SILPH CUP 2024 AT PACIFIDLOG

[nospaces] [attr="class","omgen"] [attr="class","omgentop"]SILPH CUP 2024 AT PACIFIDLOG [attr="class","omgenmid"] FORTREE CITY MEMBER-LED EVENT STARTS MARCH 16 ENDS LATE MAY [player]https://fi.zophar.net/soundfiles/nintendo-gamecube-gcn/f-zero-gx/230%20-%20Cover%20Of%20Big%20Blue%27s%20Theme%20%28Item%20Song%202%29.mp3[/player] Big Blue - F-ZERO GX OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK [break] PACIFIDLOG TOWN[break] Contorting Currents[break] Difficulty: ★★★★★☆[break] COURSE RECORD: 04'15"952[break][break] CORSOLA CONUNDRUM THE WILD CURRENTS BEHIND PACIFIDLOG peaked in intensity surrounding the Corsola reef, the rock-types watching with as much anticipation as the gallery and those following the race on nationwide television. Near the front of the pack, Gwyar Wledig leaned into every turn, his awesome strength only adding to the ease with which his TERASTALLIZED AEGISLASH cut through the waves. Even when he briefly caught air from going against the waves, he landed at the perfect angle to make the transition from left to right flawlessly. Jack Napier 's MANTINE caught air at a more inopportune time, the waves pushing the surfer toward the outside and giving lam logan 's FERALIGATR a passing opportunity they would not squander. They were the leaders going into the second lap.[break][break]
[break][break]
kyle lopez 's ENORMOUS WAILORD may have been able to push other racers around with its enormous size, but that size proved to be a liability. Its huge, floaty body magnified the force the current exerted on it, the duo barely managing to remain in bounds as many more agile Pokémon zipped past them. With the waters wide open, Josh Devlin and Tempest Quinn dueled fiercely for fourth place, their SHARPEDO slowing at the perfect time to hug the inside of the left turn. With great balance and a powerful swerve, the Rocket Beast's shark cut the Gym Leader off, bouncing toward the leaders like a speedboat. The wake of robin coello 's CARRACOSTA further complicated matters for the professional racer, pushing him toward the outside of the narrow turn and forcing him to slam on the metaphorical brakes to avoid an off-course penalty.[break][break]
EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD, the competition was tight. Raju Mystic remained a great sport, waving to CIAN MAHER as he overtook the SYGNA SUIT wielder in the standings thanks to his GOLISOPOD's sublime handling. Unsteady waters were no match for the bug-type, maintaining pace with Eris Halla and Thomas Benoit . Their reduced speed was key in ensuring their WOOPER and BASCULEGION were not swept away to the outside. The Kalosian's worries would not reach Eva Morales in time, her BARRASKEWDA transitioning between turns far too early. With how sensitive the swift water-type's propeller-tail was, the Peacemaker lacked the reaction time to make corrective action. Both of them were out of control, Pokémon separating from rider as they found themselves caught on the Corsola reef, where they would be mere observers for the remainder of the race.[break][break]
[break][break]
Leilani Kalawai'a 's BLASTOISE, too, would have difficulty maintaining control in the shifting waters, overcorrecting for both turns. Such was the challenge of aquatic propulsion; there was far less grip, far less friction, than on land. Unable to reverse its cannons in time to act as a brake, the Pokémon withdrew into its shell completely in an effort to bounce off the reef's edge. They did not ricochet at a favorable angle, the Shellfish Pokémon shifting its cannons to correct its reverse trajectory as quickly as possible. It was not quick enough to prevent her from falling far behind, trailing kyle lopez and CIAN MAHER .[break][break]
Navy 's KINGDRA, catching sight of Leilani Kalawai'a falling behind, saw a passing opportunity. The Dewford Gym Leader's dragon was arguably the most well-equipped Pokémon to navigate the currents, capable of independently swimming and facing any direction. The only thing that held the Pokémon back was raw speed, though the speed it had was enough to hold off Genevieve Cromwell in a brief duel for thirteenth. No one could sleep on Ambassador Elise Calcifet and her DRAGONAIR, though; they had been steadily making up time after their mishap near the beginning of the race![break][break]
PACIFIDLOG'S CROWD SQUEALED as the swift Pokémon rocked the village on the way back to the starting line, FERNANDO SILPH announcing the end of the first lap with the words many in the field had been waiting to hear:[break][break]
"YOU GOT BOOST POWER!"[break][break]
Now, the real race would begin.[break][break]
You Got Boost Power! Speed-increasing moves, such as AQUA JET, AGILITY, and EXTREME SPEED are now allowed. Pokémon will be able to use such speed-increasing moves a number of times up to 1 or their Endurance ranks, whichever is greater, for the rest of the race. Speed-increasing moves will grant you ADVANTAGE on Speed-based Obstacles for the posting round, meaning you will [ roll ] four times instead of two for that post and ignore the lowest two rolls.[break][break]
Beware! Taking tight turns and stamina-draining Obstacles at high speeds can result in dire consequences, and will impose DISADVANTAGE on Endurance-based and Reaction-based Obstacles, meaning the higher of the two rolls will be ignored. If the lowest two of the four rolls would still pass the Obstacle, Track Position for that Obstacle will be instead calculated based on the highest two rolls.[break][break]
If you have a Z-Move that could be reasonably used as an extreme burst of speed, your Pokémon may use it once for the rest of the race. This will consume two uses of Boost. On the Obstacle the Z-Move is used on, you will NOT need to roll; your Pokémon's roll will be treated as an automatic 200. LAP 2 | OBSTACLE 1
Prompt: A sudden shift in the wind, now blowing from the east, agitates the current further as teams exit the opening stretch's long, sweeping turn. While the curves are gentle, it puts the Pokémon right in the path of the current, its waters relentlessly pushing them back. It might be a blessing in disguise for those farther back in the field, provided they can stay within the wake of other Pokémon![break][break]
Target Number: 180 (Speed)[break][break]
Special: This Obstacle's Target Number is reduced by 10 for each Pokémon in front of them in the race.
