He feels like, all he has to do is step forward just a little and he’ll be lost forever. Once more, he has to tackle the fact that he doesn’t have a sygna suit. “This place really is a hole in space and time.” He heard his Pokemon can warp and change, here in this place. For now, he leaves them all in the ball. Some part of him thinks it would be cruel to change these creatures against their will. As much as he hates fighting without his Pokemon, he manages. Mint didn't even have to leave his apartment for this one. In the safety of the indoors, he hunkers down, a Lilligant out with him to keep watch. As the storm descended on the city, something shifted in his partner's form.

She fell to the ground, shaking as the storm battered the building and shook the windows. Slowly, the leaves retract revealing long spindly legs and she managed to get back up confused, but alright.

regardless, she jumps at the text angelo vestri had sent to both herself and Eva Morales. another opportunity to explore a distortion is never turned down by one illeana reyes, head scientist and space-time hunter... how could she back down from such a thing after she's tried her luck at all of them.

and that, my dear readers, is how she finds herself in the middle of the distortion.

the chaos whips her hair around but she merely surveys her surroundings with a keen eye. a smeargle stands tall beside her, more than content to spatial rend any aggressive pokemon that creep too close to the scientist.

and while it will fade soon, she commits the sensation of it all to memory. the chaotic atmosphere, the feeling of something else at play, the oddity of its appearance in lilycove once more... each domino lines up. when will they cascade in a line? when will the mastermind be revealed?

she takes notes up until the walls fall. and then, she texts Eva Morales and angelo vestri back to give them her notes. this time, nothing out of ordinary has occurred... yet, anyway. perhaps she will find more in the next... if there is a next, anyway.

Josh was on the way to Lilycove City to deliver important intelligence from Dewford to Ranger HQ there (he would have chosen Mauville, but annalise henderson was still out). While still in the lush rainforest between the Safari Zone and Lilycove, the familiar crackle of a Space-Time Distortion. The familiar flash of light of an Alpha Pokémon's appearance put Josh and Raikiri on guard. All they could hear was loud buzzing, and all they could see was a pair of red lights chaotically zipping around them with speed that was impossible for even the Master of Faster to follow.

The first two passes directly over him came with back-to-back X-SCISSORS that whiplashed Josh and his Zeraora back and forth. Even the electric-type's PLASMA FISTS were too slow to connect with the Alpha on the way back. There was only one Pokémon that fit the kind of speed and the types of attacks that were being used.

Ninjask.

Josh wasn't going to let this Pokémon get away, but he needed Pokémon that could see through the bug ninja's ruse. While he wasn't planning on deploying them in combat yet, he did have his two Dewott. "Toshiro and Fukimo! Follow that light and SOAK it!" Invisibly fast as it may have been, covered in a visible veil of water would make it possible for Raikiri to track. "Now--" Before Josh could even issue a command, the super fast Pokémon sliced through them both with another use of X-SCISSOR. Letting out loud war cries, both of them glowed with the bright light of EVOLUTION. They both evolved into Samurott, but Toshiro looked quite different. They were almost like white and black pieces on a chessboard.

Brandishing its CEASELESS EDGE, the single attack was enough to stop the Ninjask in its tracks. Josh wasn't letting this one get away; he hurled a Net Ball, normally reserved for water-types, at the Pokémon, drawing it in. As he rode toward the catch, he also scooped up a YELLOW SHARD he presumed the Pokémon was carrying. Retrieving his bug-type catch, Josh could not wait to get on its back.

That would take a long time, though; Ninjask were known for being testy and hard-headed with trainers. Alphas... even more so.

NOTE: This is a flavor capture for a Ninjask that will be acquired in the future.

Lilycove City had a space-time distortion nearby and the royal was more than ready to tackle it inside since she had stronger Pokemon to have them fight off the aggressive Pokemon there. As she goes inside the distorted dome, both Dracovish and Typhlosion would stand nearby to look for any Pokemon that might attack. Seeing the Pokemon warp in to attack, Ryoma would take the first while Zeisan takes the other. Their attacks help to distract them while the Galarian royal tries to find something valuable to take on the ground.[break][break]

While she goes to pick up a yellow shard from the ground and turns to see her two Pokemon return to her side, she notices her Typhlosion had changed her form and demonstrates having learned a newer move to fend another wild Pokemon off with Infernal Parade, the spheres of ghostly fire hold off one of the other wild Pokemon for the trio to go outside of the crackling dome to a safer place.

Belial happens to be attending a meeting in LILYCOVE CITY when reports of the SPACE-TIME DISTORTION come in. Never having experienced one himself, the mercenary captain suits up quickly before setting out. His sources had told him, more or less, what to expect... but he expected to be surprised.

Once he's in the thick of that electrifying storm, he summons SOCORRO the GROWLITHE and BEREGISO the TEDDIURSA to join him as his guardians. In the midst of his exploration, however, something unusual begins to happen. Socorro and Beregiso whine as the strange energy that fills this realm begins to change them completely.

In the end, the black sheep of Stone can't say he's disappointed with the metamorphosis of the two. Not only had Socorro and Beregiso evolved, but they had gained a powerful new forms as well. This newfound power would do well in their endeavors as mercenaries.

the universe really is about to end.

he had no need to be in this distortion. he's sure that the brave citizens of hoenn will already take care of the threat before their frenzied states get out of hand. his presence changes nothing from the outcome of this storm of weirdness.

this was the first time one had appeared after the liberation of palkia and dialga, and his theory concerning the relationship of the rift's effects on the body and distortions seemed to have some merit to it since the sygna suit he wore helps him stabilize himself inside the dome.

it's a theory he had forwarded to Eva Morales during their trip to the borders, which made kyle wonder if she had tested it herself. he'd ask her later when they bump to each other if he remembers.

he readies a satchel as he enters the time-space distortion. as of the moment, it's been the only reliable source of shards, and although the full extent of their use is unknown, they're still a resource.

dodging and weaving the dangers, priam makes his rounds on lilycove, gathering all shards that fall in front of him. picking every little piece of them and storing it in his bag, the act eventually becomes monotonous.

at this point, he's sick of it, but with rocket's greed of taking things just because they can even if they don't understand the effects of it, priam felt obligated to collect every foreign object.
