Excavator's Expedition!

As everyone began to rappel down, it seemed as though fortune wanted to play a small prank on the expeditionary force, while most people had managed to get down with relative safety, slight distress here or there, whilst boruta maher had most certainly been an experienced ranger, sometimes all it took was one little mistake, one bad day, and things could simply go wrong. In his confidence—or perhaps tire or being slightly out of it due to old Bazza's exuberance earlier—it seemed as though his carabiner had been slightly misadjusted, without a partner or Cat's Perrserker to double check.[break][break]
Whilst boruta maher had managed to slowly rappel down without harm, seeming to be able to descend, it was when angelo vestri had flown down on his Aerodactyl, the gale winds of its force and weight descending down knocking around boruta maher, DEREK HOFFMAN, Georgette Bluebottle and bryan delarosa. Whilst the latter three managed to stay relatively safe due to the ropework and proper connecting of their quickdraws, Boruta had fell, and fast, whether he screamed or remained silent, Cat had noticed it and despite dangers, was about to rush to at least break the ranger's fall.[break][break]
Yet, the fall hadn't been too great, a couple metres (a little less than 10ft~) and another individual at the bottom had seemed to be quick-witted enough to catch the ranger in his fall, paxton concordas! Cat breathed a sigh of relief as it seemed no harm was done! More daring onlookers and Björn peering over the edge to see what the commotion was about from above.[break][break]
"Mister Angelo! Mister Maher! I know it's super exciting but safety first! Please make sure to follow instructions and get double checked next time!" the young Galarian had pouted, she'd have reprimanded a little further if it wasn't for the fact that no harm was made in the end.[break][break]
Beyond this, the climb down into the cavern from the surface went through rather smoothly. A good mixture of professionals and first-timers, confident cheering from the pink-haired little instructor to help ease the more nervous first-timers down, and with little time beyond that, their little spelunking adventure began!
THE COLD AND A STRANGE TAIL
As people started digging, the glittering cave making it practically as though each step would unearth something new, the murmur of people and pokémon, the crumbling stone and the clanging of tools, excited exclamations when people began finding something beyond the small clear glassy stones that seemed to be everywhere in the cavern. It was Matilda Greenlaw who'd felt a strange chill off in a direction. A small group had quickly formed with Matilda Greenlaw, Martín del Mar and DEREK HOFFMAN, the latter two seeming to notice that Miss Greenlaw had found something... odd.[break][break]
Surely breaking away for just a couple minutes couldn't hurt? Following a small opening in the wall as curiosity seemed to get the better of you three, the first thing you'd noticed was just how much colder the cavern got the deeper you went in this direction, to the point that you could see your breath fogging, and frost seemed to start forming on your eyelashes! Yet your bravery seemed to award you just a little! Travelling deeper, footfalls returned not the sound of boots on stone, but the crunch of snow underfoot, the cavern opening out to a small pocket, seeming to be lined by a variety of holes where pokémon live, the other side of the hollow blocked off by a flowing river.

As you take in the view, you notice a matching trio of Snorunt waddle up curiously to the three of you, looking at you curiously, as if they'd never seen people before! They circle around you, seeming to want to see the three of you from every angle, before hurrying back away into their little home. Shortly after, they'd come rushing out, something glimmering in their hands! Though with their height differences, the three Snorunt seem to have a little bit of difficulty trying to hand you their little souvenirs! Nonetheless, as you go to accept, you realise that these glimmering objects are ICE STONES![break][break]
Though, after a few minutes, you hear a low, grumbly meow from behind, it seemed the Instructor Perrserker, Björn, had noticed the three of you go missing and went to find you! The old cat motions for the three of you to follow him back to the rest of the group, the small trio of Snorunts waving you good bye![break][break]
As the trio led by Björn make their way back, they're greeted by the sight of everyone else continuing on their little escapades! Some still happily digging, others taking a small break for food, water or just to rest or chat, and others admiring whatever prizes they'd found! Georgette Bluebottle seems to notice the group, though just behind them, she'd seemed to notice a strange... fluffy brown & cream tail disappear around a bend.[break][break]
While the trio were off in their own little adventure, with Björn following closely behind, @cat had been overseeing the rest of the expedition, patrolling the area to see if anyone needed help, and happily properly greeting those she knew—Cillian Quinn, Tempest Quinn and angelo vestri—in particular apologising to the pilot about having to tell him off, "but nonetheless, we don't want anyone getting hurt!" she'd gently chided but nonetheless wished him good luck in his end of the excavations. While happily greeting the gym leader she'd first challenged, and Mister Tom, whom she'd been happy to see especially, glad to see that the archaeologist could make it on their fun little dig![break][break]
As she'd made her rounds, the young Galarian girl had taken the opportunity to properly introduce herself to the faces she was less familiar with, in particular seeming a little more relaxed and excitable around those her own age.
UH OH, SISTERS
Yet once again, it seemed fortune just happened to hate boruta maher at this very moment. As the ranger went to take a stab at a unique looking part of the wall of the cavern, he most certainly found something, finding a good collection of the peculiar glassy spheres for himself... yet, he'd certainly found something else, something that may have made the poor ranger regret his curiosity. As he dug into the wall, a loud echo had struck, catching the attention of EVERYONE within the cave to his location. As stone from the wall began to crumble and fall... a deep expanse of darkness was revealed behind it, and the ground itself seemed to RUMBLE.[break][break]
Hot breath and an annoyed growl pressed against the ranger's face as he found himself face to face with a Steelix, one that hadn't been too pleased with having its sleep disturbed.[break][break]
"Move! Everyone over that way, follow Björn!" Cat had shouted, rushing to the ranger and tugging at him to persuade him to follow the rest of the group as the Perrserker meowled loudly, waving for people to follow him deeper into the cavern, there wasn't much chance they'd be able to all escape by climbing back out, so making distance was of utmost importance. Of course, most if not all of the folks who were in this expedition force were Pokémon Trainers, and whilst running was of course important, the problem would need to be dealt with somehow, and quickly.[break][break]
Yet as if to add to all their problems, it hadn't been merely a single Steelix, but a large HORDE of them that seemed to come out from the tunnel, prideful roars echoing out as they seemed to refuse to concede their territory to the intruders! But that hadn't been the worst of it, it was Nia Acadia who'd spotted a group of Gible, Gabite and Garchomp seizing the opportunity, taking advantage of the chaos to attack the Expedition too! Whether they also hadn't appreciated the group encroaching in their territory or wanted to steal the group's food, it was difficult to tell, but the problems they caused had most certainly added to the sheer chaos! A Gabite in particular had attempted to jump Hideo Kino, only to be intercepted by the Instructor Perrserker with an IRON HEAD![break][break]

Remi wasn't a breakfast person, but for the sake of appeasing the intimidating Mama Joey and Stevey, she cracked open her protein breakfast bar and washed it down with a half bottle of water.
