What... the fuck? Both of these images were fucked up. And now there was noise outside the room? Hadn't the game said to not make a sound if there was scratching on the door? What the hell kind of test was this?!

[break][break]She tried to remember what set disguised Megalopolans apart from regular humans. Slight blue tint? The images were in black and white. Sharp teeth? Both their mouths were closed. Biological irregularities? A definitely had those, but with B in the shadows, it was impossible to tell. Fight-or-flight response? They were static images. Watching too closely? They both were, and it was honestly kind of freaky.

The newest set of images prompted Gunner to frown. They were both unnerving, neither one looking human enough to pass. He scrolled back to reread the criteria for identifying a Megalopolan. However, different words captured his attention.[break][break]

The sounds outside his room could have just been his Pokémon moving around. Gunner liked to give Guinevere and Mordred free reign around his apartment. Whatever the noise was, it hadn't quite been clawing at his door.[break][break]

The unease only seems to grow - and it doesn't help when a sudden sound has Makoto jumping a bit (and by extension causes Kuro - who is relaxing in their shadow - to jump right out!) With a brief apology to the little zorua, Makoto sighs and turns their attentions to the game proper - though is unable to help a frown.

Both images are very off this time around, though for different reasons. One with a seemingly distorted face, and the other's only visible features being a pair of sharp eyes. It was a shame you couldn't say 'both', cause this felt like a bit of a trick question, when A and B were the only options you had.

Deciding against worrying too hard over it though - even as their heart beats noticably in their chest - they pick Option 1 - A this time.

Temp is so grateful that Cillian Quinn understands him. There were times it felt like communicating was hard. That he was trying to talk through a clump of mud lodged both in his throat and brain. It was a comfort.[break][break]

this time, they're given a person devoid of facial features to decide on based on their criteria, and one that eerily fits the vibes of one.

like the last round, there was little to work off with. it's still the right side that glitches, flickering in and out, so he's not sure if it's a hint anymore or just continuity.

he goes with his gut feeling this time, which doesn't usually work, but leaves him with no regrets.

What? No feedback? Elaine raised her eyebrow as she read through the prompt and realized that she had only merely seen what were the results of the majority vote but not seem any sort of change to the scenario. At least any visible change did not exist.

Her mind flashed back to one of the selection criteria.

Based on that alone, she felt that more from B. But she couldn't help but feel something was more and more off about this entire route. Would she go with her instinct and choose what seemed right to her or go against the grain and defy her captor's demands in a sense?

Well, this was merely a game. A weird route on an equally weird visual novel. There was only one proper response to her. Even so, she wanted to absolutely test the limits of how weird this route could get.

Here's an interesting thought— actually, screw this.

Luka's phone falls from her hands, a pink buneary case staring sappily back up at her as she stares at the screen in mild horror. She's never been good with jumpscares like this, even though the escalation could be seen a mile away.

Unease lifts the hairs at the back of her neck, and she could swear she hears something in the other room...though dismisses it as one of her Pokemon moving about at night. That's all it could be, right?
