why is it important?: noah's interaction with matt grants some league-based networking; however, more importantly, it grants matt and his pokemon their first experience with the recent dimensional turmoil, making the dire circumstances of hoenn more real.

thread summary:
After the events of CC lil penelope is feeling the aftereffects of feeling fucking powerless in the face of actual danger. Because of this, she's been a little distant with people, even CIAN MAHER, and so they take a little Hike to both quell the tension and relieve some of the stress. Starts out sadge, ends not sadge. A real rollercoaster of emotions. why is it important?: OK IM SORRY I CHOSE A SHIPPY THREAD FOR THIS, I KNOW I KNOW, BUT tbh i've been using these social threads to kinda expand on Penelope's true reaction to the unraveling situation around her. "Forced" into the calm, collected role of councilwoman, Penelope has even less opportunities to be vulnerable. And, when she trusts those around her, she often finds herself trying to comfort THEM and promote trust between them.

So, when she's with Cian, it's one of the rare occasions i can have her opinion and truly digest the fucked up shit hoenn has thrown at them. During this lil hike, she goes from reliving CC to being cheered up and finally saying the big L word back :OOOOOO. I think it's cute and had fun writing it fs fs. Not to mention, it acts as solid build up to the eventual reveal of Cian's affiliation.

Ceri Glynn's curry entry ft. Cillian Quinn

Thread Summary:

Shortly after first receiving reports of the disastrous events taking place at the Galar Region, Ceri and Gavin find themselves collecting data and samples for the M.A.G.M.A Division. Through it all, Ceri is painfully aware that Gavin and her share a hometown (Circhester) and that it may have been destroyed by Necrozma.

Why is it important?:

Her work for Team Rocket's science department, and specially her work for the M.A.G.M.A Division, matter a whole lot to Ceri. She's dedicated to it and will put it above most things, even when she's dealing with a lot of stress (such as after hearing about the destruction of Galar). I think this thread showcases that beautifully, along with the fact that Ceri has great respect and admiration for Cillian Quinn, and really wants to impress him.

In fact, Ceri comes to the realization that she actually cares enough to gather the courage to ask Gavin how he's doing after hearing of Galar, and when she does so, she finds that they have common ground in the fact that they both have complex and mostly negative feelings about the region.

As always, Thorn is such fun to thread with and honestly the dynamic between Ceri and Gavin brings me such joy. I love that he's becoming somewhat of a father figure to her, and I really look forward to their future plots ♡

why is it important?: with many things coming to a climax, this specimen revealed to derek that the unown report is no longer updating every entry(?), causing a great amount of speculation as to why. the timing of it being post-cyberchase [mars' avatarship which is unknown?], and everything else coming to a head suggests they have every piece of the unown report(?). this isn't reflected in the thread, as i dont think i knew that at the time, but it's something i hope to work into some paranoia/conspiracy or whatever the word is for other things i am working on. also its my only completed thread that was started since August i crai

Talia Celes's curry entry

thread summary: After one of the many distortions that has wrecked the natural environment of Hoenn, Talia is assigned to see to one of the nearby routes with a group of other League members, including Eva Morales. The two wind up rescuing some Rookidees that have fallen from their nest, building a new home for the Pokémon together.

why is it important?: Talia is at her heart a gentle soul who wishes to do good in the world, but often, she feels like she lacks the skill and expertise to achieve her ambitions. She doesn't realize that she is working with THE Head Scientist Eva Morales, but she immediately is relieved to have such a competent and capable woman working alongside her.

What I like about this thread is that it gives a rare opportunity for a character who is very well-known and respected in Hoenn to earn that respect from a newer face in a much more human, down-to-earth way: through the tending to an injured bird, and the thoughtfulness of someone who was once a Ranger, a long time ago (Secret Eva lore!).

The two characters had a very charming dynamic that was very sweet to see play out, especially in the quietly pleased way that Eva responded to someone young not knowing who she was.

Pryde's curry entry

thread summary: Gavin comes in to check on some progress, but rather he ends up catching Pryde in a moment of rest. Though the chill atmosphere becomes tense as their views clash in not only their words but with the way each respective Riolu clash with each other as a reflection of tensions rising.

why is it important?: Get a fun little cameo of Pryde's Wife as well as an insight of his views towards relations or not just toward pokemon but toward people in general as show with his thinking Cillian Quinn worrying over his husband's injuries was weak. Giving tell on his insight toward his own relationships with his fam.

Not only that but showing a fun change in dynamics from when Pryde used to be Gavin's boss and how, while roles are reversed, dynamics are still similar.

Plus Pryde shows off what counts as 'bonding with a pokemon' in his books.

thread summary: After receiving word of Elisabeth Fiorelli's promotion, Felix pays the new admin a visit to hopefully dissuade her from moving forward with her decision.

why is it important?: So tbh, it's 4am, I'm tired af, so this won't even scratch the surface of how I feel about this thread. First, I'm very thankful I can even submit this, as I've been dying to do so with one of my threads with Scarlet. They're so so fucking good and fun to write, I feel like it's a DISSERVICE not to.

First off, this is our fourth(?) Felix/Elisa thread, and lemme say, they build off each other so fucking well. Felix personally goes through so much growth and realization through talking to her, and as I've told scarlet so many times, I really enjoy them because whenever the two characters interact I feel like Felix is the most human I can make him. Like, it's hard to describe, but he just feels real during our threads and I love the depth it has provide.

In this specific thread, he is faced with the realizations of our last one, and how Elisabeth isn't like him..she doesn't need rocket and she doesn't need to drag herself through the mud. Obviously there's push back and it's just ugh. So good. Anywyas, ty so much scarlet for threading w me, as it's been some of the most fun I've had on hoenn. <3
