Failure was the norm now, so much so it did not disturb his routine in the slightest. He rode the wave, the crashed into the wave, he recovered from the wave, and he rode the wave once again.

His mantine and him were united in their singular focus, the soreness of far too many bad landings long forgotten as their minds synchronized and centered on the only thing that mattered.
