The number of people dressed in Johto-esc clothing reminded Killian too much of home. He wasn't homesick per se, but it definitely made him miss Goldenrod and Ecruteak City. Feeling the nostalgia, Killian swapped out his jacket and hoodie combo for a kimono. Black with red trim, he wasn't exactly sure if he wore it well. It had been ages since he'd worn anything like it.

He fidgeted with the cloth around his waist as he traversed the town. Keeping his eyes open for a particular redhead he'd recently reconnected with. When Killian finally spotted Alexandra Briarwood she was in the middle of playing a game run by Noelani Kekoa. He was hesitant to approach, especially when he saw the child clasping onto her leg.

They...they hadn't had a child had they? He blinked, staring at them from a distant, but ultimately deciding to approach. Casually, he stepped to the side of Lex that was absent the clinging child. "I see you got started with out me." he smiled, a slight uncomfortableness in his otherwise friendly tone.

A small puff of laughter left him at Andy Blackadder's response. No trace of real insult there, so Hideo Kino didn't have to worry about Chu-e getting all huffy and leaving. "You've picked a spicy one, good job." Clicking his tongue, he chanced to try and give Hideo a light ruffle of the hair. "But, yeah, if you two wanted to be alone, I won't play chastity police. This might be the Spirit Festival, but it is also Valentine's."

When Hideo continued, he still seemed quiet pleased with the whole situation but didn't try to tease or argue with the kid any. Hideo was sweet, trying to smooth over any creased between him and Andy, but on Chu-e's side there wasn't anything to worry about. Kid might make a good diplomat.

"I do need to bounce in a few, though. Nothing to do with either of you, promise! My date is just probably wandering around all sleepy eyed. Gotta go bully him into winning me a stuffed Miltank."

A swing and a miss. The bell barely moves. Fernando notes the position of his strike—the intended zone, anyway—and grimaces while he scours his brain to commit the position to memory. He even references an inch off the censor's rim for good measure. [break][break]

Lars follows up with his attempt and his progress is remarkable in comparison. Fernando doesn't go so far as to inspect his form thoroughly but the result helps confirm that his own strike was clearly in the 'no fly' zone. Good enough. He stands by his statement and from the two data points tries to triangulate where the ideal attempt should breach. [break][break]

Kazimir, the one immediately after them, gives them a good jeer as Fernando squats to get a better view of when the mallet connects. The actual wind up doesn't matter to him so his eyes remain fixated at the end of the hammer. When it pings farther than either of theirs, Fernando squints, eye's narrow as he sets on a new hypothesis. [break][break]

Angelo puts the cherry on top. With four different attempts, there's no way he'll miss it now. He knows the sweet spot! [break][break]

"Got it," Fernando states matter-of-factly, unfazed by his pathetic results. "It's one of two spots." [break][break]

His wooden sandals let out a resounding 'clip clop' as he pushes himself out of his squat and back at full height, clearly the tallest of the bunch by a clean three inches. [break][break]

Suddenly, a large marionette in red Gyarados design came between Alexei Ivanov and Remiel as it maneuvered through the crowd mid-Dragon Dance. The latter watched, beside his Galarian Meowth, in awe as the handful of people hiding beneath the construct operated it. Firecrackers popped loudly nearby and, before he knew it, red and yellow confetti began to rain from the sky above. The royal admired the sight.[break][break]

Thorgrim, on the other hand, was startled by it all.

Noting his cat's alert and tense posture, Remiel crouched down beside it to offer it the last piece of dango on his skewer. "Where's that bloody smirk, hm? I'm offering you the last of my treat. You should be thankful." He remarked, watching as the feline finally blinked out of its state and chomped away (skewer and all) at the delicacy it was offered.[break][break]

Although he'd be chagrined to admit it, Remiel smiled a little at the sight. Though it was marred by a subtle sadness. Another moment shared without her, after all.[break][break]

Humming Noelani was quick to reply to Lex “Because anyone decent would have made sure to come join you at the festival to share the moment. You are a catch after all.” Finishing off with a wink and shrugging his shoulders while his shadow chuckled again Noelani drifted away for a moment as the stall suddenly saw an influx of customers and the poor interns were lowkey panicking.

“I’ll be right back” was his last call out before he turned to serving people. A lot of people tried their hand at the game another redhead tried his hand at magikarp scooping even turning more competitive on his repeat tries but sadly all his attempts ended in failure. Offering him a pitying grin at the man Noelani gave him a consolation prize of two traditional good luck charms and one that wished for lasting love.

The scarred man that clearly had no idea what he was doing fared way better though and actually managed to scoop a magikarp on his first try. Clapping briefly the alolan spoke “Congratulations, a bit swamped right now, but give a minute I’ll be back with your prize.”

Swiveling Noelani oversaw a couple more attempts but they all weren’t successful. Still the participants did receive consolation prizes in the odd knickknacks that wouldn’t have sold meaning all of them got luck charms, a cookie and of course the business card of Odd Job Workers with a number and email for contacts on it. He slipped two to the performer that had decided to stop at the stall.

His attention was pulled once more when he heard another familiar voice prompting a chuckle out of him as Noelani turned to greet skyler dross “I do have to finances those exploration trips somehow.” Seeing though as he wouldn’t be able to hold her attention long he sneakily handed her a business card along side a charm that had “Favorable winds” inscribed on it.

He had prizes to deliver though and with that Noelani deftly retreated to the back picking two pokeballs and a small machine that would transfer ownership of the magikarp to the two winners. After returning the two pokemon into their balls the alolan first stopped by Raziel Beckett offering a smile and patting the machine as he put it on the counter “Please enter your id here and then press your hand over there. Simple as that and you can take your prize” he made sure to gesture at the correct parts of the machine but it was as simple as he had said meaning the man could get it done quickly.

Finally returning to Alexandra Briarwood he put the machine on the counter next to her while giving a theatrical sigh “Feh, that was a sudden influx of people.” Pausing to glance at her he asked “So just wandering around or here for work?” Just general fishing at what she was up to as he winded down and was preparing to hit his interns with that he was going to be taking a break.[break]

The magikarp minigame is now closed. Raziel Beckett and Alexandra Briarwood with the both of you having tied with highest number you both receive the Prize. You can redeem the Magikarp in the shop.[break]

content with his food and content that the girl who tried to sell him whatever that abomination was had finished with him jinhai began to walk once more. to where he wasn't sure. but the rumbling in his stomach was quelled for now at least. he wouldn't have to worry about an embarrassing stomach rumble if he did happen to run into someone. though he was really hoping he wouldn't. but instead of worrying about that he finally wandered away from the food stalls and off towards some of the other stalls to have a look. there were plenty of things to be seen or do but really he was just enjoying watching. he hated crowds and every time someone brushed against him he felt as though he might scream. but for now he could deal with it. feeling like he was back home was worth the nightmare. stopping for a moment he looked up as some more fireworks crackled up into the sky. they were beautiful.

"Hey Serena." He's not willing to let either of their prompts interrupt his drag, siphoning the smoke with an exhausting breath before locking his mouth and handing it around. For a moment he is silent and still, but then he releases a billow of smoke with a single exhale. His posture eases up, and Adrian feels less tense, if a little out of control. "Don't drop it," he mutters to Gavin as it changes hands.

It takes another moment still until Adrian addresses his sister. "Well, ya could've texted me." Most of his night had been exchanging texts, and he didn't recall flicking past a 'where r u' while checking his notifications. Maybe he'd missed it. "You seemed to be enjoying yourself just fine." He's a little bit teasing, but also resolute in his assertion.

There was something else he wanted to say. Not to Serena Malcolm, but to Cillian Quinn, on the subject of avatars and their patrons. But with the conversation quickly flowing, he wouldn't interject, and instead omitted his uniquely pertinent viewpoint on the matter.

The young prince slaps his palms against his thighs before rising in posture. "Well then... time to find us something else to try." He states, prompting Thorgrim to grin after he's finished chewing the rice dough dumpling (and the wooden stick it had been speared upon). As Remiel turns his head to and fro, however, he fails to spot the companion (Alexei Ivanov ) that had accompanied him here a short while earlier.[break][break]

"Let's keep an eye out for the blonde as well."

Weaving through the crowd, and forced to pause as the red Gyarados marionette crossed their path again, the young ambassador reached a long pavilion of stalls selling cuisine, desserts, and other treats. Rich aromas, varying in intensity and flavor, flooded his nostrils. The warm glow from the fire that cooked a large saucer of stir fry reached his skin like gentle sunlight. At least three different food vendors, all dressed in traditional Chinese chef wear, yelled out to him, inviting him over to their respective stalls with wide grins and open hands.[break][break]

Still standing beside his trainer for the time being, Thorgrim's attention remained focused on the large marionette that had passed them earlier. With a mischievous and scratchy chuckle, the cat plucked a single golden coin from its beard and attempted to flick it at the marionette's head with his claw (PAY DAY). But the accuracy of his aim was certainly something to question.[break]

Having left behind his stall for a moment in order to decompress Noelani decided to look around and see what his competition had to offer. A few of the food stall almost made him stop but he went on and resisted the urge for now. Instead, his gaze was drawn to a particular stall where a Hammer Arm King game was set.

As always those were packed with show offs and well ones that thought they were show offs. There was also always one weirdo at such stalls and this one was no different made obvious by the man squatting and glaring at the standing zone. Shrugging his shoulders, the alolan paid the owner for one game and waited for his turn.

Rolling up the sleeves of the traditional outfits he had changed into Noelani then took the rubber mallet in hand. He turned towards FERNANDO SILPH and accepted the challenge “You are on.” Before moving to try his hand at the game.

Preparing himself mentally for a moment the alolan then swung down with all his might at the dead center of the sensor.

Angelo’s lips curl in amusement against the rim of his cheap bottle of rum, eyebrow quirked as the liquid burns a trail down his throat and settles warm in his belly. Flashing, obnoxious lights slowly beginning to turn softer as he drinks – sensibilities fading around the corners, too.[break][break]

“A bet? Sure. I’m game,” he agrees, despite having near empty pockets. Thirst for the potential of making something more, his skin dancing with the thrill of the competitive balancing act, goading him into something reckless. Sabine's brows come together in a way that is simultaneously forboding and sexy. She isn't convinced by Lulu's reassurances, and especially unconvinced by the nonchalant way she attempts to brush the topic aside.

If the mysterious blonde woman had truly been 'no one special', then how come this was the first time Sabine had ever seen Lulu react in such a viseral way? And how could she pull that same reaction out of her, but directed toward herself?[break][break]

The challenge was too great, and Sabine's competitiveness combined with her jealousy to unleash some sort of beast. This, of course, is only spurred on by the way Lulu's hand snatches hers again with fervor. Their eyes meet and Sabine holds hers steady, a challenge in her bright green hues.[break][break]

"That depends, Lulu. I really like to win."[break][break]

Encouraged by the woman's devious smirk and Sabine's own obsessive need to be right, her hand snakes out to cusp Lulu's cheek. She pulls the other woman in close to press her lips against hers, unabashed in her pursuit of passion.[break][break]

Simone watched Kazimir slowly try and walk, noticing that he was struggling Simone was happy to help him get where he needed to be. He wasn't up to much in the first place, "No problem" Giving the man a curt nod Simone did his best to try and support him as the two of them made the way to the strongman game, which had a number of people around.

Kazimir seemed to be fine a lot faster then Simone had been expecting as he wobbled over towards the game and gave it a pretty impressive swing. He lightly whistled and clapped for Kazimir "Great job" He said with a chuckle. Craning his neck at the question Simone never really played the game - it seemed rather simple. He awaited for everyone to go first, politely clapping for each attempt - none of them seemed to top Kazimir's score but Simone was sure he wouldn't do much better. Clearing his throat Simone handed the worker the cash to participate as well. Grasping the hammer he gave it a swing. Simone was dumbfounded by the score, scratching at his blonde hair finding it strange how he beat the previous score.Shrugging it off as just sheer luck or the game being rigged, he gave the other blonde man a pat against his shoulders. "I'll be going now, have fun with your friends." He gave Angelo and Kazimir a wave before venturing off in a new direction.

"I-Is that a kid up there!?"

One of the chefs at the stir fry stall exclaims, tearing his hat off his head before pointing up at the sight. A good portion of the surrounding crowd turns to regard it as well and, suddenly, the pavilion is filled with terrified gasps and a din of worried muttering. A wandering Drifloon, likely attracted by the lanterns floating above, carries a young child dangerously high across the sky.[break][break]

Thorgrim begins to wheeze with laughter at the sight. Remiel, on the other hand, clicks his tongue as he reaches beneath his robes for a luxury ball clipped to his belt. After he's summoned his Dragapult, Mephistopheles, the ambassador's eyes narrow on the young figure above (Andy Blackadder). Why does the kid look so familiar? Mephisto croaks to draw his attention, however, and he is quick to utter a command afterwards.[break][break]

"Send your Dreepy out to release the child from the Drifblim's grip," He orders, calmly pointing upwards. "But be careful-- and be swift to carry the child down to safety afterwards. Go." And, swiftly, the Dragapult does just so. The first stage of its rescue has it firing a set of Dreepy from its horns (DRAGON DARTS) that shoot upwards towards their target before biting away at its appendages like piranha.[break][break]

The second stage, should everything go as planned, involves the child in question in freefall for a brief period of time. Though only for a mere second or two, the crowd collectively holds their breath before the Dragapult sinks into and appears out from a portal (PHANTOM FORCE), reappearing just beneath the kid and carrying them across its wide horns. The crowd cheers.[break]

notes: A Drifblim carrying away a child is brought to the attention of Remiel. As Thorgrim laughs, the royal sends out his Dragapult to strike the Drifblim down with Dragon Darts and carry the kid down to terra firma.[break][break]
