Truly Yuina couldn't have fathomed that it would be this difficult to work out even one of the mid level tricks... She was considering taking a step back and trying to do something more simple to practice again. She was already sore, at this rate she would be pretty beaten by the end of the day. Though lucky for her she had a fast track to not having to nurse wounds the normal way.[break][break]
Taking a moment to breathe, Yuina stopped, pink brushing beneath her eyes at Doug's sheer and shameless audacity. So she had to stay on top of the mantine in order to work things out? Who would have guessed...[break][break]
"You're gonna sink to the bottom if you let your ego get any bigger," she warned, glancing down at him with a wry smile as he came back up from again attempting the most difficult maneuver with little success. Taunting her while also failing to perform? What a combination.[break][break]
"You keep that up I'll definitely have more points than you," she smiled. Maybe she was reaching too, she hadn't had any more success, but darnit if she wasn't going to keep going just to make him eat his words.

Ezra had learned to shoot for a music video. But that’d been on a board and not a living creature. Still, this stuff looked pretty easy. And it’d be the first time the older McKenna[ had invited him along for something. So, he accepted with a shrug.

But he didn’t exactly stay close. After about five seconds of family time, he wandered further up the beach. A fanboy gave him some free booze. He flirted with the beta bitch’s girlfriend. But apparently she was into nerdy losers. After taking a second to admire the bikini, he took the stranger’s place in line.

There was an undisguised hostility as he mounted the Mantine. His heels dug hard into its rough skin as he squared up. As his fake hand tightened around the handle, the worn rubber squished. “Look Shamu--” He didn’t actually have a demeaning nickname for this little fuck. “--you better not fuck up.”

His foot tapped the saddle for emphasis. “I could always use a near pair of shoes.”

With a swish of its wings, the Mantine took off. There were obviously nerves as it approached the first crest. “Primarina twist!” Best to start right in the middle.

Wow, she was REALLY bad at this, huh...?

So, no Magikarp Splash, no Over-the-Gyarados, no Starmie 720... Okay. Alright! That was okay! There were still plenty of tricks left for her to try. Like this one, the "Primarina Twist"! She'd always liked Primarina. They seemed very elegant and not particularly mobile. So, in that sense, it would be the perfect trick for her! Minus the elegance.

Airi does not like to fail, but she also does not like to quit either. Her last twice rounds were quite rough for her. For some reason she has not been able to stick the Primarina Twist at all. Instead of throwing in the towel, she spent a little extra time practicing her moves with the surfing instructor until she managed to rebuild her confidence. He encouraged her to give another move a try, but she is determined to master the previous moves again before moving on to the more challenging ones. Airi and Kite take the waves once more in hopes of scoring some major points with the Primarina Twist.

Hmph, I guess it isn't as easy as I thought. Pamplemousse shook water from his hair as he resurfaced after his failed stunt. Resolutely, he climbed back onto the Mantine and immediately began looking for another wave. Maybe he would try something different this time.[break][break]
