he gets forewarning in the form of a snarl from the luxray; the pokemon pivots sideways and stands ready as the kartana sweep up to their position, their blades flashing a brilliant glint in the sun. dominic clenches his jaw but stands unmoving as the luxray lurches forward to meet the kartana in a WILD CHARGE. determined to protect its trainer, the togekiss utters a cry and summons the energy to execute an attack with its SUPER LUCKY METRONOME. [break][break]

dominic sees and break out ahead along the road toward the next group of megalapolans as enters the vehicle. turning, he casts a glance toward , and @samuel as he taps at his hip flask to urge the alcremie inside to drape a SAFEGUARD across the group again. when dominic speaks, his voice rasps through the mask, ”get inside and protect the flanks, take care of the shit in the air too.” [break][break]

he snaps his fingers at his steelix and points at to order it to follow the man. the pokemon opens its jaw wide and then snaps it shut again in acknowledgement as its body hums with an invisible energy and lifts off the ground with MAGNET RISE. assured that it understood that it is to protect the back of the vehicle, he moves to the mouth of the road as the HAZE around him darkens and thickens in a bid to veil him from enemy eyes. dominic pauses when he reaches and jerks his head back to the van behind them. his tone is curt when he says ”in.” if a response comes from the head scientist, he doesn't wait to hear it. [break][break]

dominic turns his gaze down the road, stepping closer to the shadow of the railing running alongside it, and prepares to move through it with darkrai’s gift of shadow teleportation. provided the transportation vehicle begins to move, dominic intends to utilise the shadows to appear with darkrai in the fray with bailey and kyle.

's words are only half-caught—he can't see his face to fill the gaps. the first step is a stumble, his golduck jolting him to a walk. marcel watches the guzzlord; for a moment, that is all he can do. he realises, belatedly, that when he tugs gavin and samuel, it's rougher than intended.

his gardevoir reaches into the back of truck without resistance; soon, the rest of it follows. marcel yanks open the door as soon as the click sounds. something flutters out the corner of his eye.

a FLAMETHROWER lights the air, his clefable sweeping their perimeter with the blaze. a kartana ricochets off the van door before marcel's golduck throws up a PROTECT around the vehicle.

Moana flinched as the stinger of one of the aliens' purple insect monsters stopped a foot from his head, halted by Keila's barrier.

"Guys!" He said, panic coloring his voice. Tynnu and Pertapa caught on quickly, the Geodude and the Dwebble lifting their claws and blasting away the Naganadel. A splash of poison slipped past the dual barrier and caught him on the arm, though it thankfully did little more than sting.

He exhaled. At least the fight wasn't going too terribly---

The Guzzlord ahead roared, and Moana flinched as darkness pulsed from its body and eliminated the barrier Wali had set up. A second later, the sound was echoed further away. A closer conflict seemed primed to occur as well, with the woods nearby suddenly having a commotion. Moana looked just in time to see trees toppling down, and a wave of little... what were those? Blade-things?

The blade-things flew towards Moana and the others. Moana didn't think this was that terrible, but then one of them cleanly severed a woman's hand at her wrist. Moana looked away, his stomach turning, and was confronted by an equally terrible sight of the Guzzlord charging them, trampling allies and foes alike in its mad rush.

Moana thought quickly. "Set up some traps for the huge fucker," he muttered. Keila, the Pineco still being carried in Moana's hands, unleashed a barrage of sharp spikes and scattered them in the Guzzlord's path. Tynnu followed as well, lifting one arm and raising large, jagged rocks from the ground to float in front of the rampaging monster.

Moana still didn't trust that Guzzlord as far as he could throw it. He'd seen what had happened to one girl's Porygon. "We're gonna get out of his way," Moana said, eyeing the Kartana that neared as he began to retreat. "Slow down the blade dudes, please."

Pertapa lifted her claws again, following Tynnu's example and raising another set of stones from the ground, this time hovering to block and hopefully damage the Kartana. Wali followed this up with an aggressive flap of his wings, materializing a large blade of wind that flew at the attackers as well.

Moana couldn't help a small smile as he and his team ran out of the Guzzlord's path. Whether those things were paper or scissors, he had his own scissors and rocks to beat them.

Galarian and League forces alike seemed to find some degree of cover from the trees as the Naganadel sniper attempted to pick them off. One of the draconic wasps infiltrating the woods was met with a Gengar's HYPNOSIS instead and came crashing down to hit the ground on Gofannon's path. The large titan trampled and crushed the insectoid beneath its heavy march and with a series of sickening crunches. Remiel instead acknowledged the Gengar, then the boy who appeared to command it ( ). "Well done, lad."[break][break]

With their defenses bolstered by 's Grimmsnarl and a call to advance by , who had graced them all with a pastel veil, the dark-haired royal was beginning to place great faith in the idea that their flanking maneuver would go smoothly after all. But he was disproven almost as soon as he'd thought so. The Guzzlord's deafening and barrier-shattering roar was troublesome enough. But the swarm of origami that followed from the east was downright alarming.[break][break]

"At your 9, soldiers!" He loudly warned, slapping a hand against his Duraludon's metallic side. "Protect, now!"[break][break]

And Gofannon executed the command swiftly, summoning a protective barrier (PROTECT) and standing his ground as his companions took cover behind him. Before long, that first swarm would pass and move out of the woods. But there was still quite a squadron left afterwards. Remiel made sure to hold tight to his Duraludon as the earth shook with the thunderous crash of the collapsing trees.[break][break]

While Agnés focused on enhancing her DOUBLE TEAM while in Gofannon's protection, Faustus the Ampharos took the initiative afterwards to clamber atop the walking dragon tank. The Duraludon bowed its head slightly when the Ampharos tapped it, poking his own head out from above. From there on, Faustus' long neck would serve well as he became a living cannon, taking great advantage of the fortified and mobile position as he razed (and possibly dazed) every Megalopolan and accompanying Ultra Beast he could with a powerful SIGNAL BEAM.[break][break]

Seeing one of Hoenn's own gym leaders flying overhead ( ), and spotting a familiar face nearby in , the ambassador pointed ahead. "The boy has cleared a path for us. Help me lead our men through there or provide cover fire! We can outflank their Guzzlord while it is preoccupied!" He suggests, pivoting away from a Megalopolan's attack when they suddenly pounced at him with bared and bloody hands. One swiftly executed roundhouse kick is all it takes afterwards to knock the alien unconscious. Though it also serves to remind the ambassador that he needs to resume his martial arts training after all this is over.[break]

tl;dr: Duraludon summons a protective barrier to shield Remiel and his partners from the Kartana attack, who take cover behind him. Shiny Gardevoir focuses on enhancing its evasiveness. Ampharos mounts Duraludon and uses itself like a cannon to clear the way ahead and try to flank the Guzzlord. They push through like an allied tank in Nazi-occupied France.[break][break]

The sensation of pain was brief, a sharpness of burning that trails through the skin, but it subsides with little more than a sharp breath of annoyance from the woman.

The cliff's edge is torn, broken and chopped to bits by a move that makes the woman's glower sharpen with sheer irritation - or, possibly stress. The urge to snap a quick retort at her comrade is imminent, but the severity of the situation forces her to hold her tongue.

There's a roar of ignition nearby that quickly catches her attention, and immediately, snaps her into action. The sound of the air being sliced and the forest floor rumbling as tree after tree is toppled by tiny, newfound enemies only serves as encouragement to move the hell on.  The icing on the cake was the appearance of rocket's underboss himself, .

It's a brief exchange, if one could even call it that, but even the subtle frigidness of her stare said plenty. "No. I planned on walking, actually." The biting words might've been lost to the roar of wind, but Circe feels proud of herself nonetheless. These little exchanges, she'd almost miss them if he died today.

But there wasn't time to reminiscence nor be toxic within her mind, as the bladed beasts neared with each passing second like a pack of rabid dogs. She quickly maneuvered a hand as she began to book it for the truck, returning her absol in favor of releasing her dragapult instead. The phantom dragon sped lowly near the ground, a wiry hand wrapping around the woman's waist, halfway towing and halfway carrying her towards the truck in hopes of closing the distance in an instance.

From the shadows, her gengar follows. "Help with the tiny pests, offer support." The orders are given to the dragon in preparation for when they landed.

The moment she's by the truck, the dragon lets go, lengthy body curling towards the back of the truck, claws holding onto its frame as it attached itself to the vehicle like glue. It plays the defensive role, a flamethrower shooting from its gullet to ignite any of the tiny ultra beast that neared the truck.

Circe herself goes towards the front seat, the scientist too much of an egomaniac to consider sitting in the back as an option. She's greeted with none other than the head scientist of league himself - a man she remembers Priam as holding a fondness towards - and his machamp. "Move," her hostility can be considered a misplaced sense of urgency rather than the woman's natural crudeness, "please." The words are directed to the pokemon, as she practically shoves herself into the middle without much shame. Soon, her hand taps at the ceiling of the truck, "gengar,"

Summoned by its trainer, gengar appears from the shadows of the truck as well. But, it perches itself directly on top of the truck, body lingering halfway in and out from the shadows created from its roof railing. The pokemon aids in the frontal assault of clearing the bridge off to make a path for them.

Teetered to the railing's shadow, its mind attacks with a psychic. Megapolans and pokemon alike would find themselves coated in a veil of mental power, floating in the air before simply being tossed over the railing of the bridge like a child flinging its toys about.

"Hurry up!" The shout is directed towards those in the back of the truck, sounding more like a passenger seat driver with road rage.


tldr;
- Circe returns Absol. She books it for the truck, slightly carried by Dragapult whilst Gengar flanks them from the shadows.
- Dragapult clings to the side of the truck, using flamethrower on any kartana that manage to get close to it
- Circe boards the truck, deciding to sit in the front (in the middle seat) via shoving over 's machamp
- Gengar sits halfway out of a shadow on top of the truck, using the shadow to fasten itself to the moving vehicle. It uses psychic to help in clearing the road up ahead via tossing megapolans and their pokemon alike off the side of the bridge.

with the van successfully secured, cait decided to quickly peek inside its driver compartment. the mere sight of the blood left behind caused her to wince, her lips pursed as she shifted her gaze and addressed her pokemon in the chaos.

"good job you two."

everything was being prepped, the vehicle's engine made to start as individuals either entered or sought to press onward. cait decided against entering the vehicle, aware that only so many could reasonably fit. instead she returned her rock-type and fire-type to their respective capsules, replacing their combined presence with her braviary's.

"we'll be guarding the vehicle from the rear. that means we need to follow once it's on the move. let's get going."

cait smoothly mounted the bird's back, the feathered beast giving a few experimental flaps of its wing before it took flight whilst bearing its mistress. the woman clutched onto its back, her grip firm and certain as both she and her companion took their place as an impromptu rear guard.

In that moment of clarity, it heard that same sound; the sort of whistle of air being parted by a fine edge, but more than that... it noticed the swaying of leaves, a sudden creak in branches. Its eyes shot open, and it raised its weapons high, knowing the enemy to be above them. But even before Adrian read the body language, Karma had communicated with Vixen telepathically.[break][break]

Gardevoir spared not the slightest moment in exercising its psychic prowess, making its best effort to raise the alarm and turn their attention where it was needed: ABOVE! While the message was not so easily interpreted by a human mind, pokemon were more amenable to its telepathy as it blared throughout their collective web of conscious thought, warning the guardians of man.[break][break]

Adrian's gut sank as honeyed irises flashed skyward toward the tree canopy, but already the whirring, blurred images of otherworldly pokemon began to descend in ambush upon their isolated ranks. "No-!" was all he managed to utter, afforded no time for delegation. But his pokemon were not wanting for instruction in so dire a moment, quickly taking the initiative in his stead for their mutual survival.[break][break]

Gardevoir and Alakazam both exercised their psychic prowess, pushing back against the Kartana blitzing towards them, forcing them to veer off course while they lurched the other way to avoid being bifurcated. Adrian threw his weight to the side, attempting to skirt outside the blade's reach in a similar manner. Adrenaline coursing through his veins, he wouldn't notice any injuries sustained.[break][break]

By happenstance, he trips up, tumbling to the ground abruptly. In the commotion Adrian unintentionally disturbs the pokeball housing his dormant Gyarados, Furor. In a brilliant flash the leviathan creature fills the breadth of the clearing, its lumbering figure rising to match the tree canopy's height. Any trees falling towards them are shrugged off and thrashed aside by its daunting physique, or obliterated in a burst of splinters when caught by its unbridled biting power.[break][break]

Grimmsnarl, sluggishly rejoining their splinter force had the advantage of seeing the Kartana advancing towards it, and thus able to muster a countermeasure; its body began to broil with passion before expelling this heat in an omnidirectional blast, exploding with power enough to deter if not also decimate the enemies fast approaching its position in an effort to overwhelm their forces beyond.

Katherine hisses at the sight of the shadow dust, which is all that remains of her pokemon’s SAFEGUARD.

Thankfully, the defensive move had served its purpose. The attacks of the Megalopolans leave her with some minor burns rather than a full-blown, crippling injury. If it wasn’t for the ensuing chaos, perhaps she’d have cursed the aliens for ruining one of her favorite shirts. There’s no time for that.

The sound of the running engine urges her to pick up her pace, and hopefully, she reaches it in time to hop on and catch a ride along with the other rockets and the league-affiliated driver.

“I think we’re safe—”

The arrival of the Kartanas is unexpected, but the gym leader’s Dusknoir throws a FIRE PUNCH to catch their blades and stop them from reaching his trainer. “Stall them!” She orders, and the shadow pokemon obeys. The flames of his move lick at the floor before forming a small, fiery wall.

It sinks into the ground and hides within the truck’s shadow afterward, while Sableye sits atop of the woman’s shoulder in case further backup is necessary.

“I am so fucking tired of these things!” The truck is reached just in time for the woman to hiss a couple more curses under her breath, loud enough for both and to hear. Her Reuniclus continues to float outside of the vehicle, keeping up with it through sheer psychic force.

He is shot with a glare by his trainer, “I want to know where they’re coming from, is that clear? I don’t care how, just find them.”

The glow in the Pokemon’s eyes suggests that a FUTURE SIGHT might direct them to the source of the problem. If their commander could be found, Katherine expected the psychic-type to spot them.

☆ she joins the rest of the rocket group, with driving the van.

Delusional fantasies and fragile illusions shattered when reality threw a stone at her house of glass. Ingrained beliefs conflicted with the information being fed from her eyes to her brain. Gigi gritted her teeth as she cursed beneath her breath. Shock threatened to shut down her operating systems but she pushed on, facing a scene that made her uneasy stomach to churn. 

Ethernet, her beloved Porygon, had done as ordered, executed the command to perfection. However, Gigi had been incorrect, her strategy completely flawed. Standard rules and common sense were morphed in a way that was only seen in virtual reality. Perhaps she had been warped into a virtual world without knowing. Unfortunately, it appeared she was trapped in a simulation where "game over" didn't mean "try again"; there were no save files, no continues, no extra lives. 

Gigi crouched down beside the poison afflicted digital Pokemon. An otherworldly virus was infecting, corrupting the data that Porygon was comprised of. Her tactical mind was blank as she cradled the glitching Pokemon into her lap. "Don't you fucking leave me." her voice was scratchy as she held back a lump in her throat. "Don't you dare."

A pulse of life surrounded Ethernet, causing her convulsing to slow. There was no telling how long it would last. She glanced in the direction of the Pokemon who had come to their aid. Gigi mouthed a silent "thank you" to its trainer ( ) but his words fell on deaf ears. Thankfully, her mind was slowly beginning to rebuild and calm down. A certain clarity brought her to her senses. 

The Charjabug, previously being lugged by his trainer, had accidentally been dropped on the ground when the woman had blindly reacted to the aftermath of her failed tactics. Worry consumed the small bug. But what could it possibly do? Duracell felt the need to protect his newfound family. Determination caused him to wriggle forward, closer to the Guzzlord. But then it started to charge: charge in the direction where his trainer knelt with his fellow teammate in hand. 

Fierce anger at his incompetence fueled a reaction in his body. A blindingly white light consumed the small bug: its body began to elongate, serrated jaws akin to tusks formed, and metallic wings breached its back. Duracell shed the former cell of himself as he blazed forward, now a fully evolved Vikavolt, and shot a sticky web in the path of the Guzzlord, attempting to overlap it with the rocks scattered on the ground. He prayed the web would cause the rocks to stick to the feet of the monstrous beast but he had little hope.

Quickly, he flew back to his trainer's side. By now, Gigi had begun to recover. "Captcha, drop me my phone." The Rotom obliged without complaint, shell-shocked by the experience. "Try to confuse it if you can. Don't push yourself too hard. If you are in danger then abort." 

"Karen." Voice steady now, Gigi's commands were clear. "Grab Porygon - gently." As the Venusaur loaded the precious cargo, Gigi clumsily climbed onto her back. She clung to foliage as she placed Ethernet into a safe crevice. "Get us out of the way!" The large Pokemon didn't need to be told twice.

Grass began to shift underneath the Venusaur's feet and then, with remarkable speed, the giant began to slide across the grass as if it had turned into a childhood toy.  Venusaur began to grass glide in an attempt to carry them out of the path of the raging Guzzlord. Maybe even knocking a few, hopefully, enemies, aside. 

Meanwhile, as the rest hopefully escaped, Rotom attempted to cast a confuse ray on the beast. Although its double team was still up, he was cautious and fled to his trainer's side as soon as possible.

During this time, Gigi was frantically typing in the stream's chat, asking for any knowledge about this strange poison. She pushed the negative comments to the back of her mind but one still rang deep, "l-o-l you get what you deserve". Rage at herself, the anonymous user, and the Guzzlord fueled her fingers to move faster as she searched the web, one eye keeping watch on her peripheral visions, for any clues.

porygon is hit by thomas benoit's heal pulse.

charjabug evolves into vikavolt (shiv approved). with its new mobility and ability to fly, vikavolt uses a sticky web on the path guzzlord is charging down. he overlays it on top of the stealth rocks in hopes that it'll cause the stones to get stuck into the guzzlord. 

after loading porygon onto her back, gigi climbed onto venusaur's back (clutching her foliage with firm grip and moving porygon into a presumably safe spot on venusaur's back). 

rotom uses confuse ray on the guzzlord before returning to gigi's side (+1 evasiveness from double team)

venusaur uses grassy slide to get out of the way of the guzzlord's path (possibly crashing into anything/anyone on either side she managed to barrel down). 

gigi frantically asks her stream chat and searches the web for a way to help porygon.

origami creatures suddenly burst through the forest and began to swarm nearly every inch of the battlefield trying to slice into everyone here. it felt like kaine's had a dream like this before with a bunch of origami swanna, it was an odd feeling to see it come true in some form.

as the van is secured he has his scyther carry him to on top of the van to be its lookout for anything from right above them. "blow them away." he ordered his venomoth who replied with a gust of wind to blow away all the origami creatures that got too close to the van as it fluttered around.

"be sure to scare them off, but don't get hit. double team." this time it was an order for his scyther to use another double team to spread out a swarm of after images around the van as it started up. seeing the vehicle heavily fortified might make more of these creatures wary of even coming close to it with its already heavy fortifications thanks to the rest of the trainers positioning their pokemon around it. it made the van feel like a tank than an actual supply vehicle, hopefully it would be just as safe as one.

It didn't take long for this chaos to become more chaotic. A Porygon tanked one of those big maws' attack, megalopolans were emerging from the woods, with tiny letter openers in tow that served as ultra beasts. And one of those big guys from before were charging down the road. If this wasn't considered chaotic, nothing would be.[break][break]

As the flying paper cutters charged forward, Balder called Duraludon and Zeraora on the field, while whistling to have Camerupt join him. Upon appearing, the Duraludon began to emit a Metal Sound to weaken the surrounding Kartanas. Balder and Zeraora retreated behind the Duraludon's steel body, to take cover for what was to come. As he noticed Camerupt approaching, the alolan man brought his mega ring to his lips, dropping a soft kiss upon it to unleas it's hidden powers.[break][break]

Mega Evolution. What was previously a camel-like creature with two volcanoes was now a bigger and meaner monster with a single but huge volcano and rock protrusions on the side. The Camerupt came to Erupt, and erupting is what it would do. Positioned in front of the Duraludon, the fire/ground type unleashed his full-powered Eruption to strike at all the weakened kartanas (Due to Metal Sound) that was around them. Too bad for the forest, they needed to clear out those flying letter openers before the league trainers had cuts between their fingers.[break][break]

Meanwhile, Zeraora Honed his claws against the metal tail of Duraludon, getting ready for more action. Balder looked around, searching for his Galarian Ponyta till he noticed it, a bit away and maintaining the Pastel Veil. "Pegasus, go assist the porygon that got poisoned!". The unicorn nodded before running at full speed towards . Once she got close, the Ponyta closed its eye and touched the porygon with her little horn to cover it with Pastel Veil, all the while using Heal Pulse to assist with the curing process.[break]

with adrenaline rushing through her veins, lulu barely felt the poison stinging her skin before it had entirely subsided.

as soon as her boots hit the dirt outside, her eyes located the truck. the team headed for it, beelining. lulu reached down to grab a shock baton from a fallen megalopolan, not stopping as she did so. while not exceptionally skilled in melee combat, she was confident in her ability to defend herself, and those behind her, if need be. she felt the vibration of its power surge in her hand, vicious.

when moving bodies were not blocking the view, she caught sight of a handful of her superiors, including her brother, . she glanced over him briefly, perhaps meeting eyes with as well. she also noted , whom she’d not yet met, but was aware had filled her brother’s shoes—the big brain, invaluable. she nodded, finally, in greater acknowledgement to her boss, , before turning her back on the open door of the truck to face the enemy, not boarding it. a guard dog at heart, she would defend and leave seats for those important to the team.

lulu released her blaziken. it would look over at for the briefest moment with familiarity, its drive to protect bolstered, before focusing back on their oncoming attackers.

“go up ahead, help them at the front!” she yelled to her pokemon already on the field. lulu looked down at her perrserker, unsure if she’d see the pokemon again that she had grown fond of. she took in the yellow of its eyes, committing it to memory in some sentimental moment, and then adding, “you better not fucking die on me!”

the galarian meowth let out a metallic battle cry and dashed for the front, followed high by the weezing, joining ’s type:null and ’s team. with luck, perrserker’s BATTLE ARMOR would protect it from critical hits. it attacked using THROAT CHOP at an oncoming kartana. weezing used THUNDERBOLT again on a naganadel above.

at the bumper of the truck, lulu braced herself and brandished her weapon, getting a feel for it in her hand as she moved side by side with the blaziken her brother had gifted her. they backpedaled with the truck, not giving any ground between it, unless managed to drive quicker through the enemy.

the blaze pokemon used FLAME BURST at a kartana closing in, an impressive ball of fire tearing across the ground to take it down. if its SPEED BOOST was in effect, it would become quicker with each blow it hurled at the enemy. lulu would defend herself as best she could with the baton from any attacker that got too close.

"Crapbaskets," the ranger cursed to himself having just witnessed these Ultra Beast work together to get rid of defense screens of their forces but watched as it fainted a Porygon with a single hit despite it attempting to make itself resistant to it. Caution above anything else it seemed. He was going to have Gallade go to their aide until another pokemon used Heal Pulse ahead of him. Hopefully that would be enough to help but it did give him time to now focus on the Guzzlord coming at them. "Shamrock!" he called and signaled to the dragon as he looked over flying over to allow his trainer and Gallade to take hold for the Flygon to fly them behind the Ultra Beast. [break][break]

Trusting the Garlarian Ambassador's group to deal with the aliens Razz felt he was going to need more fire power to deal with the large Ultra Beast he brought Cobalt and Whis from their pokeballs. He was about to give orders until his Gallade warned him of what was incoming which seemed to be origami that likes to cut things. Steel types was his guess before pointing to the Guzzlord, "FLASH CANNON and DRAGON BREATH, and you two make sure these things don't interrupt them," he ordered. [break][break]

Working together the Flygon and Metagross did what they could to strike the large Ultra Beast while Zeraora and Gallade defended them with POWER UP PUNCH and PSYCHO CUT. Razz taking out his retractable baton to defend himself if needed doing his best to keep his good eye on the situation around them incase a change of order was needed. [break]

    The roars coming from multiple directions for a moment grabbed the man’s attention, concerned with what was making them

    If they were lucky they wouldn’t have to deal with the monsters that made those noises, and he felt bad for the poor idiots that were already doing so.

    Well there was no point in worrying about the dead, especially not when a horde of tiny blade beasts were coming at you like a swarm of locust.

    He’d order his Manectric and Milotic to fend off these incoming enemies with continuous stream of flames and ice moving along the crowd in the form of their FLAMETHROWER and ICE BEAM attacks.

    wouldn’t find any resistance on Samuel’s part; the man was heading to the van while his Pokémon were attacking the beasts.

    Before entering the van Samuel would order his Salamence to act as its convoy and protect it along with the other Pokémon that were already doing so.

    Samuel would then return the rest of his Pokémon before entering the van, finding it surprising more cramped than he expected. He wasn’t sure if he should question or not the Machamp and surprisingly Lucas Lane being here with them.

    tl;dr
    - Ordered Milotic and Manectric to fend off Kartanas with ICE BEAM and FLAMETHROWER
    - Returns Alakazam while heading to the van

    WAR OF THE WORLDS RAID
    SETTING: LATE SEPTEMBER
    THIRD DAY OF THE WAR



    KARTANA FOREST



    AS AN INEFFABLE AMOUNT OF KARTANA swarm through the forest, the cacophony of splintering wood and cut flesh buzz in your ears. is swift to react. Bolting into action, his Alakazam and Gardevoir manage to PSYCHICALLY swerve the origami creatures away. In the space created, his crimson Gyarados lunges out from its ball, chomping an incoming tree in half.[break][break][break]

    His Grimmsnarl continues the attack as 's Sharpedo follows suit. Kartana strike against the Shark Pokemon's body— but the ROUGH SKIN protects it somewhat. The Pokemon takes injuries from the lingering Kartana that continue to strike at its body. His Yanmega and Gengar fare better, able to evade and attack against the others.[break][break][break]

    and his squad continue forth. While his Gardevoir DOUBLE TEAMS, his Duraludon PROTECTS. However, the sheer number of Kartana means that the protection will not last for long. As a SIGNAL BEAM bursts out from his Ampharos, several enemy troops recoil, clearing the way to Guzzlord.[break][break][break]

    However, the Kartana remain a threat. Other Megalopolans chase after them and those who remain in the woods.[break][break][break]

    KARTANA ON GUZZLORD PATH



    AS THE GUZZLORD ROARS, 's Porygon struggles to cling on to life. Despite its synthetic make, these Ultra Beasts are otherworldly invaders. Hoenn's contemporary history has documented their terrifying presences before— and it is as if they are apex predators placed into an ecosystem they can wreak havoc in.[break][break][break]

    Thankfully, Elite Four, and his Clawitzer and 's Galarian Ponyta direct their healing to the streamer's Pokemon. Bathed in HEAL PULSES, the Porygon seems to stabilize and is now safe.[break][break][break]

    As the Kartana swing toward the group, 's Hydreigon unleashes flames alongside his Scizor. Their paper-like bodies begin to shrivel in the element, providing time for @moana's Pokemon to set STEALTH ROCKS along the path. His Sigilyph's AIR SLASH cuts a Kartana in two before it can strike their master, allowing the trainer to flee.[break][break][break]

    A dramatic light consumes 's Charjabug. As it manifests into its new form, STICKY WEBS fly from its mandibles. They accompany the STEALTH ROCKS in Guzzlord's way. Her Rotom attempts to CONFUSE the Guzzlord as she glides away on her Venusaur— however, the Kartana follow her as they sweep toward the truck. Her Venusaur begins to sustain injuries as it tanks a relentless rush of cuts. However, 's Duraludon and its METAL SOUND manages to stall the Kartana's attack, the discordant noise piercing everyone's ears.[break][break][break]


    's Flygon flies its trainer and his Gallade out of the Guzzlord's rush. As it does so, his Metagross and Flygon strike against the ravenous beast. This close, the Ultra Beast towers above, almost blocking the sun. As the bright shine of a FLASH CANNON accompanies 's earlier SIGNAL BEAM, his Zeraora uses POWER UP PUNCH with Gallade's PSYCHO CUT to protect the group; however, the Kartana follow . They strike against his draconic mount.[break][break][break]

    As Flygon sustains injuries, finds his aerial ride struggling to stay in the air, now unable to sustain both his and Gallade's weight! Thankfully for and , before their Pokemon can take anymore damage for their trainers, 's Camerupt MEGA EVOLVES. Possessing an incredible surge of energy, the Camerupt ERUPTS, burning the rest of the Kartana on the path.[break][break][break]

    CYCLING ROAD


    THE CHAMPION'S MOTORCYCLE ENGINE ROARS as she speeds down the road. Her Togekiss flies forth, attacking alongside the gargantuan Mega Steelix that IRON TAILS a group of Megalopolans off the bridge.[break][break][break]

    With a crash of steel, Megalpolans hit the water, splashing violently as dashes in on his Manectric. As they clear the way, 's Weezing strikes several Naganadel with THUNDERBOLT; however, the electricity is swiftly siphoned into 's LIGHTNING ROD Manectric to empower it. Next, his Type: Null assaults the remaining Naganadel that sweep in with a TRI-ATTACK. The attack is potent. The canine seems to be in its element, striking the Ultra Beasts with ease as the Elite Four's Smeargle burns Kartana with SACRED FIRES.[break][break][break]

    Perrserker rushes to the vanguard with 's Weezing. As the Cycling Road is cleared of enemy reinforcements, Kartana attempt to strike the Galarian feline. However, its BATTLE ARMOR manages to stave off fatal cuts.

    However, due to their sheer numbers, several Kartana strike at 's Weezing, 's Smeargle and 's Togekiss, causing injury. Some pester The Champion's Mega Evolved Steelix like sharp flies— but Rocket Head Scientist, 's Gengar and Dragapult help clear the rest. Kartana and Megalopolan alike are tossed aside in a weave of flame and a flippant wave of PSYCHIC energy.[break][break][break]

    THE TRUCK



    THE HEAD SCIENTIST jams his poor Ditto into the key slot. As the Ditto frantically TRANSFORMS, its gelatinous body manages to find every nook and cranny, and is able to start the engine when turns the key. His faithful Machamp fires FLAMETHROWER at incoming Kartana— but his Aegislash manages to KING'S SHIELD the side door in time before a rush of Kartana SLAM into it.[break][break][break]

    Arriving on Aerodactyl, proves pivotal in the defense of his superiors. His Armaldo PROTECTS at the right moment, stopping a large swathe of Kartana from catching , and . His Fossil Pokemon retaliate as 's Venomoth uses GUST to take some of the Kartana away temporarily.[break][break][break]

    Rocket Admin, 's Gardevoir forces the truck's back doors to swing open as the Underboss, retaliates against the cloud of Kartana with his Pokemon. His Lycanroc, Metagross, and Lucario retaliate with their fists while Corviknight's armor gleams with an IRON DEFENSE. It manages to deflect several Kartana before he's dragged into the back by Admin . @samuel follows inside too, and he returns his Manectric and Milotic, their FLAMES AND ICE lingering in the air as Kartana fall. The Admin's Golduck PROTECTS against a swarm of Kartana, biding them enough time for Gym Leader to reach the truck as well.[break][break][break]

    Her Reuniclus FUTURE SIGHTS, but visions can never be clear. Something is happening in this realm. As the Reuniclus attempts to discern what may happen, it discovers a multitude of possibilities as if space and time are being torn asunder.[break][break][break]

    Underboss 's Shadow Luxray manages to WILD CHARGE into a group of Kartana, its ability allowing it recklessly strike with full force with no drawbacks; Togekiss follows up quickly, a METRONOME causing a billow of flame to finish them off.[break][break][break]

    When the engine starts, the CD player turns on at a volume way too loud for human consumption. Inside, the speakers blare alongside screeching wheels as slams on gas pedal. and 's Machamp would need to hold on to their seats, for the truck lurches into action. Inside, , , , and rest on benches. Crates of supplies, covered in blankets and secured to the floor and wall, cause everyone inside to feel too cozy for comfort. However, a large metallic THUD startles everyone inside, for has landed on the vehicle's roof. @samuel's Salamence roars as its PROTECT prevents a Naganadel from carrying off; the dragon swiftly cuts into the Ultra Beasts neck before resuming its flight beside the truck.[break][break][break]

    Behind them, 's Steelix trails behind, levitating with the help of MAGNET RISE. The ex-Gym Leader , follows on her Braviary. Several Kartana cut her skin and her Braviary; however, before they can sustain anymore injuries, the Kartana are deflected by 's Blaziken, who FLAME BURSTS the last swarm away. Curiously, the Blaziken finds its speed revert to normal as 's Darkrai spreads a HAZE.[break][break][break]

    GUZZLORD ATTACKS



    AS THE GUZZLORD DRAGON RUSHES forth, the ENTRY HAZARDS slow it somewhat; however, it begins to use its TONGUES, the claw-like appendages stretching out from its maw, to scoop stone and web into its stomach.[break][break][break]

    When it reaches the end of its mad dash, the Guzzlord attempts to swing its mace tail for a powerful DRAGON TAIL. Its tongues then lash out, attempting to grab anyone close.[break][break][break]

    THIS INVOLVES THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERS:[break]

    TO AVOID BEING HURT OR CAUGHT BY GUZZLORD, TRY TO ROLL ABOVE 50; however, be aware that actions (collective or individual) are weighed more than rolls! Some will have an easier time than others due to their position.[break][break]

    WHEN THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTS TO MAKE ITS FIRST TURN, the Guzzlord waiting below lunges forth. It fires a HYPER BEAM from its maw toward the incoming truck. [break][break][break]

    and , ahead of the vehicle due to bypassing the need to start an engine, will be able to see that the HYPER BEAMING Guzzlord's tongue-arms are attempting to tear down the Cycling Road path so that the vehicle would fall into the Guzzlord below.[break][break][break]

    These Guzzlord are little weaker than the ones in Hoenn's past. Eventually, it becomes clear to those facing the Guzzlord that there is one way to cripple them: do away with their arms.[break][break][break]
