Next to him, and next to the mailbox that Eddie was still dumbfoundedly standing in front of, a dark-eyed bull eyed the letter with incredible interest. He lowed, and Eddie frowned, [break][break]

“Maybe I oughta just send it back so they can figure out who it's actually supposed ta go ta – hey!” [break][break]

His dismissiveness earned him a rough headbutt to the hip, [break][break]

“Look, Beau, I don't think you get it – the hell would these guys want a chump like me for?” [break][break]

The bull lowed again, and a wet nose nudged a hand bearing scarred knuckles, an arm bearing scars from scratches and poisons and cuts. Eddie scrutinized the papers again and sighed – for as stubborn as he could be, the Tauros had him beat, [break][break]

“Fine,” Eddie sighed, and shuffled the papers in his hands again before nodding to the little house he had been staying in since he had been stationed in Dewford, [break][break]

“I'll read 'em over an' figure somethin' out. Just – just give me a minute, alright?” [break][break]

But in the end, it wouldn't take a great deal of convincing for Eddie to make his decision. Even through whatever doubts he had, the soldier would be back to his mailbox before long, everything signed and sealed. After all, how could he turn down any chance to do some good for Hoenn?

Her expression doesn’t quite change when the plate first appears. Her brows might have twitched, pulling together slightly in curiosity. She does lean closer over the table, squinting, inspecting it from afar.

The message is grim, and Eva shares in dahlia goode’s concerns, but also her optimism. What Eva assumes to be the answer is etched in stone.

Which order seizes more, plate and Pokemon, to their side, shall shape the realm as they revere.

A dangerous prophecy. If seized by the wrong hands - the DRK Triad or Rocket - It could spell doom for the world as they know it. She even feared one entity, or person, having such immeasurable power, even if it is The League. They would be the lesser of two evils, that’s for sure.

But power is a dangerous thing, it corrupts the best in us and attracts the worst. She fears The League would be no different. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Therefore, it must be shared. Checks and balances. Equilibrium. She decides then that she would cautiously help The League obtain what they could.

“Well,” she clears her throat subtly and crosses her legs beneath the table, shifting in her seat. She subconsciously runs a hand through the newly greyed streaks in her golden hair, “We should find more of these plates then, hm?” she assumes the pokemon are in reference to legendaries. The sudden surge in them partnering with trainers was an omen afterall, “Perhaps there’s an energy signature from this plate that could help us hone into the others?” A starting point, “If permitted, we can begin assessment later this week.”

freya tucks her stylus against her tablet. she darkens the screen. and while the researchers in the room turn their eyes to the stone, and their soldiers pledge their lives to dahlia goode and the cause, she hears that assured and silken voice - while time is in shackles, remember each other well. that is the only way to steel your hearts against the end.

and she thinks, perhaps it's time i reacquaint myself with Yuina Higashi and her naganadel, and together we can rip the smile off that smug bitch's face.
