So the last thing he found was so small, he’d almost missed it.

But it did give one of his fingers a pretty bad cut, so that was a few days away from the waves, and especially from diving, in order to allow it enough time to heal over.

But the prospect of shinies was… too much for his goblin brain not to pass up.

So, despite the bandage on his finger, he was here again, down and at it, as he took another dive underwater.

If Ruby was going to be stuck at Splashfest, she might as well make the most of it. Not in the same way a lot of the other participants were with making memories and doing as many activities as they could, though (she wouldn't be caught dead in a swimsuit context). When Ruby heard that there were actual valuables hiding in Slateport's seas, she figured it would be a great chance to make some extra money.

[break][break]She rode on Arachne's back out to sea, suited up in a wetsuit and diving gear. Once they'd found a good spot, Arachne dove down. The Araquanid was more used to fresh water than sea water, so she kept her water bubble deployed for the trip.

Though the proud, stubborn legendary would be loathe to admit it, Lugia has missed during his recovery. Gavin would get into the water and dive with her, but never with the same wonder and joy possessed by his partner.

So this exercise in learning how to dive better was as good for her as it was for Gavin; the more confidence he gained in the water, the less it would come across like a chore when he elected to swim with the Guardian of the Seas.
