Swarms of Iron Moths were around the air and if they were able to go free outside of the containment of Area Zero and the Giant Chasm, it would be really dangerous for the people of Hoenn. It was why Elise had taken a good Pokemon for the job of killing them before the problem got worse. An Iron Moth comes to stop the ranger cadet from doing any harm on its other cohorts.[break][break]

Her late mother’s Mismagius comes to the rescue as Touka sends a powerful array of Power Gems to shred the Iron Moth to pieces. The destructive power of the Mismagius’ attack sends parts of the cleaved Iron Moth down to the ground while Paradox Pokemon fluid rains down onto the ambassador in her dark blue ranger uniform and onto the body of the floating witch-like ghost. [break][break]

Ugh, they better get a bath later. At least, Elise had a small research subject to do when noting if any of her other Paradox Pokemon had that same fluid from their bodies.

Arcs of electricity filled the air like grasping fingers. Crackles of thunder and lightning danced between mechanical moths. Tendrils of light caused alien machines to short out. The mechanical thrum died, leaving only the buzz of thunder and hunks of metal crashing to the ground, unmoving.

When the Toxtricity stopped thrumming its guitar, Preston was surrounded by a slew of defeated Pokémon.

"Easy." Preston puffed his cigarette and kicked it to the stone below. "That wasn't so easy before."

The chef began trekking out of the Giant Chasm, weary of his adventures with Mitsuru Kagami and Amor Rose. As he reached for the light of the Icelands above, the chef came to a realization.

"Guess I'm gettin' stronger, eh?"

The mounting pressure of trying to mitigate the toxic chains that swept through the region was ever present, and ever growing with each new occurrence. Not only was the influence spreading like a wild fire that was impossible to stop, but the power in which the toxic chains were over taking humans and Pokemon seemed to be growing... Changing...[break][break]
Swarming up from the depths of the Great Chasm, mechanical moths threatened the surrounding areas, and while the swarm itself was already concerning, it just proved that the chains were becoming all consuming. Steel type Pokemon, enraging poison types, enslaving civilians, overtaking Ultra Beasts, and now they had seeped into the furthest depths of the great chasm... And took over Pokemon that shouldn't even be a full form drawn from inter dream mists... How permeating was the power of the toxic chain really?[break][break]
Yuina moved through the chasm's depths with Higumei lumbering forward, raising his great paws and stomping into the ground. His Earth Power struck an oncoming rush of Iron Moths back into the depths, but only for so long. There were dozens of them, and there was no telling how long the aerial assaults would last as Yuina shielded herself from a rain of fire coming down from above.

Mary snorted, the Dubwool pawing at the ground briefly. These Iron Moths were causing trouble aplenty - but for his ~~herd~~ pack, he wouldn't back down easy! This was what a sheep in wolf's clothing could do!

With a Guard Split, he would weaken the Paradoxes, by averaging his lower special defenses with their higher ones - protecting himself better in turn. Which more than happily opened the way for others, such as Haru or Astus, to clean up the rest!

The plague of IRON MOTHS wasn't uncommon. Swarms of paradoxes were known to be a risk inside the Great Chasm. The toxic chains present here made it obvious this was a new hoenn epidemic. And despite avoiding infection, he also felt sick as he reported to the swarm site and fought back the metal moths. His Riolu counters easily, punching away the strange creatures. They go until some weird orange fluid splatters over the pokemons face and he calls it a day, eager to get away from the nausea.

Rafael remained focused on the brilliance of the teracrystal cluster he was examining as another Iron Moth hovered in on those strange wings. Instead of turning, he simply raised his hand and gestured to his Archeops.[break][break]

The large pokemon spread her wings wide, evoking ancient power that erupted from the ground below to slam into the Iron Moth. The same power swirled around the Archeops, boosting her power or defenses. She shrugged off the heat of the Iron Moth's fiery dance as she rushed forward, crushing it with a wing attack.

"Hmm, even the paradox pokemon are afflicted with those toxic chains. Interesting," he mused allowed, sparing a brief glance at the crumbled Iron Moth before his pokemon began tearing pieces of it apart with the sound of rending steel.

Mr. Roche pinched the bridge of his nose, irritated. He had heard of the recent appearance of a Giant Chasm in Hoenn, as though such a thing were perfectly commonplace, not long before his own arrival to the region. When his schedule had allowed for a few free hours, he'd made his way to the site in order to determine what - if anything - could be perceived of value in the area.

Instead he'd been faced with a swarm of robotic Volcarona, which - while valuable to to someone, perhaps - held little interest to him beyond being a hindrance to his progression. He really did have the worst timing.

Tossing a pokeball, he released Bullion, who responded to the Iron Moth advancing upon him with a shower of golden coins that battered and dented the moth's metal body, battering it to the ground.

Colin regarded the fallen pokemon with a sniff, stepping around it gingerly. This was turning out to be perhaps more effort than it was worth.

A swarm Pokémons coming from some other dimension would usually be an intriguing sight that would have Thea sparkle-eyed and gushing all over it. Unfortunately, when it came to enraged ones affected by the Toxic Chains, she couldn't be as excited about it.[break][break]

Thea found a hard time to actually get into the battlefield, and as soon as she did, her eyes locked on a lady shielding herself against the flames, fierce consequences of the battle. The Ursaluna she had was powerful, being able to take down many of the Iron Moths at once... But like it was expected of a swarm: one falls, two rise.[break][break]

Determined, Thea approached the elite ranger to assist her— "Hey ma'am, I hope you feel okay with a small team up!" Thea excused herself, thrusting her hand forward as she called for her Wigglytuff and her Primeape. "Gominha! Zeus! Bring these Moths to the ground and knock them off to cover us!"[break][break]

Gominha squeaked to Zeus, that nodded before they charged in. Gominha inflated, going high to the sky before letting the air out and allowing her weight and gravity to Disable the Iron Moth she landed on, forcing it all the way to the ground before Zeus rose his foot, sending it down in a Stomping Tantrum. The fainted paradox pokémon tilted to the side, with a strange fluid slipping from its wing, wounded by the strikes and the Toxic Chains. "... So it was really the Toxic Chains again..." She muttered.[break][break]

Before she could process her own words, a shower of Acid Spray came from a couple Iron Moths that had surpassed their cover. Thea tried to shield herself, gritting her teeth as the burning smell invaded her nostrils. "Ugh... Lady, are you okay?!" She asked. But the ranger probably was, she looked fairly experienced compared to her. "... Hammy, Belle, get the Iron Moths that are avoiding the cover!"[break][break]

The Pawmo charged ahead, leaping and going for a Low Sweep, attempting to spin the Iron Moths midair and slow their flight down for the Minccino to engage with her soothing voice in a Sing, forcing some of the Iron Moths asleep. This is going to be a tough battle![break][break]

The Great Chasm echoed with the relentless flutter of Iron Moths, a futuristic menace with solar panels adorned in toxic chains. Their Acid Spray showered innocent bystanders, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. It seemed as though no force could halt their rampage until Roy stepped into the fray.

"You know what to do," Roy's voice carried an obvious hint of determination as he unleashed Balmung into the chaos.

Balmung surged forward with the blazing intensity of Flare Blitz, aiming to shatter the Iron Moths' defenses. Yet, their unique fire-typing rendered the attack almost futile as they shrugged off the blow, retaliating with a vicious barrage of purple ooze. The venomous assault left Balmung poisoned, but this didn't stop him.

With a roar of defiance, Balmung unleashed an Outrage, channeling his fury into devastating blows that cleaved through the Iron Moth horde. As their numbers dwindled, other trainers in the distance joined the battle.
