Ceri Glynn's curry entry

Thread Summary:
In which Ceri enlisted Isaac Merlo to be her guinea pig assistant when studying a hive of particularly cantankerous Combee and may or may have not put his wellbeing at risk in the process. She would claim he was always perfectly safe and that there was never any real risk. But, was he really?!

Why is it important?:
This was the first thread I ever wrote with Wanderer and it was a joy! I'm always a big fan of threads where I can showcase Ceri's love for science and how that often goes above all else, but Isaac is a really fun character to thread with and I'm a big fan of their dynamic.

For how outgoing and friendly Ceri is, the fact of the matter is that she often doesn't have much regard for other people, and that really shows in her willingness to put Isaac in harm's way for the sake of getting some footage of the Combee. Of course, she does intervene and deal with the Combee before they can cause any real harm, but does she feel any guilt? Not really.

TENSION

luka's curry entry

thread summary: after a hoard of ditto escape illeana's lab, she finds assistance in the last person she wants to see. shenanigans ensue.

why is it important?: this thread ties together a few slice of life plotlines with luka, Remiel Calcifet and illeana reyes. and personally, i enjoy tension like this between characters! illeana has extremely valid reasons for being uncomfortable with luka and i like playing in that space, especially since i get to play up luka's desperate need to be liked and her frustration at not knowing what the problem is. neither women is doing anything wrong, but there's an unavoidable conflict and tension between them. it's juicy! and it's all remiel's fault!!!

at the end of the day, we realize that the true enemy is men...

Penelope and Greyson are out on a cute little date at the museum. Lotta emotions, heart break, hopes shattering ya know the deal. Penny denies greyson here, choosing her work over a possible relationships. 

why is it important: Greyson sucks, but the thread was neat. Explored a lot about their characters and their future dynamic as friends.

thread summary: jayden and parker jones follow up on the payment of someone who owes rocket money. this is jayden's first time meeting them, but parker has worked with them before and briefs jayden on the mission details. while parker has no issues roughing them up a little, jayden takes things to an entirely different level.

why is it important?:

this is one of many threads that set up the building blocks for jayden's arc training newer recruits, but why i like this thread in particular is because it's able to showcase his cruelty as a former beast. as a character, jayden is often perceived as non-threatening or lax by the nature of his personality. after all, it's not like he ordinarily makes a big impact — and that's the point of his character.

[break][break] however, he was made beast for a reason at one point and this thread showcases that very well. jayden was raised in kanto rocket and as such has an element of cruelty that is not often expressed in his other threads. jayden challenges the npc on whether they are loyalty to rocket or themselves, going so far as to break his thumb even though he's been roughed up plenty. it's clear that jayden would not hesitate in following through if the man misses a payment an additional time, while parker - who has the bolder personality and likes fighting - seems more hesitant.

[break][break] this is the first time i've been able to rp with crow, and she's a WONDERFUL rper. i've admired her for a long time and i am so happy that we were able to thread together! her writing is phenomenal and her characterization of both parker and jayden is just so perfect. i'm looking forward to many more threads together as we establish a better relationship with parker and jayden.
