the last of the swarm behind them taken care of, blaziken moved in a swift motion to throw its trainer into the truck before it was too late, not leaving her time to protest. her finger coming off a suppressed button on the baton, it deactivated before her back made contact with the metal floor with a hard thud at feet of , , @samuel , , , and whoever else may have made it. she rolled halfway up in an instant as though she might jump back out, but decided better of it after seeing that her pokemon was already gone. without making much eye contact, she pushed up to sit on a bench on the side, looking pissed and saying nothing with her head down, hands clasped and elbows on her knees, listening carefully to what was going on outside the vehicle. she hoped her team was alright, feeling guilty for being in a box truck and not with them.

the blaziken was soon at the front of the vehicle with lulu’s weezing and perrserker, having jumped onto the truck beside and then back off, towards the front of it, meeting the rest of its team. they pressed forward, the weezing falling back a little and the other two taking a more defensive stance in front of it in formation.

blaziken and perrserker met eyes and nodded to one another before dashing forward at two tongues respectively on either side as they flailed, perrserker attempting to SLASH one, while blaziken went to COUNTER another away from the road and his team.

with the weezing left somewhat injured, it did not attack immediately, hanging back for a moment to weigh its options as the truck behind them kept coming, containing its trainer, headed for seemingly certain death. its life passed in its mind; its youth, and happy memories of long strolls and scrumptious trash; its friends, family. good years. it had lived happily.

with loyalty as strong as its trainer's, it would not stand to see the death of those who had given it that.


a purple aura bubbled up from the ground, orbs of DESTINY BOND manifesting and swallowing around it. its eyes narrowed ahead on its new eternal partner: the guzzlord. there was no one else around. the battlefield had faded in its mind.

with neither of its party there to hold it back, the weezing hurled itself towards the enemy, glowing purple with fate, its body picking up momentum to attempt to sail past the lead and intercept the hyper beam before it could come in contact with anyone else, taking a full impact. its two companions only caught a glimpse, their eyes going wide at the colors of the aftermath.

cait gritted her teeth against the assault, her eyes squeezing shut as both she and her flying-type counterpart endure the sharp barrage. a deep cut was inflicted upon her shoulder, her shirt thoroughly sliced into and turning from a pale blue to a disgusting shade of crimson. her braviary remained focused despite their newfound injuries, wavering only slightly at the lost of blood and plumage. 

"urgh."

cait gritted her teeth as her pokemon remained at the vehicle's rear, though both she and the flying-type were momentarily taken aback by the distance sight of the guzzlord and the power which originated from its great maw. loud curses escaped her as the pair reeled, the woman shouting her orders.

"up now!"

braviary veered skyward, climbing the skies and ascending to distance themselves from the chaos occurring below. cait got a decent enough read of the situation as she peered down whilst scowling deeply, her eyes narrowing immediately fixed on the sight of the beast's great claws. they flew ahead at admirable speeds, the pokemon guiding her bird through a series of clear and precise orders. 

"aim for the arms! air slash!"

her flying-type produces thin slices of power, intending to attack the beast's arms in an attempt to interrupt their barrage. inwardly she was panicking at the damage the infrastructure was currently taking, aware that the destruction of this particular route could effectively cripple mauville city.   

- cait and braviary take damage - and are presently both bleeding from several wounds each. 

- cait commands her pokemon to fly higher and ahead, intending to position themselves to aid in hampering the guzzlord whilst attempting to avoid the hyper beam.

- braviary uses air slash, hoping to discouraging the guzzlord's attack by damaging its arms.

With the Porygon having received treatment, with the help of a Galarian Ponyta, Thomas recalled Colt as quickly as he could. Looking around for the owner of the Galarian Ponyta, Thomas would spot spot . "Thanks!", he'd call out to the muscular Alolan, before hearing the Galarian Ambassador's call for covering fire. With a nod, Thomas flew to get into position, before noticing that Gigi was still in danger.

"Gigi, get ready!", he called out to the streamer.

The Kalosian would swoop in with his Hydreigon, getting ready to grab her hand, to help her onto the back of his dragon. "It's been a while. But we can catch up later.", he'd tell her.

He would begin to fly up, out of range of the Dragon Tail swipes. Meanwhile, Ripper would have to rely on his reflexes to duck or jump over the swipes. Thomas would have Kalameet hammer the otherworldly beast with Dragon Pulse. Meanwhile, Ripper, seeing an opportunity to dish out some pain, opened up his pincer to Bug Bite the beast. Seeing its arm, Ripper would attempt to live up to his name, and attempt to rip and tear at the arm of the beast.

Bless. The cotton candy unicorn acted as another source of healing. Honestly, Gigi was shook. People risked their own and Pokemon's lives for a complete stranger. She was incredibly grateful but a cynical whisper reminded her, "you owe them now". "Thank you." 

The synchronized healing stabilized Ethernet, its body no longer glitching due to painful convulsions. "Sorry." her mumbles were barely audible. A shaking hand fidgeted for her Porygon's Pokeball, the capture device nearly slipping from her jerky movements. Gigi wouldn't - couldn't - risk Ethernet again. Ethernet was recalled, the Pokeball was immediately dropped into her pant's pocket for safety measures. 

Venusaur was a reliable tank but that didn't equate to invulnerable. "Synthesis." This time, her voice was steady and tone clear. Flowers began to recover and bloom as the Venusaur feasted the nearby nutrients.

With the origami people burned to a crisp (rest in pieces), Duracell was capable of mobilizing. "Duracell, try to cut off one of those creepy arm tongue things." Transparent wings buzzed into action. "Be careful!" Gigi called after the newly evolved Vikavolt. She worried if she was pushing Duracell too soon. What if he still needed to adapt to evolving?

A Kartana, somehow only partially burnt from the mega Camerupt, distracted her nervous mind. Oh, wait. It was still on fire. Gigi quickly stepped on it to put the fire out. Somehow, the Kartana was still struggling to move forward and attack. Gigi had to admit that it was an interesting creature. They looked like a cute monster in an RPG. Not to mention it had a lot of moxie. It couldn't hurt to try to catch one, right? She tossed a Pokeball, not expecting much, before turning to watch Vikavolt with bated breath.

Luckily, Duracell took to the air like a Ducklett to water. Serrated mandibles acted as scissors, allowing the dual type to attack. Flying in a x-like pattern, the Vikavolt attempted to use x-scissor on one of the Guzzlords creepy arms (or anything that he was capable of getting close to without getting hit). Duracell didn't even pause to examine the damage, or lack thereof, he conflicted before racing back to Gigi. 

With Vikavolt safely back by her side, Gigi struggled to think of her next move. Luckily, a familiar voice ticked memories of a life now long gone. "Shit. Is that you, Thomas?" Eyes widened in surprise as her gaze flickered up to the helmeted rider. "Damn. You're a sight for sore eyes." With Venusaur healed up, Gigi returned her to the safety of her Pokeball. Too large, can't ride. Bad Gigi - that was rude.. but still funny to her overstimulated brain. "Don't want to catch up in the middle of a war, eh?"

Captcha, displaying a serious expression that didn't match his normally easy-going attitude, levitated beside Gigi as she struggled to climb aboard the Hydreigon Express. "Captcha, use discharge if enemies approach us." Once they were in the air, Gigi would raise up her phone, secured in an iron grip hold, to capture the incredible view. "Talk about quality content, eh?" However, if (and when) turbulence disrupted the flight she'd quickly pocket the phone. Viewers would just have to learn to deal with the darkness inside her pocket. 

Gigi kept a watchful, observant eye on the battle below. She scanned for the Ponyta that had come to their assistance, hoping it was able to reunite with its trainer.

- venasaur uses synthesis to recover from the damage she tanked.
- gigi attempts to capture one of the kartana because why not?
- vikavolt uses x-scissor on the guzzlord in front of them (aims for one of its arm-like mouth tentacles)
- gigi recognizes thomas and accepts his offer to fly the hecc out of there without hesitation. 
- venusaur is recalled because she can't fit on the hydreigon :c 
- vikavolt follows the hydreigon
- rotom (+1 evasiveness) has been ordered to discharge its electricity if any enemies approach/try to interfere with the hydreigon.
- naturally, gigi streams the view from above, phone clasped in an iron grip, but her phone will be quickly shoved into her pocket at any sign of danger. can't risk her precious phone too much.

A cheer filled Rex as he spotted the likes of , , , and at the supply truck, a whoop of victory escaping his lips as One shrieked and sqawked in triumph. This looked like it was really working! Had they recognized him, they better be. Man, he should be recording this, so they knew what he was doing! [break][break]

One trotted on the ground, waiting long enough for Four to get on before flying after the truck. The Raichu was a good enough fighter, he supposed...both Armaldo and Haxorus could catch up. Besides, Two probably wanted to fight. Darting after Rex, Two hissed in glee and slashed Fury Cutter at anything that came near, the Haxorus supporting her with Dual Chop. The two Pokemon would keep any forces from chasing the truck as they proceeded, at least Rex hoped. [break][break]

And then a mass of nightmares lunged for the truck. A Guzzlord, though Rex didn't know its name. All he knew was that, right now, he was going to watch everyone in the truck die...and yet he himself didn't want to die either. His hands flew up to his ears, trying to block out the everything that churned his stomach and stopped his heart. Scared. Terrified. Coward. The Mega Stone hanging from his ears glowed from the burst of emotion. [break][break]

And One responded. If he needed a protector, the beast would always respond. A wavering scream escaped the two as the Aerodyactl erupted into a rocky exterior, returned to its true form, it could truly be brave for him, show its strength. [break][break]

"You're all so stupid!" He shrieked, hugging his Mega Evolved monster, the wind tearing at his body as One screamed towards the leaping Guzzlord, "You all want to die, don't you? Stupid! Stupid!" Why was everyone he liked in the truck!? Why was he someone that had to save them!? He was Rex, what the hell did they expect from him!? [break][break]

One's fangs grew into Ice Fang, monstrous power erupting into icy spikes that aimed to rip and tear at the monster's arms. At the same moment, Grass Knot sprang up, the strangely trustworthy Raichu attempting to restrain or trip the Guzzlord, just for a second...because the moment One struck, Rex lost his courage, pulling on One's horns to prompt the beast to fly up and away as fast as they could. Rex is trying to keep Guzzlord away from the truck but will fly away the moment he attacks! Raichu is on Aerodyactl with Rex! The rest of his team is on the bridge! Rex is in "civilian" form, recognizable from the Beauty Contest!

Oh, dear Arceus, it wasn't going to stop. Moana watched in horror as the monster ate up the hazards that he and a few others had thought to put in its path, stones and spikes and webs alike. And, oh god, it was getting closer. This huge thing was a lot faster than it looked like it was moving a few moments ago. Moana turned and ran, but he was sure it wasn't enough, that the Guzzlord was right behind him. His team followed, Pertapa skittering along at a surprising speed, Wali flapping ahead of him, and Keila in Moana's arms. Moana recalled Tynnu and Pertapa; there was no way the Alolan Geodude would be able to outrun that monster on his two short arms, and though Pertapa was moving quickly, he didn't want to risk her getting trampled.

The Guzzlord was close. Really, really too close for comfort. It swung its heavy tail, and Wali, who had gotten ahead, acted quickly. The Sigilyph grabbed Moana with his psychic powers and tried to pull him roughly out of the way of the attacking behemoth. In case that wasn't enough, Keila in Moana's arms would erect another Protect, the barrier hopefully deflecting the Guzzlord's possible attacks or any debris.

If he got the opportunity, Moana would release Pertapa from her ball again, the Dwebble glaring at the comparatively huge Guzzlord. The bug-type skittered forward, seemingly fearless in the face of such a massive opponent, crossing her pincers with an X-Scissor and aiming to take off one of the Guzzlord's tongue-arms. Moana watched carefully, hand on the Pokeball's recall button in case things seemed to go south.



SUMMARY:
- Moana runs from the Guzzlord, as does his team. 
- Moana recalls Alolan Geodude and Dwebble because he's scared Guzzlord would trample them.
- Sigilyph, who's flown ahead, uses Psychic to pull Moana (and Pineco) out of the way of the charging Guzzlord.
- Pineco, held by Moana, uses Protect just in case. 
- If he can, Moana will release Dwebble from her ball, who will attack one of Guzzlord's tongue-arms using X-Scissor. Moana will attempt to recall Dwebble if the Guzzlord seems to be about to land an attack on her.

Bold though he was, even Gavin flinches as the Kartana's blades are stopped just short of slicing him to ribbons. His Corviknight lets out a deep, defiant quark as its metal wings deflect their attacks. When it folds them, Gavin spots 's fading defenses and lifts his hand in a gesture of silent thanks.[break][break]

Marcel's hand on his arm then draws his attention away, and Gavin dismounts to follow his lead into the back of the truck.[break][break]

He recognizes several others in the truck, all agents of Rocket (, @samuel, ) and acknowledges them all with a terse nod, eye contact, grateful to be among allies but noticeably on edge. When scrambles in afterward, he spares her only a brief glance before redirecting his gaze out of the truck to keep an eye on his Pokemon. His insides churn with worry that he doesn't express nor display.[break][break]

His Pokemon are well-trained to operate on their own instincts when threatened, and he trusts them to do so, only whistling to draw the attention of Lucario and signalling it for a heal. Droplets of LIFE DEW scatter like rain.[break][break]

It's Corviknight who spots the threat of Guzzlord along the vehicle's path. Gavin sees the silver bird launch itself skyward with aggression and intent, then soar over the truck and vanish. It attempts to steer clear of the trajectory of attacks, circling overhead and awaiting an opportune time to strike. It swoops in from behind; the avian THIEF attempting to hook its sharp talons around a thrashing tongue or tentacle and rip it free.[break][break]

Should it succeed, it would fly back to the truck to gift its master with the token like a cat depositing a dead bird on the porch.[break][break]

Lycanroc, lacking wings or any other convenient method to chase its avian ally, hurls some of the boulders from their earlier fight down at the fray below. Hopefully, the ROCK SLIDE would be effective.[break][break]

Metagross, meanwhile, hovers after the truck under the effects of its MAGNET RISE, ready to body block or otherwise combat attempts by the Megalopolans to interfere with its path.[break][break]

Looking over his sharpedo, the whole endeavor had left him with a few new gouges on his rough skin. The hulking fish providing some cover to the boy's meager form, he placed a hand on the sandpaper flesh to gently probe at one. The shark's glowing gaze flicked menacingly at Andy, causing him to slowly retract it.

An obnoxious noise piecing the air drew the lot's attention in time to see a camerupt, no a mega camerupt begin to spray fire into the already devastated forest. At first, a grin tugged at Blackadder's lips, hearing those kartana burn. But then the flames began to leap around through the trees, spreading through the broken branches and tinder.

''Yanmega!'' His pokemon were all startled. The desire not to be burned to death was fairly universal it seemed. ''I know!'' Pokeball still in hand, he beamed the sharpedo back into his den. He would be too big and heavy to fly. Besides, he had done his job for the time being. ''Gengar!'' His ghost pokemon once again faded into his shadow as yanmega clasped the back of his shirt.

''To that camerupt,'' the young trainer growled. ''Yanmega,'' the pokemon protested. The ultra beast barreling towards it had not escaped his notice through the flames. ''Fuck that lumbering mouth testicle. I got a bone to pick.'' Regardless of what Ravana thought of the decision, anything was better than sticking around within the growing fires.

Zipping over the smoke and flames, the boy caught a few coughs and wheezes from the smoke wafting through the air. As they grew close, a collection of other trainers seemed to be tossing everything they had at the guzzlord. Doing as she was bade, the yanmega sat Andy down near the closest human to the camerupt (), a great hulking man that was hard to miss, even if there were a crowd of people.

Splinters and singes decorated his white shorts and emerald pleated shirt, his matching high socks bunched around his shoes rather than up at his scraped knees. A suspender nearly hung off of one shoulder completely. ''Is this shithead yours!?'' A finger was thrust at the camerupt. ''Are you trying to burn me alive dick kisser!? I was trying to lay low in there!'' Then a brow lifted.

from the top of the van kaine was able to get a good view of the speeding battlefield and the horrors that the team on the path were facing. for a moment he felt lucky that he wasn't part of their group as they tried to stave off a rampaging beast, however one look back onto the road and he could only question who was more luckier. them or his own group. after all the ground team didn't have to deal with one of those large creatures trying to break down the road with its strange appendages as well as firing off a hyper beam at them. "get down!"

his scyther and venomoth hug each other in a cluster on top of the van as its moving while everything is firing off on their end. "scyther, go low and try to tear off its arm-tongue-whatever that is. venomoth quiver dance. we need some extra power if this doesn't work." the venomoth let go of the van and fluttered behind it in a quiver dance to psych itself up should it be part of a rescue if the van started to fall. meanwhile scyther rolled off and flew his way towards the guzzlord with his blades drawn and locked onto one of the tongues from the beast and slashed at it with an x-scissor to try and tear it off of the bridge and probably sever it as well.

he knows knows. he leaves the tough decision to her as he doesn't stop his manectric to deal with the imminent problem. "good luck," he teases with a two-finger salute as he speeds up all the way from on turn to the next.

the chaos beyond the turn is apparent from the noise of panic and distress. he makes a decision based on the assumption that at either bailey or least one person in the truck know what they're doing and forces his manectric to a skid as they reach the next corner.

"we're doing a drive-by," he instructs his pokemon. while his manectric and smeargle listen to instructions, the type:null follows its trainer out of them out of insight. "and then we're going again."

the type:null clears the way, bulldozing through multiple megalopolans with its iron head and clearing the way for kyle and his manectric to go through.

the manectric slows down as friction burns through his paw pads. his manectric and the smeargle on his shoulders aim at the guzzlord below the cycling road and fire with a charge beam and a hyper beam respectively.

as soon as the attacks are fired, kyle whistles for his manectric to keep on going through the bridge. the electric-type's legs start moving to a sprint once more before they can even check the results of their attack.

In the distance, Aggron and Kommo-o could see Bailey as she confronted their distant foe; their task understood as they remained close to the truck as they had been told.[break][break]

So, when it tried to speed away, they figured out their own way for hitching a ride; Aggron, made almost weightless through the use of magnet rise, clasped a hand to the back bumper of the truck as its wheels began to peel against the bare ground beneath them. Like a balloon, the steel-type merely floated as the truck dragged him with no resistance.[break][break]

The steel-type would have laughed and flipped off his dragon counterpart, had the Kommo-o not taken the opportunity to latch to the Aggron like an enraged Purugly; the dragon sinking his claws into the shoulders of the Aggron to stand upon him.[break][break]

They were effortlessly dragged behind the vehicle, unaware of what was unfolding inside; they had been told to protect the truck, not the people that chose to occupy it.[break][break]

There was only one problem with this plan; the turn. As the truck began to take on the first bend, the twist of the vehicle unveiled the stretch of land that ran out from underneath it; distant patches of wild grass and megalopolans that dotted the canvas like small, aggressive white dots.[break][break]

And the Guzzlord.[break][break]

Temptation for battle overrode logic; Bailey's pokemon felt the same inclination for violence as she felt, and Aggron and Kommo-o embodied the worst of these impulses. One by the process of shadowification, and the other by the satisfaction that had been wrought when he had struck Regirock.[break][break]

Aggron released his grip from the truck, shooting straight for the concrete barrier that would have prevented someone from toppling over; they leaped straight over it, fueled by a speed that had been gained from the truck and from their current state of weightlessness.[break][break]

They soared, and then, they fell.[break][break]

They hit ground, then, slid as magnet rise refused to let their momentum be stopped.[break][break]

Both pokemon, now departing from one another, would aim to slam into the hyper beaming Guzzlord with their combined force; metal burst and outrage slamming into the same side of the Ultra Beast with an undaunted fury.[break][break]

They were smiling with their teeth gritted and their fists clenched, wondering if their combined force would be enough to make the Ultra Beast be derailed mid-strike.[break][break]

Bailey had seen the decent of her pokemon; then, she saw the flailing of the arms of the approaching Guzzlord. Its maw-like appendages were aiming to make short work of the cycling bridge, and she cursed without hesitation.[break][break]

She felt a rhythm in the rush; a familiar feeling as she let her hand fall from the clutch. Accelerating away from the mouth of the beast, she realized she was not the intended target for the oncoming hyper beam; she was too far ahead. It would cut the space behind her.[break][break]

Her steelix was entering the final stages of mega evolution; he pushed onward, seeking to sink his ice-ensnared teeth into one of the encroaching black limbs with ice fang.[break][break]

Togekiss, who had taken damage prior, was reinvigorated by the distant use of life dew from an unseen participant as it released another burst of sharpened air; casting air slash to the closest of Guzzlord's appendages.[break][break]

tldr: aggron and kommo-o hitch a ride on the truck; as the truck goes for the first turn (prior to the hyper beam), they release and attempt to launch themselves off the cycling road via friction-less speed gained from the truck and magnet rise. as they launch themselves, they hit the ground and aim to attack the hyper beaming guzzlord with a combination of metal burst (aggron, having taken fallen damage) and outrage (kommo-o) to potentially interfere in its trajectory. mega steelix and togekiss attack the guzzlord's arms, using ice fang and air slash. togekiss possibly benefiting from the use of life dew from [break][break]

he's consumed by the penumbra the moment he hears the purr of the engine and the chords of the van's music; a cold rushes that lurches him forth along the length of the cycling road railing, displaced, and neither here nor there. he flickers back into place moments later, a short distance behind the elite four and champion as the former veers off down the curvature of the road.

in those precious seconds, as his head spun with something between vertigo only exacerbated by adrenaline, dominic can't quite make out the minute detail of the guzzlord in front of them, but he can recognise the tell-tale whine of a HYPER BEAM. cursing under his breath, dominic moves west at the corner as the alcremie attached to him raises an optimistic PROTECT; although the guzzlord is aiming more toward the van than them based on where dominic can see it facing, he cannot be sure the of the attack's radius and whether it will clip him from where he stands. ready to take paltry cover behind whatever rubble he can find, dominic turns back to watch the van approach.

dominic realises the people inside won't hear him, but his pokemon should; he whistles to catch the attention of his togekiss, steelix and luxray and then gestures - a sharp flicker of his hand that means danger, move. the togekiss and steelix jerk violently to their left, away from the van and moving diagonally toward their trainer, and luxray follows after lifting itself with MAGNET RISE. as it flutters its wings, togekiss summons a METRONOME in the direction of the van and its occupants, hoping that whatever esoteric power it summons will be able to offer some protection.

before the hyper beam can be fired, but after the leaps of bailey's pokemon, the steelix will raise a STONE EDGE at the perimeter of the road where it curves; a makeshift and meagre attempt to stunt the guzzlord's attack with an angled, rock barrier.

The large number of ultra beasts that focused on the vehicle caused worry and stress to stain the gym leader’s expression. There’s too many of them. Too many poisonous dragons, too many origami-like aliens, and two many Guzzlord to her liking.

“We’re like sitting ducks in here!”

Regaining her composure is a key part to fulfilling her role correctly. Katherine couldn’t afford messing up now. With a dismissive shake of her head, her concerns are discarded and replaced with determination and a sequence of commands that she issues to her pokemon.

“We’re keeping this truck safe no matter what happens.”

Her Reuniclus erects a protective barrier in response to those words, whereas her Dusknoir, who’d been under stealth and hidden in the shadows of the car, causes the earth under the hyper-beaming Guzzlord to tremble. It aims to disrupt the creature’s rhythm, if such a thing is even possible.

“ . . If one of you has a good flying-type or some pokemon who can teleport faster than this car is moving, feel free to mention it.” She deadpans at both of her bosses, “Like, seriously. Right now would be a great time. I don’t think we can or should stay in here much longer.”

notes:
☆ reuniclus uses PROTECT on the truck, hopefully shielding it from the hyper beam should it connect.
☆ dusknoir, who's still hiding in the shadow of the vehicle, uses EARTHQUAKE on the area guzzlord is standing on. mostly to disrupt it from aiming well / temper with its shooting.
☆ sableye is idle / with katherine inside the car, blacephalon is still inside their pokeball.

[attr="class","ePostMain"]marcel pulls out his phone as he settles on a bench, his pokemon keeping a close eye on anyone who entered the van after them. opening up a map, he watches their location marker for a moment before letting go, the rotom-phone moving to float by his side. he spares his company a glance.

"keep calm, katherine," he says as the door slams shut. it's all he can get out before the music plays.

"hey!" marcel turns to the front of the van as he tries to shout over the noise. "turn it off!"

through the back window, his clefable curiously watches dominic's luxray, cheerful despite the situation. as the electric-type lifts off the ground, it uses COPYCAT to rise in sync. marcel pulls his pokemon closer to him, mindful of the cramped space, while his golduck to throw a LIGHT SCREEN up alongside katherine's PROTECT.

seemingly tired of its company, marcel's gardevoir begins to drift up and through the roof. the top of its head peeks out from the van; quietly, it observes the mayhem. it rises further enough to hurl a MOONBLAST at the megalopolans ahead before slinking back down again. the ghost-type blinks as it catches the glint of a hyper beam incoming.

[attr=class,bulk]Adrian grasped at the earth, shoving his palms into the dirt to push himself up while the battle raged on around them. It became evident they were too distanced from the main group, and that their splinter force had been overrun, leaving the task force behind them susceptible. "Karma, we need to regroup," he barks as he spits out blades of grass. Raising its spoons, Alakazam began to invoke its powers of teleportation, a faint glow emanating from Adrian and company as it wrapped its influence around them as one might a blanket. But just before the magician could pull the metaphorical curtain on its own trick, the remaining Megalopolans and their contingent force began to mobilize. But Karma had known this would happen, and had been keeping an ace up its sleeve.[break][break]

If eyes were windows to the soul then Karma's were a beacon to the very spirit of malice, those sentient, beady orbs glowering at the objects of its ire, staring through windows of their own, though soon bereft of spirit. And so with merely a thought their windows were shuttered forevermore, never again to let that decrepit thing they called a soul shine through in this realm or any other...[break][break]

With the Kartana momentarily lacking a firm hand to coordinate them, they became spontaneously insubordinate for but a moment perhaps in part due to the intimidating presence of Furor at Adrian's side, permitting Karma that brief yet necessary moment required to calculate the exacting metrics of its teleport, that they might avail themselves to the battle raging ahead.[break][break]

They landed just short of the forest's edge, which gave them time enough to watch as a Guzzlord plowed towards their forces, slowed by the myriad tactics in their employ. Yet the goliath thrashed and struck out against them, its gangly, toothy limbs grasping for anything to sink into for leverage. But while all were fixated on the beast, Adrian could see the Cycling Road overlooking it, and the Megalopolans stationed there. But he noticed bodies begin to fly.[break][break]

They've got the truck moving, good, he muses to himself before pondering the situation at hand, wanting to tip the scales so that events unfolded in their favor.[break][break]

"Vixen, Dazzling Gleam to blind it, and Omen, break its tail!" While the lumbering Ultra Beast's fixation at its fore kept it preoccupied, Adrian's Gardevoir lobbed a sphere of misty energy forward towards the eyes apparent at the crest of Guzzlord's forehead for maximum incapacitation. In doing so it could but helplessly flail about while Omen rushed forward, its swole forearms bulking up with anticipation before either hand caught its tail before squeezing tightly until it felt what might've been bone, and then wrenching and contorting the appendage in such a way as to cripple its optimal function, if not render it entirely useless.[break][break]

Fighting on all fronts, the Guzzlord was left reeling in disarray.[break][break]

If Adrian had any battle sense, all that was left was the coup de grâce.[break][break]

"Furor, use Waterfall and follow up into the river NOW!"[break][break]

All that was left was to hope that his instincts had been warranted, watching and listening as the guttural bellowing of his red Gyarados disappeared through the trees and towards the Guzzlord, tackling it towards the water with its momentum.
