[nospaces] [attr="class","omgen"] [attr="class","omgentop"]CHASE FOR THE SILPH CUP [attr="class","omgenmid"] FORTREE CITY MEMBER-LED EVENT STARTS MARCH 6 ENDS LATE MAY [player]https://fi.zophar.net/soundfiles/nintendo-gamecube-gcn/f-zero-gx/210a%20-%20One%20Ahead%20System%20%28Cosmo%20Terminal%29.mp3[/player] One Ahead System - F-ZERO GX OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK FORTREE CITY[break] Ordeal[break] Difficulty: ★★★★★☆[break] COURSE RECORD: 05'36"690[break][break] GONE WITH THE WIND THE NOISE OF ROARING WINDS drowned out banter between nearby racers and even some verbal commands. Many teams toward the back of the pack took the opportunity to show their true speed in relative safety. Elise Calcifet and her NOIVERN fiercely battled El Sunderland 's whistling TOGEKISS for control over the optimal angle of the TAILWIND the two had summoned. The two passed each other numerous times before reaching the narrow, wooded tunnel, the Galarian princess ultimately edging the young Ranger out for the position, nearly catching up to @elio and his GYARADOS. With a proud and determined roar, Andrea Vaneau 's SHINY GYARADOS took back to the sky after recovering from a rough scrape. While the duo were still a ways behind the rest of the competition, flying in the wake of the competitors' TAILWIND while simultaneously DRAGON DANCING let her surge forward and make up a lot of lost time. [break][break]
THE WHISTLING WINDS IN THE WAKE OF EXTREME SPEED complicated maintaining stable flight for those around SONIKKU's TOGEKISS and Josh Devlin 's DRAGONAIR that rocketed ahead of the competition using the fastest known Pokémon move their was. It put tremendous stress on the riders' bodies; it was stress that could not be ignored no matter how much skill and experience one had. The Gym Leader's biggest fan surged ahead of MATIAS SILPH and his DRAGONITE, who kept the pace up through the threat of harsh words. The Volatile had great racing fundamentals, and wasn't racing poorly by any stretch of the imagination. Sonikku was just racing better. She found herself in a battle with Julia Davis 's SALAMENCE for SEVENTH PLACE through the slowly narrowing woods leading up to the two nastiest turns on the course. This was no spot to have a battle for position! One of them would have to yield, or they would both be in big trouble![break][break] oscar clayton HOLDING HIS BEEDRILL TO ITS NATURAL SPEED gave him a great view of two TERSATAL Pokémon duking it out for FOURTH PLACE. lam logan 's TERASTAL TALONFLAME looked like a comet, despite holding Flame Charge back. Simply drawing on the Terastal phenomenon's INFINITY ENERGY was sufficient to surge ahead of alec foster . The Fallarbor Gym Leader wasn't going to let that stand, though, as he commanded his DRAGONITE to unleash a TERASTAL-powered burst of EXTREME SPEED. The dragon-type's wings briefly hummed before making a grating buzzing noise that shook Alec from the exertion. Even oscar clayton was able to feel the wake of the Dragonite's wings beating just as fast as his wasp's, thanks to the sheer power of its Terastallization. Alexei Ivanov 's decision to let his SALAMENCE rest along the open part of the course allowed the two speedy Terastal Pokémon to catch up, the Birdfather able to hear the pop of the Talonflame's crystal shattering. The three of them now found themselves within a split second of third place, which would almost assuredly be hotly contested upon exiting the wild curves ahead. [break][break]
ALL EYES REMAINED ON kyle lopez and his SHADOW TALONFLAME that held the lead with seemingly little effort. Every time Josh Devlin ordered his DRAGONAIR to make a move on the Emergent, the young Gym Leader's idol was one step ahead of him. The two were quickly running away from the rest of the field, perhaps setting the stage for a final-lap duel between the two. There was still a lot of race to go![break][break]
AFTER THE LONG STRAIGHTAWAY, a vicious, whiplash-inducing pair of semi-blind U-turns came up quickly. While the wind tunnel was hard to navigate, this curve had by far the highest decree of difficulty of anything the Ordeal had to offer. Being astride an extremely nimble Pokémon wouldn't be enough; racers had to respect their own limits as well. Taking such brutal, back-to-back curves at high speed could be incredibly disorienting, particularly for Pokémon that needed to fly nearly vertical to make such turns![break][break]
LAP 2 | OBSTACLE 3
NOTE: This Obstacle has more than one Target Number. Please indicate in your OOC notes which Target Number you are challenging.[break][break]
Prompt: Pokémon that showed the extreme speed of straight-line sprints better know how to put on the brakes, as the most vicious turn on the entire course was waiting in the weeds at the end of the long, progressively narrowing straightaway! Heading back into the dense woods, a semi-blind left-hand U-turn loomed ahead, followed by an equally severe right turn! Even if Pokémon had the turning strength needed to twist around the back-to-back hairpin turns without pumping the brakes too much, their riders would need to be ready to endure substantial whiplash.[break][break]
Target Number 1: 160 (Reaction)[break][break]
Special 1: Pokémon that meet or exceed this Obstacle's Target Number will gain 40 TP in addition to the normal Track Position gain for this Obstacle.[break][break]
Target Number 2: 120 (Reaction)[break][break]
Special 2: Track Position gained as a result of rolling above this Obstacle's Target Number will be halved, rounded up.
