In the drink again. Yeah, he expected that outcome. The blonde would drag himself back onto Mantine with his dignity far from intact. Well, that was the nature of Mantine surfing, after all. And he had prepared himself for that one. Mentally, anyway. Mostly. Likely not prepared enough. But that was the breaks. The question was, where did he go from here? Perhaps he should go for something easier, like the Huntail Spin? Or go for broke and do the Magikarp Splash again?

He took a deep breath and went for the Huntail Spin. His pride didn't like it, but he needed the confidence booster.

Shalin had been three for three so far on tricks, but she was starting to get up to the truly difficult ones. The next one she had her eyes on was the STARMIE 720. This would have made many other riders sick trying to attempt it, but not her! While Starmie weren't too uncommonly used as Pokémon to pull tethered trainers across the sea, it took a special kind of brave soul to ride a Starmie directly. She had experience doing precisely that, and it would come in handy here! She begun with the form for a Lanturn 360 but kept rolling beyond that. bracing herself for the Rapid Spin-like motion needed to pull this off!

That was all he needed in the end, right? Momentum. Confidence. The ability to understand the basics of shapes and movements.[break][break]

The Starmie 720 didn't seem too much worse than the other tricks. He didn't even have to backflip for this one. It was just a 360 with an extra 360 at the end, right? Surely, after all of the death-defying stunts and utter chaos Isaac had put himself through, there wouldn't be a problem with a few little spins. Right?[break][break]

Oh well. It was too late. He was already cresting up the wave. There was no time to back down now! Isaac squeezed his eyes shut and prepared himself for the most nauseating trick he'd performed yet. As long as he spins to wins, who cares if he has to vomit into a garbage can after this? Glory takes sacrifice, damnit![break][break]

After a hard day of learning the ropes of Rangering, Josh had made it to the festival not too long before the Mantine Surfing area was to close. Having a better grasp on the timing for the jump, he made a second attempt at the PRIMARINA TWIST, building up rotational momentum, turning around, and thrusting his legs against the Mantine's back. The extra oomph from his legs would give him more time to perform the difficult twist and land on the falling Water-type's back! He flexed his legs, and his jump was true! Now how was his timing...?

After the small success he had yesterday he was definitively going to try and go big today, that was all he needed after the few first days of pure and uncensored failures in front of everyone one at the beach, this time he didn't care though, he had done one thing right meaning he had all the excuses to fail as many times needed now. Something about his failure yesterday made him all the more determined to nail down the move today. With a name like 'Magikarp' in its title, he was oddly embarrassed to have fugged it. Though he was a strong believer in persistence, and was sure he could rectify that.

Again, he returns to the dock in the early morning to bond with his Mantine rental. After brief thoughts of buying this rental from the shop, he boards it and sets off to find a wave big enough to try the stunt again.

Taking in his success from the dunk tank he would take his accomplishing ass towards the Mantine Surfing area, he could see people out in the water doing their tricks and flips, it seemed fun, it seemed like people were having a good time, so why not try it himself, it would be his first time so he didn't really expect much.[break][break]

Readying himself he would nonchalantly step on top of the Mantine that was chosen to him. This was child's play compared to the work he had to go through for the syndicate, it wasn't about balance, it was about being calm and collected, sending those vibes to the Mantine and receiving it back. Alright, logically, Barnaby knew that he was attempting to perform one of THE most difficult tricks out there. It wasn't something beginner or even intermediate surfers had any business trying to pull off.

he doesn't actually go outside much, contrary to his build. he felt like he was going to be humiliated by the first try, but given that he was pushed into this and agreed, he can't fault anyone but himself for trying.

he gets on the mantine. it feels different from any other flying-type he had ridden on, and to think he has to balance himself on top of it without any traction already has him thinking he won't be able to do it.

still, there was no choice but to try the hardest trick, and that he does.
