The banging noise was met with a sigh. What a cheap, dirty trick.

Nikita recognized these faces. But that meant little in this scenario. If these people could change their features, there was no reason they could not imitate others.

He also noted that all of the choices up until this point had been the same. Nikita deeply scrutinized the man in the middle picture. The ears were different sizes and the eyes displayed heterochromia.

The skin was also on the darker side. With those things noted, the detective made his selection.

Elaine could only wonder if these faces that were used as the option were real people or not. She had never met any of them per se if they were. Still, it was clear that the entire thing was just getting more and more eerie and it was even more clear that there was some meaning to all of this, even if she didn't know what it was.

"Guess I gotta just pick one and hope I get it right."

Between the banging and the clear break from the initial rules, it was clear that this was all about to come to its end.

Wait, had that actually been a knock at the door? Or was her mind just playing tricks on her? This storyline is getting to her— and though Luka's been wrapped up in otome games before, they were never anything like this.

But she assumes she's just being silly and paranoid as she looks over her new options. None of them are as unsettling as the last round, thank the stars! And Luka remembers the last woman from the tea room— which is troubling in itself, though that seems more dark triad-y then megalopian...y.

She's starting to feel like a broken record but her thumb presses the same button regardless:

the room combusts into a frenzy of chatter and speculation. the fuel of their suspicions feed on the implicit accusations. those present reconsider what they know and the route infiltrates their mindset. all it takes is one little accusation to spur their imagination.

to aim their condemnation.

“c was the individual spotted during the team room incident. we also believe her to be behind the daycare that popped up last year.”

fernando’s voice commandeers the room into awkward silence. it lasts only a moment before the wildfire resumes.

“in ultra space, we found notes revealing the development of type:null. JAMES BAKER and i believe this refers to individual c.”

like a seesaw, the consensus wavers between walsh and cognita. everyone’s choice splits neatly into two camps.

“it has to be walsh! team rocket is harboring megalopolans as we speak.”

“type:null were engineered by the megalopolans!”

with little regard for any of their inputs, fernando proceeds with choice B. when his selection flashes from the projector, the room quiets except for one.

“do you really suspect creighton?”

“we have no hard inclination either way. however, creighton is the only one we have access to. we assume all three are megalopolans going forward.”

For all the rank she’d earned in such a short time in Rocket, Elisabeth Fiorelli lacked a great deal many experiences. This Velmos one illuminated a significant one for her in Hoenn quite clearly. So again, she committed to the same choice, lacking knowledge to guide her.[break][break]

The sharp bang from behind him is loud enough to hear through his headphones. To make him startle. That’s just coincidence, right? Em whirls around, but it looks like his two pawmi got into a scuffle enough to knock a paperweight off of his coffee table.[break][break]
