Another snappy Basculin! Lazuli had to lull it to sleep with her Sing so Julia could unhook it and release it back into the ocean. "You know, I get it," she said even though the Basculin probably couldn't hear her. "If I got fished up, I'd probably be pretty confused, too." That was why she was trying to be as nice to her catches as possible!

A smaller catch than her prior ones. Moreover, one of a school. Elaine let the tiny fish back into the water as she let the slow breeze caress her and after a brief reprieve, she casted her line again.

Nico did enjoy fishing... for the most part. It wasn't something he could pursue often, but it did make him realize it may be beneficial to slow down every once and awhile. Practice some patience- oh sh- he already got a bite!

... Well, truth be told he'd honestly forgotten that Barraskewda was a pokemon that actually existed, and not some drawing from a 6 year old come to life. Regardless, as much as he appreciated how gentle the Pokémon had been with the line, he'd release it back, and recast the line. That one would have time to grow some more, surely it could grow larger than it already was, right?

Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock.

The longer Matus sat there and stared at the fish; the longer it continued to stare back at him, huge whiskers barely twitching with some mocking, goofy smile and beady little eyes that made the Whiscash look far more like some stuffed toy a kid had lost in the ocean, than a fish that had actually grabbed the line and held on with the fury of a thousand sharpedo. He didn't even know that Wishcash were in this area!

... Nope, as goofy as it looked, and as innocently as it was staring at him after eating an entire extra handful of bait that it somehow managed to puppy-eye out of Matus, he'd send the fish off. Gently reaching into the water to splash a bit in its direction. "Go on, get outta here. I'm done having an existential crisis over you."

There had to be other, less goofy looking water-types in the area, he refused to believe otherwise.

Josh didn't even bother switching ride Pokémon to go to his fishing spot. While the Sharpedo would be better at creating a disturbance to attract fish to his line, Resheph was more than capable of doing that with her AQUA TAIL. She flicked her tail back and forth a few times before coming to a stop in the wake she had created, Josh casting his line before the waters calmed too much in the windless twilight.

Shalin's secret fishing spot near the reef had served her well in the past, but it was completely dark there now; the sun had set fully, leaving the stars and the moon the only thing illuminating the water. It did not cast enough light to see; she would need to rely on Slateport's night district's lighting to fish from the dock. That did not typically yield good results, but beggars and late arrivals could not be choosers. She dismounted her Milotic after leaving her pole on the end of the dock, then climbed out of the water and cast her line in the shallows.

Unlike the others, there hadn't been a Pokeball readied for the little fish that found its way to him— but rather than by preference, it simply was due to a sudden lack of capsules that he found himself with.[break][break]

The Remoraid had already been long hooked and reeled from the waters by the time he'd realized his dwindling number of capture devices, but after some debate, he simply cast a curious eye towards the flailing fish before opting to pull it in closer. After suffering from a couple of haphazard slaps against the hand and wrist as the creature sought to escape, he simply unhooked it as quickly as he could before tossing it back into the waters.[break][break]

With more of a careful, selective mind, he baited the line and sent it out once more.[break][break]
