Another swarm of Pokemon ripe for the catching. Held up inside Rusturf Tunnel, the Sableye were particularly hard to nail. Exactly what he expected from such a trickster of a Pokemon. They were greedy little shades, desperate to tease and torment.

Hopefully, they'd show themselves soon.

Another late night at Devon labs gave Dr. Gioco a chance to be given private escort home by the League's newest Head Ranger; Sénon Game. Usually against such being shown such favor the good doctor couldn't pass up the chance to spend a moment with her baby boy.

Dropping his mother off at home and surviving the doting she gave him for making a life for himself in Hoenn despite what they had to leave behind in Kanto, Sénon finally headed home himself; back to Cait.

Just outside the boundaries of Rustboro the ranger caught the shimmering eyes of what could only be Sableye moving en masse, some towards the town.

Having lost his last Sableye to that nightmare of a pokémon Sénon would deal with this heard just the same as any other with the extra work of just keeping an eye out for the opportunity to claim one of them as his own.

He was able to make out a golden sableye among the purple horde. Catching that one would make for a fantastic moment and new pokémon companion.

Still, as far as fantastic moments and pokémon went Ranger Game was still waiting for the discovery of a winged line of Ponyta and Rapidash.

Had to happen sometime right?

Locating the swarm of Sableye wasn’t particularly difficult, assuming that these little gem-hungry chupacabras would be looking for their next meal in the Rusturf Tunnel. Rowan reached towards one of the Pokeballs on his belt and brought out his Slowbro, pointing towards one of the stragglers to get the attention of his Pokémon. “Argos, make sure that one doesn’t go anywhere.”

Argos lifted his arms, extending Psychic energies towards one of the slower ones, lifting them up into the air helplessly with the power. Rowan watched as the Sableye released their grip on the Carbink they’d kidnapped, flailing violently in the air in an attempt to escape this psychic hold. “Alright, just keep them still now, Argos.” Grabbing an empty Pokeball, Rowan launched it forward, looking to capture the petulant gremlin.

He's always been invested in urban legends, creatures that don't quite fit in with man or pokemons that have been discovered - Big Foot, serpant-like dragons, the guardians of the four cardinal directions. Perhaps, the reported sightings were merely people confusing legendaries for unknown beasts. Moltres could easily be mistaken for the Phoenix of the South, a few mischievous Lapras in misty grounds could be Nessie… He's not one to fully dismiss the idea of cryptids but he isn't one to jump on the bandwagon of believers just yet.

Rusturf Tunnel is one such location of passing rumours, haunted by ghouls and goatmans or so the locals say. However, he's greeted by the sight of a lunar glint, droves of Sableyes scampering through the forest as the trees quiver under their stampede.

"Can't exactly be disappointed if you didn't have any expectations, I guess." Reaching into his pockets, Ryuu only offers Skadi a pat for awakening her from her slumber - Part of him knows that the branch they're seated upon would have woken her anyways. His aim is sloppy but he isn't particularly anxious about catching one for his team. "Let's just see if we get lucky today."

Fuck Sableye.

These mother fuckers creeped Oscar the fuck out, and now something has them all wound up and shoving their ghost dicks into everything. Oscar thought he could avoid the swarm altogether by catching the first bus out of Rustboro. He felt pretty secure as the bus took off, with nary a ghost goblin is sight. As the bus left the station, Oscar looked out the window with contentment. Guess what he fucking saw.

A god damn fucking sableye was booking it beside the bus. Damn wiggly bastard jumped onto the bus's side and began to nibble into its side. Oscar shook his head, this ain't happening on his watch! He opened his window, and threw a pokeball at the little fucker to stop it in its tracks.

she'll find herself in the midst of their pack, wrestling one to the ground in an attempt to pry a poor carbink from its mouth. while the carbink squeaks and squeals, she snarls with a tenacity unbecoming of illeana reyes. the silph scientist has officially gotten down and dirty, leaves tangling into blonde hair and dirt smearing across faintly scarred cheeks.

Why the fuck was Alexei here in the first place?!

He was headed towards Verdanturf, but instead of flying there (as he does) he decided to walk there instead.

Only, walking there was a big mistake because holy fucking shit why was there a spectral, magnified cackling noise coming from the route in front of him?!

Groaning, he looked around and hoped he wasn’t going to run into anything that resembled a Ghost-type other than the one—two he wasn’t afraid of.

His mind had temporarily gone blank, as if harkening back to the time that he’d almost drowned and thought the fucking Kraken was real…

Apparently.

Chu-e hated ghost types and he hated dealing with them. What he did like, though, were Carbink. The poor little fairy types were preyed upon quite regularly by the nasty goblins. It made them hard to find and hard to get your hands on- a very sad fact in his opinion.

It was only by chance he was in the area when all the creeps poured out and into the general area. He was keep to ignore it, mostly, until he saw one skitter by with a very distressed looking Carbink clutched in it's jaws.

"Hey!" Chu-e was too slow to keep up but he flung the first thing he could get his hand on- a pokeball. Even if he missed he hoped to startle the stupid Sabeleye enough to make it drop the fairy rock pokemon.

These swarms of Pokemon sure liked popping out in the middle of the night. In areas Hideo just happened to be at the time.

Hideo wasn’t the first one here, so he could overhear people talk about what Pokemon were running about this time; Sableyes. He already knew what he was gonna call the first one he got: Goblin. Made sense with how much they loved gemstones, whether they found them or stole them.

“Sleepy, mind grabbing one for me?” Hideo asked of his Dedenne, the little rat awoken from her slumber. She nodded - not that Hideo could tell - and ran off to find the nearest Sableye. She’d go and Play Rough with them until they were sufficiently subdued, then try to drag it over to her trainer so he’d have an easy catch.

After that?

She’d get some more sleep.

Sometimes the only thing that will deter a hungry gremlin that lurks and melds seamlessly into the dark, is the presence of an even more frightening, creepy son of a bitch. [break][break]

A Sableye hunts through the shadows, searching for mischief or tasty minerals it can pilfer from the unlucky few who stumble out of the tunnel, thinking their Zubat misery is behind them. [break][break]

Stepping into the moonlight on unsteady feet, Angelo is one of those few. His visit to see a certain Stormy Silph having gone on longer than a simple collection of an accidental trade; a swapping of pokemon easily turning into a conversation, that then ended up in getting some food and more-than-some drinks. Until suddenly it was past midnight. [break][break]

But before the stalking ghost can strike, hollow, piercing eyes settle upon it through the gloom. MIND READER slicing through even the darkest of nights and locking onto the sneakiest of Sableye. [break][break]

There is no escape. [break][break]

A SHADOW CLAW erupts from beneath the gem encrusted creature the moment it attempts to scuttle towards the oblivious courier, sharp wispy talons squeezing the creature tight enough to elicit a blood curling screech as it gnashes and slashes its claws in its struggle. [break][break]

Shedinja floats closer to observe its prey, unblinking and unbreathing, as the other ghost squirms beneath the glow of its corrupted halo. Wings casting a shadow not unlike a fallen or a looming mothman-like creature. [break][break]

After their time apart, perhaps Angelo would appreciate its catch. [break][break]

Honestly if something strange wasn't going down then that was a cause of alarm in Serena's books. Titania was her walking partner this time. They were on their way back from completing a mission for Rocket.

That's when they ran into the swarm of Sableye fleeing Rusturf Tunnel like they had committed some sort of crime. Perhaps they had, she didn't know. Some of them had Carbink in their mouths as they made a dash for the wilderness. Still, an opportunity was an opportunity and she couldn't pass of a chance to catch one of these bad boys or maybe even possibly secure a Carbink as well.

"Titania, go cause a distraction or something" Serena ordered, a glint in her eye as she followed the sound of the retreating Sableye's. Music to her ears, like a siren call, she was captivated and ready. Maybe this time the odds would be in her favor and she would manage to secure one of these guys for herself. Walking off in the opposite direction of where she sent Titania she tossed a pokeball to the stragglers, a wicked smirk playing on her lips as she did so.

Captain Dross was an expert at ignoring warning signs. If a neon sign bearing the words 'beware all who enter here' glared down at her, she'd take it as a slight to her pride and proceed to do what she'd been warned against. Limits, just like horizons, were made to be broken and built anew.

So when moonlight trickled down to thin slices that scarcely made it past the increasingly thick canopy above, Skyler barely noticed it. And when shadows materialized into creatures with jeweled eyes and ravenous grins, they were met with a furious red glare.

Perhaps Skyler might have made it to her destination - marked neatly in the map she'd won in a game of chance along with a bottle of rum - if not for the fact that five minutes in she was utterly and hopelessly lost.

While the captain tried to make sense of the map, Pollux was doing his best to keep away monsters that went bump in the night. A snarl ripped its way out of his throat when one Sableye got too close, aggression lining every tense muscle of his lithe body.

A blast of Moonlight sent the grinning gremlin flying, though another soon took its place - holding a familiar red and white orb in its hands and cackling madly. Perhaps thinking that it would unleash another pokemon, the Sableye pressed the button in the middle - and was swiftly engulfed by a flash of red, disappearing into the pokeball before the stupefied eyes of both Umbreon and his trainer.

The swarm of ghost-types was getting too close for comfort to the city below, and Locke was among those who’d volunteered to sending them packing. They nodded to Lumi-Lumi, who released her Sweet Scent onto the pack of Sableye. The Illumise’s fragrant aroma easily brought the swarm’s attention to her. With a hundred ruby eyes on the lightning bug, she blew a kiss out to her new admirers as she Charmed them. The double whammy worked instantly, and Locke gave a sigh of relief as the light of Lumi-Lumi’s bulb led the crowd back into the woods like a will-o-the-wisp.
