It isn’t rare for Toshiaki to be at scenes like this; Pokemon mass outbreaks, that is. This time it’s a large gathering of Kangaskhan with their offspring. Lavaridge is known for its hotter climate and rejuvenating hot springs, so it somewhat makes sense that these mothers would branch out to somewhere with medicinal properties. Anything to keep their young healthy and well.[break][break]
There’s a huge nerd of them trying to inhabit the local hot springs and quite a few have managed to drive the people out and overtake them. He can’t help but chuckle to himself, watching how the infant Kangaskhan and their mothers interact together. [break][break]
His thoughts wonder, memories left buried, resurfacing..[break][break]
“Come now, Toshi. It’s not nice to pull on your Uncle’s hair.” His mother coos, her gentle beautiful voice immediately catching his attention. His little chubby fingers are in his poor Uncle @warren 's hair, tugging and pulling while the other’s face contorts in clear displeasure. It was shiny, he liked it! The little toddler giggles, before full on tugging on his young uncle’s ponytail. That went about just as well as you would expect.[break][break]
His mother gasps, transferring the rowdy toddler back to her arms. Little Toshiaki laughs the whole time. “It’s pretty! Like mommy’s!”[break][break]
Toshiaki grins to himself, brushes at his faintly freckled nose. “Alright, I should get to work.”[break][break]
He notices one Kangaskahn in particular exiting from a local hot spring, both mother and child looking rather refreshed after her bath. He draws out a Pokeball, then tosses it.[break][break]

Damn, Rita wanted to catch one, though. She loved the tough-as-nails vibe of the Kanghaskan mothers, the way they fiercely protected their young and didn't look less intimidating for it. If anything, the female Pokemon seemed all the more imposing for their motherhood. God help the stupid wild Pokemon that tried to get between them and their cubs.[break][break]

"We aren't interesting in separating any families today, don't you worry." A red-and-white Pokeball flashed brightly in her hands as she spoke. "We're looking for a package deal here."[break][break]

It was weird to see a bunch of Kangaskhan gathered together and shooting the shit like aunties at afternoon tea. Cyg thought back to the last time her mom had ever had friends-- eons ago, it seemed, people would come over for card nights and Cyg would be banished to her bedroom while mom and dad and their friends slugged cheap beer and played euchre. Was it euchre? It had to be euchre.

Contrary to their human counterpart, these Kangaskhan did not seem to want to be parted from their little pouchwarmers, despite their socializing. Cyg zeroed in on one on the outskirts of the gossiping horde, Pokeball in hand, ready to run should things turn ugly. She didn’t so much fancy being smushed into road pizza by an angry menopausal kangaroo… dinosaur… thing….

“Hey there, big momma,” Cyg whispered, edging a little closer, “it’s time to come to papa!” She yeeted the Pokeball and prayed.

Mr POG Bank CEO over here is, of course, an all too helpful man, and true to his claims about caring for the well-being of Hoenn’s people, it’s only natural that he’d personally show up to lend a hand when hearing about the group of Kangaskhan causing trouble near Lavaridge Town. He’s just so nice! What a man!

But, back to the problem at hand, motherly as Kangaskhan may be known to be, the so aptly named Parent Pokémon can sure cause trouble when they wish for it – especially if the 'mommies' think their young are at risk. It’s because of this that Mars takes no chances, and it’s his Urshifu that stands right by his side in wait for a command.

Dominic the Rillaboom takes this as permission and begins pounding a percussive rhythm on his drum, numerous heavy roots bursting from the ground amid the Kangaskhan swarm and sending them flying. It's almost too easy for Beau to chuck a pokéball at one of the downed interlopers, the man grinning all the while.

Derek shows up with many others already well into the process of scaring the herd away. Some even seem to be doing their utmost to capture a Kangaskhan for themselves. So long as they were run out of the area, all would be well.

Unfortunately for one of the baby Kanga's, that meant scaring it enough to get mommy to come over. A quick water gun seemed to do the trick. It fell fight for the trap, which came in the form of Randal's dynamic punch. Paralyzed and unable to do much, Derek figured he'd try to catch it first. If that didn't work, then he'd have no choice but to have Randal relocate it elsewhere...

It was happenstance that brought BARNABY FINCH to the beginnings of the KANGASKHAN swarm. He had ventured into Lavaridge Town for the weekend, eager to soak away his tensions and worries in the local hot springs. By the time he was preparing to depart, the giant, motherhood-obsessed Pokémon had just started to shuffle through.

Aaaw, look at all the mommies with their little ones. He thought idly to himself from the front porch of the hot spring building, wondering a little too casually if their proximity was something to be worried about.

On cue, Pokémon Rangers came out of the woodwork and began corralling the KANGASKHAN away from the village. It seemed some civilians were even volunteering to help as well. Barnaby figured, hell, why not. He had some time to spare. Plucking a Poké Ball from his bag, he approached the swarm with every intention to capture one of the interloping creatures.

[attr="class","adrianwtw"]Most of the little Kangaskhans cling to their mommy every waking second, making it easy to take a shot at the larger, adult Kangaskhan while they're preoccupied tending to the little ones. But they keep an ear out for intruders, forcing trainers like Adrian to move up slowly and stay downwind.[break][break]

It's a steady process. Boring, tedious, but perhaps worth it.[break][break]

Preferrable to startling them all at once to try and battle one and wear it down; that'd just be inviting a stampede. Even with Howitzer newly returned to his side, he's not sure he wants to tangle with that. So he continues creeping up through the underbrush, sure to keep still when a Kangaskhan gazes in his general direction.[break][break]

But eventually he would be close enough, hurtling a pokeball towards one of the closest specimens, ducking back into the grass before they were any the wiser.[break][break]

Callan arrived with a bulkhead of Pokemaniacs on a Corviknight bus to the swarm's location. Kanghaskan were rarities, and to be able to find such a large swarm of them was a rare event, but that also meant that he had to sit in a bus full of stank middle aged pokemaniacs that smelled of sweat and cheeto dust.

But he was here on a different reason. Kanghaskans as a pokemon was a good Mommy. He had hoped to cathc one for his daughter, so that when she became a trainer, she'd have at least one Pokemon who'd be able to properly take care of her. Alongside his Audino, it'd be a good gift when she turned ten.

Finally getting into an open space, Callan distanced himself from the swarm of maniacs who were mostly here for pictures and sightseeing, as he joined in on the trainers below in the brushes to capture one for himself. His ranger training kicked in, as he made a mulch of pecha berries mixed in with some pre-pounded rice, and slid into the brushes by a corner. The sweetness attracted one Kangaskhan and its child in particular, as he readied his ball, lobbing it with dextrous force in between its shoulder blades, from behind.

The Kangaskhan species were an interesting lot. Why did they all have babies in their pouches? Why had he never seen one without a baby, or a baby on its own? There were so many mysteries about them, and maybe it was because he and Izumi were parents themselves that made the parental instincts of these mercilessly persistent mothers so interesting to him. So it was that he had taken to ensuring the lot wouldn’t cause any harm while looking for one to catch for himself. Sure, it would be two mouths to feed instead of just one, but Mother Hen Izumi never seemed to mind.

Of course she was probably somewhere around here planning to catch one too.

The Kangaskan swarm had been a little troublesome, but Mint found it a good training opportunity. Then again, anything mildly terrifying to him was a good training opportunity. Perhaps this was a bad habit he was developing, but he wasn't about to think on it. His desire to be productive and improve pushing aside the sense of self preservation that was shrieking FUCK OFF, DUDE!

He grinned, hiding in the grass with Cacio. "Mhmm. Yeah. Magne Rise, and a couple of Thundershocks should send them moving East." he said turning to the panther pokemon next to him who simply yawned, stretched and began doing as he was told while his trainer pulled out a pokeball. "Just in case! Always good to refill sale stocks." The black market would take anything after all.

He got here before any incidents but there was still quite the gathering of Kangaskhan making their way.

Lavaridge just echoed hollow without Utah, and now Stormy.

Regardless there was still work to be done.

Most of the trainers present did well to deter and herd the passing Normal-types aggressive as they might be.

They weren't completely brainless, if humans gave them a wide enough berth they'd go on about their business peacefully.

He had a spare pokéball in the event he was able to catch one.

Despite how well it was going he knew in full how bad things could go if one of the mothers got upset. He watched on as one of the Kangaskhan roared down on its pup making it cower in obedience.

Not even his pups would be spared a mother with that power. He could see it now.
