Prophecies in Permafrost

On January 4th, two prophets arrived. The truth they found must have driven them to destroy the world.[break][break]

“Long time no see, Sheriff.” With his Froslass’ Snow Cloak, Alba appears from the blizzard like a phantom. Froslass lurks beside him like a shadow, fading in and out of the raging snow.[break][break]

“You heard it, right? It knows the coming of all things. Care to guess what kind of future it’s trying to protect?” The devil-may-care tone he was affecting lost some of its impact when it was being undercut by the slight shiver in his voice. The scientist was trying to keep his teeth from chattering in spite of his big winter coat. To his side, Froslass launches a Shadow Ball at the titan trying to kill them all.

ZEKROM's growl intensifies as it puts all of its mental might into prying the UNBOUND HOOPA apart from WHITE KYUREM with its PSYCHIC power. Remiel buckles beneath the weight of this force, gritting his teeth in an attempt to withstand it. Unfortunately, the UNBOUND HOOPA proves to be too powerful.[break][break]

The BLACK YIN's power is turned against it dramatically, sending it flying backward before it is seized into sudden stillness. The UNBOUND HOOPA chuckles as wintery winds begin to torment the now helpless legendary. And, slowly, Remiel can feel it being drawn towards their monstrous enemy. "Break free, Zekrom! Move!"[break][break]

When it becomes clear that simply breaking free isn't an option, however, Remiel leaps off and returns ZEKROM to its custom ball. With the BLACK YIN freed from the clutches of UNBOUND HOOPA, the crown prince freefalls towards the earth below before summoning a black CHARIZARD to carry him back upward. It's then that they hear the DRAGON CHEER of Eva Morales and her RAYQUAZA.[break][break]

Inspired by this song, Turandot reaches the line of sight with the WHITE KYUREM before unleashing a fiery INFERNO to try and lessen the icy storm surrounding it.[break][break]

Some weeks ago, Josh had received an innocuous report from Rustboro Captain Shalin Nariya that there was a narked increase in wild Pokémon aggression in the Silent Icelands - the frigid graveyard of hundreds of Pokémon. A graveyard three of his closest Pokémon narrowly avoided. He thought nothing of it until a five-alarm fire from Oldale blared loudly while he was in the area. He had received an emergency message from Ranger HQ. It was an all-hands-on-deck situation for tenured Rangers.

Warned to bring an army, he did. Not one, not two, but ten saddled Pyroar. Five males and five females. Kion, the fastest Pyroar on Josh's team, led the way toward the titanic monster he had been warned about. It would have been difficult for people who knew him to miss the stampede of lions coming in as reinforcements, particularly for people present who knew him well. Navy , Remiel Calcifet , Elinor Anderson , Andrea Vaneau , and more may have recognized them.

When the giant silhouette became clearly visible, Josh's heart started beating hard and fast. It was KYUREM. The same one that he and Laurence Anderson narrowly avoided death from. He wanted to run. He had little choice, though; running from such a threat would be considered dereliction of duty. The SYGNA SUITED rider bravely spurred Kion onward toward the freezing dragon, the lion letting out a NOBLE ROAR. Josh himself took his hand off the reins briefly to thrust it toward the legendary dragon, hurling an INCINERATING fireball toward it in the style of a popular fictional plumber.

At the same time, the WHITE KYUREM slams its claws onto the frozen earth. Nails like dragon fangs force the ground into a quake. A violent fissure spreads across the whole field, dividing those in the left and those in the right.[break][break]

Pokemon frozen by Kyurem's storm still possess life. Though their icy prisons encase them in numbing perpetuity, it protects them too, as the earth groans beneath your feet.[break][break]

The DRAGON CHEER’s crescendo came to an end. It faded into a roar of a uniting Hoenn. The people fight back, forcing a change of the tide upon the invading monster. Rayquaza’s leathery lips pull up, exposing what can only be described as a smile. They watch the White Kyurem tremble under the grip of the Unbound Hoopa. The dragon clicks an approving encouragement to Remiel Calcifet and their patron. They can see the monster’s frustration. Their hope to conquer was obscured by a people more powerful than they anticipated.

Beneath Eva, Rayquaza’s deep voice echoes across the battlefield in the elegant tongue gifted by their creation:

The matriarch shall greets fate’s end for her people

Who is the matriarch?

The rest of it can be interpreted without much contemplation.

Eva shouted on the roar of her patron. The dragon crystalizes and takes on a brilliant metallic sheen. With the Kyruem bound, now is the time to strike. The dragon lunges forward, their tail arching to strike the Kyruem with an IRON TAIL.

Far too enraged to be kept at bay, ZEKROM has broken out of its ball and charged towards the UNBOUND HOOPA with a thunderous roar. The STRANGE AFFLICTION plaguing it seems to have intensified, manifesting as veins of green plasma throughout its body that ultimately pool at its large tail. Only a few people, such as the likes of jayden cross during training sessions some time ago, had seen the BLACK YIN in such a state.[break][break]

For the rest of HOENN, the sight was likely a smidge more monstrous than one might be comfortable with. It glares at the UNBOUND HOOPA with a pure and unbridled fury that can only mean one thing: the desire for violence.[break][break]

It is only the prince who notices the curious (and almost inviting) look in their adversary's eyes. "ZEKROM! WAIT!" Remiel urges his patron, kicking his heels into the side of his Charizard to urge her upwards. But, by then, the trap springs.[break][break]

In but a moment, the BLACK YIN is soon surrounded by several HOOPA RINGS and forced to fight off the otherworldly hands that emerge from their mysterious depths with a BREAKING SWIPE. Closing in upon Turandot, but not quite there yet, Remiel hastily activates his earpiece. "Mayday! Mayday! ZEKROM is at risk of abduction! Assistance is needed! Freya, Eva— ANYONE. There are too many hands!"[break][break]

Was this where their new IDEALS had gotten them? Was this how ZEKROM would meet its end?[break][break]

As Hoenn got a heroic second wind courtesy of Rayquaza, reinforcements soon arrived. A whole pride of them, to be precise. "It's Josh Devlin!" Andrea beamed with joy, instantly recognizing the Master of Faster and his prized Pyroar.

The prophecy was finally revealed: The matriarch shall greet fate's end for her people. Who was the matriarch? Two images flashed in Andrea's mind. One was of the mysterious white-haired lady. The other was of dahlia goode. Neither of them had children (as far as she knew), but they both possessed a maternal aura. It was nothing but a hunch, of course.

Kyurem stomped its massive feet in frustration, causing the ground to violently vibrate and the earth to split apart. The draconic trainer quickly jumped on her Dragonite's back in order to avoid falling into the deep chasm. "Phew, that was close!"

While on dragonback, she followed freya morningstar's lead. She did not know the councilwoman personally, but she respected a fellow Salamence enjoyer. Remiel Calcifet and his patron were in trouble, the Galarian prince requesting help from anyone willing. Help was on its way.

"We're on it! Those things look like they could use a hug! FOR HOENN!!" The young PokéManiac let out a fierce battle cry, while her Dragonite Wrapped its arms around one of Hoopa's floating limbs, attempting to stop them from reaching Zekrom.

Through the veil of the blizzard, Oscar could see the yellow form of Robbie freezing solid and falling to the ground. He let out a long string of air between his teeth, disappointment dampening his spirit. Around this time, the full prophecy would be revealed by the legendary figures. It was not the time to interpret cryptic messages from wannabe gods though; these two needed to be pushed back before they did anymore damage to Hoenn.

The battle escalated from there, with Kyurem slamming the earth with enough force to create a small fissure. Truth be told, Oscar was a little spooked by the shaking of the ground. He briefly wondered if he should just run and let everyone else figure this out. That was, until he realized that everyone was pushing forward regardless. The display of courage from Rocket and League alike ignited his fighting spirit. There would be no running today, not when the region was on the line.

Oscar pushed forward to join his fellow Rockets, just in time to overhear mint frost prompting the idea of Necrozma draining Kyurem. Oscar added his uninvited input as he pulled a pokeball from his belt, "Careful if you try that Zev. Kyurem is an unknown threat. It is clearly capable of absorbing other pokemon, don't get absorbed as well."

Oscar opened his pokeball, revealing the metallic form of Genesect Prime. "But hey if we hit it hard enough maybe it'll fuckin' work. Kick its shit in Prime!"

Prime let out an electronic scream as it charged its cannon, its body rattling as energy built up at the tip of its barrel. When it could charge no more, Genesect unleashed its gathered energy as a brilliant beam aimed for Kyurem (Techno Blast).

Initially he hesitates, but gives in. They're right. If they can put in the work, they'll surely succeed. Like before, freya morningstar's words are a boon to his drive. Navy just applies the foundation to rely on and Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki is a cheerleader. They all enhance his mood with encouragement, but he returns no words. Action is what they need.

"Balmung!" He orders his charizard back to his side. In spite of the wicked snowstorm and the nevermelt-ice attack, the dragon manages to return mostly unscathed.

Like an echoing voice from inside his mind, Roy absorbs the message relayed from Eva Morales's legendary beast. He doesn't understand it all, but he can make out parts of it. It sounds familiar; like a story his grandmother once told him.

Upon freya morningstar's command, Roy mounts Balmung and prepares to play support. The charizard feels enhanced from the tailwind.

"I've got your back."

But, even for a fire-type, the cold was overwhelming. An ice attack washes over Onji - and in a flash, the Delphox is frozen still.

The sight alarms Makoto. Their initial thought is to recall him and switch him out - but... When something about the ice blocks the attempt, a chill runs down their spine. Is he going to be okay? Is he even still alive..? "O-Onji..?"

Kyurem's bellows and Hoopa's booming decrees remind them that they can't remain still, however - and as if understanding this, Tsukiko soon comes back out. The fox casts a saddened glance towards her frozen ally - but turns her attention back to the situation at hand...

... At least, until another roar - that of the thunderous Zekrom - draws their attention. The Black Yin is under attack by rings and hands that seem to resemble that of Hoopa's, and is having to fight off more and more of them. Though Makoto cannot hear Remiel Calcifet 's communications, they can still plainly see as Zekrom is essentially cornered, and as Andrea Vaneau 's Dragonite comes in to try and help.

They have a feeling that if those hands succeed at snatching Zekrom, that something very bad will happen - and yet, it is a League Legendary. Will they come under fire, if they attempt to aid it...?

Thus, murmuring into their comms, they question Amor Rose "Zekrom is under attack... Should I help it, or focus on Kyurem..?"

With his approval though, they'd turn their attention to the electric-type. With one hand, they'd hold forth their Tera Orb, and with the other they'd point to the attacking hands. "Springtide Storm..!"

Terastallizing into Fairy, Tsukiko would take on a pink crystalline hue. Using the added strength offered by such, she'd let loose a whirlwind of pink petals at the attacking hands - looking to protect Zekrom...!

TLDR:
- Onji is frozen, which spooks Makoto a bit
- Tsukiko comes out, ready to fite
- When Zekrom falls under attack, Makoto briefly consults Amor Rose
- They decide to aid Zekrom + Remiel Calcifet by terastallizing Tsukiko into fairy and having her use Springtide Storm
