smoochum abandons her owner in favour of parading across the snowfield, a streak of pink striking a pose at anyone who glances her way, diy cotton wool beard-bib and hat flapping in the winter wind. her meandering path takes her by PENELOPE LIVY — in front of whom she pirouettes with a extra flourish. in the distance, nagi raises his hand in a feeble wave at his boss, before burying his frostbitten face in his wet, cold palm, forlorn. his fingers are starting to go numb in his gloves, moist and coated in a powdering of ice from when he attempted to pile the snow into a lopsided foundation for his snowboy. his nose smarts. between hoenn’s sweltering summer and the sharp winter cold, he’s come to the gradual realisation that he’s a cauliflower of a person — thriving only at room temperature. he’s starting to wish he made a bib and hat for himself, if only for the extra heat.

An entire year had passed since Barnaby's first holiday season in Hoenn. So much had happened within that span of time - both good and bad, depending on how you looked at it. Today, the journalist decided to focus on one of the best things that had occurred since the previous year's Snowboy Showdown.

Martín del Mar. The P.O.G. Bank CEO could be seen from a distance, with his back turned and his concentration conveniently directed at building his Snowboy.

Barnaby approached quietly, an unusually-colored VULPIX at his side. Castor's supple champagne coat was partially hidden beneath a gray, hand-knitted sweater. Not knitted by Barnaby, of course, but by some seamstress to whom he paid way more money than what most would consider necessary for Pokémon attire.

Still, his favored few deserved the best.

When the other man was finally within range, Barnaby would bend over and swiftly roll a dense snowball between his gloved hands. He raised his arm, poised to throw, until Mars gave him the perfect shot, then... WHOOSH!

One snowball aimed to land square in the middle of his partner's back.

Upon Martín del Mar's inevitable turn to see who would possibly take advantage of his innocent Snowboy building, he'd find Barnaby smiling with the most virtuous grin on his face.

[break][break] his two pokemon are able to roll the snow ball into the base, which is larger that ollie expected of either of them. it's nearly as big as a mega-evolved pokemon! he laughs as watches the two of them argue momentarily over the next snowball they start to form, just as a familiar face walks up.

[break][break] "oh you made it!" he says with a grin, walking over to annalise henderson and pulling her into a hug. he blinks as she pulls back, before his face brightens at the sight of her adorable eevee. "oh my god. that's adorable. eva, look!" he laughs again, as he points his sister towards the head ranger's dressed-up eevee, before he flashes a grin. "doesn't that kind of look like the sweater aunt ida gifted you one year?"

[break][break] out of the corner of his eye, he sees an undisguised Gunner Graves , feeling a sense of deja vu but unsure as to why the other looked so familiar. the sight of PENELOPE LIVY makes his stomach twist into knots, but he turns away from her to flash another grin at his sister and friend.
