while MATIAS SILPH does not receive a warm welcome from the councilwoman, Remiel Calcifet surely does. genuine joy turns her lips upward, radiating similarly to the smile she'd worn just moments ago around Eva Morales. 

"no thanks needed," she says. "really. you know how much this all means to me." he, maybe more than anyone else. aside from Roy Aker, he's the only person that knows the truth excavated from beneath the root of a lost family tree. so wholly warm with her newfound discovery, eva's comment that she and matias are the same does not find purchase on her mood.

"i think Eva Morales and i were just about to have our reading done actually."

but when MATIAS SILPH elbows her, freya's grin falls flat to a line of stoic professionalism and she primly says, "refrain from touching me again, silph. we're colleagues, not friends."

and then she turns, gently tugging the antlers from her hair and goes to right them back on eva's. her fingers drape lovingly over straw-blonde locks, though the tightness of her jaw and the cold, albeit brief flicker, to matias relays the true possessive nature of the movement.

"they look cuter on you anyway." a turn of her head. "genevieve - or do you prefer genny? - did you want to get your reading with us too?"

Eva’s mind multitasks and her eyes bounce over the other zodiac tablets while their little group grows. When prompted, she reads over Genevieve Cromwell’s Dragonair tablet. Apparently, the young ranger didn’t see herself as artistic. Eva didn’t know her well, but she shrugs, “Art and creativity takes many forms,” she dispels the common notion of what may be acceptable as ‘artistic’ in on sweeping motion.

The Goodra zodiac didn’t quite seem spot on. Of course, it’s hard to draw conclusions from the perception one has of themself, “You think so?” she asked MATIAS SILPH, reading over it again. Their Garchomp seemed to suit them quite nicely. Well, it’s all pretend so really it didn’t matter.

Remiel Calcifet chimed in on the conversation, short but sweet before his attention focused on the young Genevieve, “Good evening, Remiel,” she greeted with a smile, nodding to his suggestion at getting their fortunes read. Freya’s snap at Matias was certainly the perfect time to agree to a distraction, “Thanks!” she smiled, reaching up to adjust the antlers slightly so they sat behind her ears just right. She remained oblivious to the possessive nature of the action, “Alright, you first,” she motioned for Freya to approach the Zodiac Maniac first.

Afterwards, Eva would approach, requesting a reading about LOVE.

"thank you, DESIREE BLOOMS - it's lovely! and i hope you've been well, Thomas Benoit . nice to see you again."

in the process of people coming and going, Elise Calcifet also slips away. the scientist gives a little wave as the woman slips away to join a man - her boyfriend, perhaps?

and the change brings with it the familiar face of kyle lopez .

"kyle, a pleasure as always!"

though... alex's arms don't seem to share the same sentiment as kyle berates the former champion for returning without so much as a word. she understands, really, and does not feel the need to step in.

evelyn silph does, however, and illeana flashes a small, grateful smile for the interruption. at some point, his shoulder would've likely gone numb or heavily bruised.

and despite herself, she mostly just observes the people around them. evelyn silph is pretty, albeit not as familiar as she'd like. perhaps one day she'll change that. for now, she keeps her social battery in check...

until kyle excuses them to head for a drink. she nods and waves as they go, but she can't help the small ease of tension in her shoulders. parties are difficult - lots of small talk and awkward tension.

Remiel Calcifet makes an announcement shortly after and she turns to ALEXANDER STONE with a smile, choosing to enjoy the festivities than dwell on memories of a bitter nature.

"want your fortune read?"

her hand reaches for his to pull him closer to the zodiac exhibit. when she's close enough, she reaches out to touch the flygon stone. and after a moment, she approaches the reading table. she'd like to say she'd pick another topic, but the word love flies out of her mouth regardless of mulling over other options.
