They... liked it? Ashley rubs the back of his neck. He was in the leaderboards. He feels pressure now, and a lot of it weighing on him. Still, round two. Play with water. That's easy enough. As he lets Sushi out, the Slowpoke makes a yawn, as Ashley points towards the runway. "We... might have a chance, buddy. Let's try to have fun with it."

So he does something incredibly stupid, and gets atop a blown up chair pool floaty, laying on his side to at least attempt to eye the judges sensually at his final destination. One look to Sushi, and Ash nods. Sushi uses SURF. Ashley's heart is in his throat, but well...

So long as this worked, maybe he didn't mind winning. As Sushi sends his delivery surf wave to the floaty, the floaty surfs atop and down the runway, stopping gently at the edge. His cheeks are flushed, his whole body is wet, but as he gazes upon the judges, one hand holding his head up, he tries to smile. Was it impressive? Maybe he tried too hard. He didn't want to win. But he'd just have fun with it.

For this second round of the swimsuit contest, Marshall changed outfits, opting for short lavender swim trunks with white-and-black details along the waistband. He discarded his extravagant garland of tropical red flowers for a loose white shirt, short-sleeved and open at the front to reveal his toned abs and pecs. The shirt material was gauzy and sheer; indeed, there was little of his torso it truly hid.

Before he even started his walk, Marshall peered down the runway and saw it was as slippery as a waterslide, as if someone had sprayed it down with WATER GUN. Making up his mind, he burst into action. He took some steps backwards, then sprinted forward.

As soon as he burst into view of the audience, he fell expertly onto his knees, using his speed and momentum — and the slick runway itself — to slide all the way to the end of the catwalk, grinning and pointing with both hands at various onlookers as he went. The water from the Octillery rained down upon him, soaking his clothes so they clung to his lean, muscled figure.

Miraculously, Marshall did not fall off the catwalk but slid to a stop. Grinning at the crowd, he rose to his feet, bowed with dramatic flourish, and turned on his heel. Carefully, he made his walk back up the runway, throwing finger guns and winks at the audience as he went.

The water was a welcome addition, not necessarily for his skin, his dermatologist was probably frothing at the UV radiation being amplified by the Rain Dance of water hitting the contestants on stage. But Callan was enjoying the cool water in the midst of this hot summer day. As the water hit him and Bowie, he tousled his hair, slicking it into a part as wet locks of hair layered against the sides of his forehead.

What better opportunity to show off her beautiful Nymphaea than a water-themed runway?

A curtain of mist frothed at the front of the catwalk as Elisabeth Fiorelli stepped through the WATERFALL, like a nymph emerging from the foam of the sea. Her elaborate golden braid glittered with water droplets as if dewy with rain, each plait marked by the immaculate petals of a blooming water lily.

Not to be outdone, her little Shaymin had also been given one of the white flowers. It carried the lily in its mouth while joyfully dancing through the spray of water overhead, pale petals bouncing as the Grass-type enjoyed a refreshing sunshower.

This round, a filmy sarong of rich, lush greens wrapped about the blonde's waist like a lilypad to drape down her left leg, prettily complementing the blushing colour that spread out from the centre of the white aquatic flowers. The swimsuit that the florist wore matched them in kind: a lacy white bikini, its latticework complete with blossoming fabric water lilies that clung to her glistening form.

Delicate anklets of woven willow reeds shimmered with Elisabeth's every movement, their twined white lilies the only thing ornamenting her bare feet as her Shaymin chased her eagerly with splashing steps.

The faintest smile graced the florist's previously frosty expression as she glanced down at her rambunctious Pokémon, turning to depart with a pivot of her heels before this crack in her demeanor could be glimpsed for too long by the audience.

This event was, admittedly, more entertaining than she had expected.

Using common knowledge and (not-so) critical thinking skills, it didn’t take much for Nanette to figure out a strategy. All it took a whispered word for d’Artagnan to move into action. He still did not seem at all happy with her continued participation, but he did not try and stop her, either. Instead, he snatched up the sarong she had removed earlier. A quick knot around her waist, and she set off. A purposeful, dignified walk had been instilled into her since she was young. And though Nanette herself was never truly confident or proud, at least her gait never showed it.

In primary school, they learned of weather in its most basic form and rendered via Pokémon moves. Water Gun and Sunny Day would always make something, her teachers had sang.

D’Artagnan’s blade glowed before he leapt, sluicing through the water with deadly grace. It scattered like rain, and combined with the overpowering sunshine –

Well, it was obvious.

A rainbow. How very surprising as a gimmick, not so much in terms of science.

Combined with the whirling flourish of Nanette’s sarong, it made for quite the show. It was enough showmanship fit for a dance competition, Nanette thought.

One round wasn’t enough. The palettes of the audience had barely been awakened, much less sated. And so Elinor readied herself for a second round. She decided against a change of attire, instead, she kept a watchful gaze upon her competition, trying to plan how to best make use of the water that had been added to the stage.

Perhaps it was time for a little show then. She whispered the details to the Lurantis. The only reply it gave was a nod. And so they waited for their turn to come.

They didn’t have to wait long. They were called to stage. The Octillery eagerly awaited, ready to blast what Elinor could only assume were some very weakened WATER GUN attacks upon the contestants. The runway was slippery as her feet met the drenched surface.

She walked with similar confidence as before, but this time Lurantis was not scattering petals. Instead, its scythe arms were glowing a bright green. Elinor passed the first Octillery, and with it, the firing began. The first squid tried to blast her with the previously mentioned WATER GUN. However, Lurantis was prepared. It parried the blast, sending water scattering to all sides.

Elinor continued her walk. And Lurantis continued blocking the WATER GUNS. Combined, it created a RAIN DANCE of light as the Lurantis twirled about protecting its trainer from getting hit directly. Though she was still drenched by the time she reached the end, the display had surely been a theatrical sight to behold, or so she hoped.

But perhaps her audience was much baser than that?

She began to walk back, the light show beginning once more as she walked like a dignified queen.

[attr="class","monbody"]Taking inspiration from the BUBBLE BEAM Water-type move, Aurelie brought along a simple pair of props for her second walk along the runway: a small bottle and a slender wand with a plastic ring on top. A pearl-white one-piece swimsuit with a plunging, ruched halter neckline clung to her figure and shimmered in the brilliant sunlight with an eye-catching iridescent luster, like the rainbow sheen glistening upon the surface of a soap bubble. The red-haired bladesmith lifted her chin high and flashed a brilliant smile at the audience and judges, before inserting the wand into the bottle and then moving the wand slowly through the air.

The soap-and-water solution within the ring turned into a stream of delicate, spherical bubbles as Aurelie continued wafting the bubble wand from side to side. Dipping the wand repeatedly and waving it rhythmically about, she began to walk down the runway in long, even strides, her hips swaying and her limbs flowing with willowy grace. The hand that held the bubble wand moved in languorous circles by her side, resulting in a swirl of shining, opalescent bubbles that surrounded her every step before floating away on the light ocean breeze.

She hoped it made for a pretty sight, even if it was a rather childlike and gimmicky little maneuver. At the very least, bubbles were fun, right? And hopefully it was different enough from the preceding performances to be moderately memorable.

By the end of the runway, Aurelie found herself standing almost ankle-deep in water from the deluges and ablutions of other people's runway performances, from WATER GUNS to RAIN DANCES. She paused for a moment at the end, before sweeping one foot through the accumulated water in a rising kick. The water sprayed upward and outward from around her feet in a sparkling, crystal-clear arc topped with a crest of pale, pristine foam, creating a pleasing effect—she hoped—of bubbles and sea spray wreathing her for an instant in a display of aquatic artistry.

Aurelie winked again at the audience, just like with her first walk down the runway, and spun around lightly on her heel to stride back, accompanied by a dwindling stream of bubbles. Her single eye twinkled merrily and her smile remained even once she was stepping off the runway, signifying beyond a doubt how much she was enjoying herself.

THE ONLY PERSON SURPRISED by fernando’s early lead is fernando himself. for him, this contest is little more than a mandatory appearance. he’s just here to be done with it. winning such a contest means little to him and after catching a glimpse of his competition, it feels impossibly out of reach.

he has little time to pounder the audience’s fascination with him before he’s ousted back onto the runway. he continues with his usual gait until the WATER GUNS come out.

“buy me out daddy silph!”

“get wet for me ferny!”

“turn around! let us see that ass!”

the hoot and hollering is uncharacteristic for him. it’s the last thing he expected but he takes it in stride, without much of a reaction one way or another. he doesn’t have a choice since any time he tries to introduce his marill, he’s met with a fresh splash of water.

he spits out excess water, breathing in and out where he can. perhaps the impeding fate of the region has a part to play in everyone’s lowered inhibitions.

One Pokemon, one technique, and don't overcomplicate things with the props. Maybe this time, he'd be able to handle things a little more elegantly.[break][break]

Then the waterworks started up and, damnit, Isaac was getting inspired again. Okay. He could walk out onto the stage like a total bore and do what a bunch of far sexier and cooler people were doing. Or he could do it his way and try to coup the crowd's attention with another big stunt. And if Isaac knew himself, he knew which option he'd be choosing.[break][break]

A Hydro Pump blasted out onto the stage dramatically, taking the already water-slicked runway and making it even more slippery. Whose Hydro Pump? Why, none other than Watson's, of course, who burst dramatically from behind the stage with Isaac in tow. The two were standing atop a surfboard, taking advantage of all of the water coating the runway to, quite literally, surf down it. It wasn't going to last for very long, but frankly, it didn't need to. All it needed was to get the two from Point A to Point B.[break][break]

Once he got to the end of the runway, Isaac turned his ankles in just the right way to kick the board into the air. He fell back in a splash of sea spray; all according to plan, of course. The lights passing through the shower of mist his surfboard kicked up practically left a rainbow passing through it, all as Isaac controlled his fall into a breakdance spin. All the while, Watson flew up into the air alongside the surfboard, catching it in midair. He landed next to Isaac with a flourish just as Isaac stopped his spin, the two posing for the crowds with cocky grins on their faces once more.[break][break]

Climbing up to the runway, Jack wears only a dazzling smile and board shorts of the purest white. He likes the attention, he had decided after his last walk down the runway, though he still struggles not to giggle. With purposeful steps that were only slightly cocky, Jack strides toward the audience. As he reaches the streams of water that arc over the platform from the adjacent Octillery, his steps slow as glittering diamond drops of water spatter down on him. Where they strike his skin, they glisten against the taut muscles he flexes while he walks. Where they strike his shorts, they sink into the fabric causing a soft pink flush to spread across its surface.

As Jack reaches the end of the runway, a pattern of white tropical flowers stands out against the now pink fabric of his only article of clothing. With one final step, Jack barely stops as he does a flip turn and strides back down the runway away from the audience.

Though the initial showing was hardly the best, it seemed to be passable. Elaine had hardly slipped off the stage yet. Which meant something was still working. It was hardly over.

And the next obstacle lay before her (and the other competitors), an downpour reminiscent of the end result of a rain dance, yet frantic and erratic--dictated by the whims of the Octillery shooting the water. And yet, she refused to get wet just yet. Much like real rain, one would be remiss to be without a parasol, even if that parasol was the Metagross floating above her.

A dryness in a wonderland of water.

A shade in a blistering sun.

She could only hope she didn't remain too overshadowed.

He may not be the worst among the competition, but Gavin's not got a whole lot of modelling experience. That is to say: he has none. He's winging it. And he's up against plenty of people who are either not winging it, or possessed of a natural talent he doesn't share.

That doesn't shake his confidence in the least. That, at least, he has in spades.

Though he'd thought at first about surfing down the runway on his Tyranitar's might, its distinct shadowed appearance might give away more than he hoped to. Instead, Gavin's Lanturn ILLUMINATES the runway as it sprays its BUBBLEBEAM around him, the light catching in the bubbles and making them sparkle with rainbow hues.

Without the gimmick of a magically transforming outfit to back her up, what does she have exactly? Her personality? A pretty face? Please. Literally every person in Hoenn is hot- just look at all the sexy hover icons![break][break]

The catwalk is completely flooded by the time she walks again, and a light rain dance continues to mist in the air. But with it comes an idea, inspired in no small part by the Clefable at her side. It's an homage, of a sort, to the last contest they'd performed in together.[break][break]

Luka's smile is sweetly demure as she glides back onstage. Water glistens upon flushed skin, trailing down barely concealed curves, and raindrops collect on her roseate curls like dewdrops on a rose. And, with Cupcake following close behind, Luka takes her first step atop the water.[break][break]

A light screen projected just below the surface provides a walkway, and with it the illusion that she's floating upon the flooded stage.[break][break]

Luka tiptoes down the runway like a petal on a stream. Light as any fairy, pretty as a peach, dainty steps carry her weightlessly towards the crowd. The gossamer fabric of her ensemble ripples elegantly behind her, soft pastels evoking the colors of a summery dawn.[break][break]

She takes a gliding step. She twirls. Wedge sandals have been replaced by bare feet and ribbons crisscrossed around her ankles, allowing her to point her toes as delicately as a ballerina en pointe. Soft ripples follow in her wake, and the light screen underneath casts her body in an ethereal light.[break][break] As she reaches the end of the catwalk, she hopes she doesn't look too silly. The fabric around her forearms flutters as they raise and lower in a sweeping curtsey, with Cupcake following suit (far more adorably). Only able to keep the collected act up for so long, Luka pivots slowly and makes her way back, lest the performance be sullied by an expression going silly with embarrassment.[break][break]

Hailee was so excited for this. The initial round had been a success. She hadn't expected to get on the leader boards but she was extremely grateful. The crowd was loving this, eating everyone up that had graced the runway. As the event organizers set up the next round Hailee spied Octillery on either side of the runway prepared to super soak the contestants as they passed. [break][break]

That got Hailee thinking. What if she brought the magic to them? She began digging around for just the swimsuit. A little magical moment that could make the presentation more lively. And of course, when water is mentioned she could think of no one better to have by her side than her Politoed, Lilli. [break][break]

"Let's have some fun!" She whispered to Lilli while she quickly changed into her new swimsuit. When she thought of magic she thought of witches and cats. So why not combine them? This swimsuit was themed after them both. The signature floppy witches hat adorned with cat ears. The top of the bikini was cut to resemble the ears of a cat with cute cat and heart shaped cutouts at the tip. She paired this with a cute cat-like collar choker with a bell and a bow. The choker fastened into a harness that connected the rest of the top of the bikini together. [break][break]

For the bottom she sewed a cute cat tail to the back and added her bubble wand to complete the look. They were ready to begin. Both Hailee and Lilli noted the slippery runway earlier and had decided to use it to their advantage. To the beat of the music thumping around them both Hailee and Lilli ran forward and used their momentum to skate across the slippery surface. [break][break]

They twirled and laughed their way down the runway while Hailee's bubble wand mimicked Lilli's BUBBLE BEAM as they RAIN DANCED down to the end of the runway. Hailee and Lilli blew their bubbles into the crowed before Lilli cutely sprayed the audience with a WATER GUN to cool them off. [break][break]

The droplets of water raining around them combined with the shiny bubbles caught the suns light and reflected prisms of rainbow and sparkles around them. Giggling at the fun they were having Hailee smiled and waved at the audience while Lilli leapt into her arms and Hailee hugged her close.
