Swarms, hordes, mass gatherings or whatever you happened to call them, were such an interesting phenomenon, the Fixer reflected as he observed the thronging colony of rabbit pokemon. You expected it from the likes of insect pokemon, and seeing a lone Zubat felt about as natural having your hand float off into the sky, but it always felt a little odd to see it from other species. Like Steelix. Or Honedges. Or, in this instance, Lopunnies.[break] [break]

He had been taking a relaxing stroll in his civilian guise, due to the fine weather and being a firm believer in days of rest being a vital part of maintaining one's health, when he, like the others in the area, had come upon the concerningly large gathering of Lopunny and Buneary. So much for a casual day of rest, but this was most definitely a problem, and while he might not have been wearing his work gear, he didn't need it to try and fix this particular issue. He needed pokeballs, and he had plenty of those, one of which he rolled back and forth within the loose grip of his curled fingers, offering the nearest member of the swarm a lopsided smile. "C'mon now, darlin', I don't much want to do this the hard way. Let's be all nice and civil-like and we can both be on our way. Deal?" [break] [break]

It was unusual to see so many Lopunny gathered together, it was an almost overloading sensation of cuteness which befell the eyes of those who were here. The swarm seemed almost sugary sweet in its idyllic daily-life, unconcerned with any strangers around them for the moment. But even she knew that it could change the moment any of those ferocious Lopunny got a whiff of danger.

Never the less rumors of the swarm attracted trainers of all kinds quickly, some average like herself, creepier or more stalker like. She had already made up her mind in regards to the situation she would do what she could to make sure none of those loveable darlings wouldn’t be caught by that type of trainer.

She quietly watched from a far as another trainer clearly a shut-in crawling towards the specimens that he intended to catch. Judging only on his appearance, she knew what she had to do. She would have to catch it before him! Foregoing all the pretense of sneaking she fetched her Pokéball from one of her pockets, took aim and threw it as far as she could towards the Pokémon. If it didn’t hit then at least she hoped it would make them aware of the creeper crawling towards them.

There was fur everywhere.

So.

Much.

Fur.

The ground along the route was spotted in pink, yellow and brown fur. It was a smorgasbord of colors that felt both joyous and happy, clashing with the girl's mood. Her dark attire made her standout like a sore thumb and her love of dark and ghost type pokemon made it even more disgusting to be standing here among the colorful hair. It was like she was standing in the middle of chocolate, banana and strawberry smoothie and the thought of it made her skin crawl. She grabbed at her waist and flicked her wrist, a pokeball flying from her hand opening to reveal her special Typhlosion, the Fire / Ghost type still a hot topic of study and seeing it in action was one of the ways she planned on observing it. What better way then fighting a horde of normal type pokemon who couldn't land a finger on him? Well not typically anyway, she didn't recall Buneary or Lopunny relying on much more behind normal and fighting moves but she didn't exactly commit their move sets to memory.

The call to handle the situation was one she was looking forward to. A way to test herself and her battling prowess in an endurance competition guised as a research project, although she was curious as to the reason the pokemon were swarming here to begin with, but it likely had little to do with anything she was interested in.

Tossing aside the idea she snapped her fingers. "Let's go, Honey. Time for some fun."

nope, far from it, but that won't stop her from fawning over the swarm of rabbits that stretch as far as the eye can see. i mean, look at all of them! they're practically begging her to jump into the crowd and indulge in all her fluffy dreams! besides, someone has to take her poor zorua's spot on the team to be the fluffiest little thing, and what better than a buneary? AND SO, THE BALL IS THROWN into the air, and she crosses her fingers. lady luck owes her one.

she didn't even do anything, but lady luck owes her anyways.

maybe she should have aimed before aimlessly throwing. oh well.

"Alright Howie, you ready?" She woofed and wagged that sweeping bush of a tail, her tongue lapping over the side of her mouth in a dorky way. "Just don't go too far ahead of me, alright? Good girl," he doted over her with some pats on the head, dragging his fingers like a comb through her mane. And then he set her to track the scent of the Lopunny fluffle reported to have swarmed Route 103.[break][break]

When she inevitably caught their scent, she gave a deep bark before pointing her muzzle in the right direction. And sure enough as they stalked forward quietly, there they were: Buneary and Lopunny all hippity-hoppity as they reveled in the spring bloom. And then a pokeball flew out from the concealment of shrubbery and tall grass, a deluge of pokeballs descending on the swarm.[break][break]

"Dolcezza?!" he called out, looking for the little Buneary that had, by chance, bounced up to him and allowed him a little pet or two. They'd been cute neough, and he consdiered the evolution a viable pokemon for Rocket. At the very least, he knew soething this cute would sell great for the organization if he managed to catch one of the pink ones. He'd already named the one bunny pokemon 'Dolcezza' but there'd beenothers that has been curious about the unintimidating Rocket. Amore had tried giving him a little flower as a gift. Fragolina had been the pink Buneary that had popped out of the shrubbery to peer at him before sprinting away the second he twitched to reach for an empty pokeball. Gelatto didn't seem to mind, sometimes chasing the skittish rabits like it was a game. "Keep your eyes open Gelato."

”Well hello there cutie-pie,” Yvette cooed.

She knew she should be more cautious, especially with all the Lopunny hopping around, but the Buneary that had carefully approached her camera setup was too adorable to ignore. It seemed for all her preference for large, intimidating Pokémon, she wasn’t any more immune to fluffy little bunnies than anyone else.

She dug a bit of celery out of her lunch pack and held it out to the unusually-pink rabbit, coaxing it closer with a little pspspsps.

It was a gorgeous day for an early spring ride out in the country south of Mauville. Barnaby had always been a natural equestrian; his upbringing had guaranteed him the best stables, the best tack, the best mounts. He carried on the hobby even after leaving Kalos, having found an upscale boarding facility just outside of the city.

This is where he kept his more traditional mounts, of course, but also a certain unusual one as well... his WYRDEER. The poor thing had been a STANTLER up until recently, used mostly for pack work when the odd job arose that needed such a thing, but that changed after it's short exposure to a space-time distortion. It had mutated and distorted from its original form into something - more. Stronger, more agile, capable of easily carrying an adult human on it's back. Barnaby had taken advantage of this after the fact, of course.

The WYRDEER's training was coming along and rides like these were paramount in correcting any unwanted behaviors and solidifying positive ones. For example, when a skittish BUNEARY bolted out across the trail and WYRDEER did nothing save snort in surprise; no rearing, no bucking, no needless anxiety.

"Ssh, that's it, love. Easy, easy."

After the first it seemed there was no end the swarm of lagomorphs blazing the trails. So many, in fact, Barnaby figured he might as well catch one.
