At last, Shalin was about to get to the good stuff. This was the first extremely challenging trick on the board: the OVER-THE-GYARADOS, a multi-axial flipping sequence that involved a precisely-timed leap at the end while already dizzy from the rapid twists needed for the setup. It was rated EXPERT 17 for a reason. This was one she did not mind taking the time to watch an instructional video for. After reviewing the footage a couple of times, she cast off and waited for a big wave to get enough height for the move. The twists didn't seem like they would be too difficult, but the jump had to be perfectly timed, lest her Mantine would knock her into the bay.

Pulling up to another wave, Derek and Jonesy ride well as they scale upwards in an attempt to perform a simple LANTURN. It was a particularly simple trick, though there was always a chance for failure. Unforeseen elements taking a toll on his performance. Fatigue was one of them.
