hana speaks into her headset, reminded of the device when she hears 's command crackle in her ear. "And whoever else it concerns, I guess. Melody Miro, top champ -- she's an avatar. Meloetta's her patron's name. Nearly killed me. Look out."

That'd win her some kudos, she reckoned. That, and the fact she came away from the battle with the League's top trainer alive. She'd need that, she figured. Quinn wouldn't like what she was about to do...

A short whistle to her skarmory is lost in the wind, and she drops. She feels her heart catch in her throat, dread pulling at her guts. The sea rushes beneath her, little else between it and her but open sky.

Quinn had told them to target Kyogre. Walsh had told them to cull the invaders.

But she'd had her heart torn out on that ship, lost her oldest friend to this battle already. The very avatar of the League's justice herself had murdered Hideyoshi in cold blood, for no other reason than she could.

Fuck orders.

This was personal.

She unsheathes her blade as she falls, angling toward the familiar man's back while he's distracted. Her doublade falls between her shoulder blades as she lands behind him.

"Hey, Sheriff! You're fightiin' for the wrong team, now, ain't'cha!?"

. The man Melody Miro claimed to love. The perfect target. He'd gotten distracted by the rabble. Mere cannon fodder, the same as her. He was vulnerable with his back to her.

That was his mistake.

lightning snakes down from the sky and freya turns her head. pressure sinks against her skull as one of rocket's deadliest fight to contain the god breaching their shores. [break][break]

she knows what they will see. her people will witness their captors stand as protectors against a monster and they will watch her, wings snapping open, purple fire pouring from her maw, defending the enraged titan heralding their dooms.[break][break]

"roy. caleb," she says, through the winds, one hand pressed to the comms in her ear. her voice flies in pockmarked static and she does not doubt there are enemies listening among them. her lips curl. "demak ve. troth kyogre."[break][break]

they do not adhere to the whims of mortals, the complexities of political divides. they have carried the pain of this fraying region. they have felt the awful, horrible hunger eating away at their deep sea sister-brother. [break][break]

She’d thought, for long, agonizing moments, that Sima was dead. Again.

But the Pokeball had pulled her in, and later, during some hasty, slap-dash attempts at reassembly, she’d felt the deep electrical pulses that suggested whatever consisted of Sima’s soul was still around.

With that problem out of the way, she’d turned to her own repairs, patching the punctures in her skin from the dead Milotic’s tera blast and frowning at frostbitten flesh.

“That’ll smell great, at the end.”

Her Sygna suit was an easier fix, and so, when she and went back into the fray-- ha, ha-- she was only slightly worse for wear.

Then, it’s all action. This isn’t their show up, chest out, stare down stand-off like with and . It’s her, and it’s Freya, and Lyune beneath them, and Zenais at their back, flying so fast the gray-black smoke of her body blends with the storm clouds. Rain sheets down against them as she glares through her visor at the spread of Sootopolis.

Over the top of the maelstrom and all the combat, the waves and the wind and the screams, she can see the shape of the Dyna Tree, and the visage of Calyrex. It unsettles her, sending a chill down her spine; she makes a mental note to go back and investigate why and prune that bit out-- provided she survives, of course.

And then they’re going down. Lyune flares his wings and stabilizes; she uses the brief hop in momentum to rise to her feet.

How can anyone focus on anything in this shitshow, she wants to say, but what comes out is, “Yeah, sure. Zen, hit the sky-whale.”

Her Dusknoir sluices out and fires off a dark pulse towards the amalgam of Lugia.

With the opening to retreat, and then assault again, Oliver had to raid the ship for anything he can use for a makeshift napsack. He had his baton and his taser, first aid kit for both Pokemon and humans, but that was it. And  most of the former was already used on a Phione that got caught up in his and 's earlier skirmash with two Rockets. Finally finding some things that'll work, and putting it together, Oliver nestled the little fella inside it while it rested and the medicine to take effect. He still had orders to follow. And Kyogre wasn't waiting.

Hopping onto his Dragonite, it was time for the main part of the assault. From the positioning, it was a good thing that he focused on the Stonjourner formation. With a couple flaps of his tiny wings, the ranger and his dragon was already hundreds of feet into the air. The duo zoomed towards the city, on the west side of the hole that the legendary created. Almost immediately after appearing before the city, he came under assault. The punk ranger's Dragonite unleashed his Hurricane attack to try to blow the attacks away and burst through the defensive line.

TLDR
Location: B-2

Phione nestled safely in a makeshift napsack for rest and medicine to take effect, and will not be able to take any actions in this event (Shiv's Permission was had.)
Uses Dragonite to finish the trek to Sootopolis.
Uses Hurricane to attempt to blow away attacks and create an opening to zoom in.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]They were all coming, all of them. They were all coming for Sootopolis: Kyogre, the League, and the Rocket defenders trying to hold their invaders back. And because they were all coming, Aurelie was fleeing.

Granted, she wasn't fleeing very fast or far. But when the cave walls collapsed around them to reveal the sea and Kyogre right at the mouth of the Cave of Origin, all Aurelie could think was that she didn't want to die. She didn't want to drown here trying to fight an enemy so powerful it'd hardly notice her before crushing her and her Pokemon like ants.

So, she dismissed her embattled, battered Empoleon and summoned forth her Milotic. After all, her Milotic could swim in the rapidly rising waters, of course, but she was also better suited to protecting and healing. Right now, Aurelie figured that was how she could help best, rather than fighting.

"Coralie, use LIFE DEW," she whispered, leaning close to her Pokemon and nodding at , , and their Pokemon. "And then...let's SURF and get the hell out of here!"

Thankfully, the healing didn't take long, and she and her Milotic were away in moments—though still far too close to the maddened Kyogre. Thunder shook the skies above, and flames glowed at the heart of Sootopolis, directly ahead of where Aurelie was trying to flee. She gasped and squinted her eye, trying to see what was happening.

Below the Dyna Tree stood Calyrex, armored and armed with the armaments she'd created for it. Her heart would've swelled with pride at the sight, except that it went cold to see the massive, spiraling dragon trying to burn down the great tree.

"No!" Aurelie screamed, heedless of where she was or who heard her. "Come on! It's not the tree's fault! It's just trying to exist! Shouldn't you be focusing on stopping Kyogre?!"

Especially since Ever Grande City had its own Dyna Tree... What if they set this one on fire but failed to stop the rampaging Kyogre? What if it turned its sights next on the League's own city?

Besides, poor Calyrex doesn't deserve to die a second time at the hands of the stupid League, she thought viciously. If she could have, the redhead would've spurred her Milotic on to skim across the waters even faster. After all, she wanted to heal and protect, and there right at Sootopolis' heart was a royal Pokemon and a tree that needed some protection—or at least a good dousing.
