As May begins, old traditions are reborn anew. Welcome to the Cultural Festival! Hosted graciously by the Lilycove Museum, this Contest will take place as an opening to the Festival! Gym Leader Melody Miro has been kind enough to lend out a venue to use, right in the heart of Lilycove City! IC, this is a special celebration hosted by Gym Leader Tempest Quinn to celebrate the Hoyeon people, which he is part of. OOC, this is a Smart Contest and a chance to get Temp's Gym Badge if you don't already have it! (But if you do, don't let that stop you from joining!)

Temp stands at center stage. He is wearing more traditional clothing, paint on his body in vibrant blues, reds, and greens. The picture of an ancient Hoyeon warrior brought into modern times. Intimidating and proud is the aura he tries to give off- which maybe is a bit harder than usual given he is leaning on crutches and his ankle is in a brace.

"People of Hoenn!" His voice rings out to the crowd, enhanced by the earpiece he speaks into. "Today is a celebration of where we came from! Those of you who are brave enough, step forward now! Let us dance through history together!"

This contest functions a bit differently from others, so please pay close attention to the rules before you sign up.

TYPES - For this Contest, you will be limited to one of three types of pokemon: Water, Flying, or Ground. The pokemon you choose will determine a few different things for you, like prompts, which are listed below! EDIT: Even if your pokemon is dual type (water/flying, ground/water, ect) you can only choose ONE of the two types to represent. You will keep this chosen type the entire Contest. If you don't choose one, I will choose for you when I post the Contest.

VOICE - This is an echo of the Hoyeon tradition of story through dance. Your pokemon will be expected to reenact events that Temp gives you via the Prompts given. After the introduction your Trainer gives, they will not be allowed to speak in your posts. You have to trust your pokemon to express what you want!

MOVES - Each round you can use up to Three moves. At least one of the moves must be of your selected type. You get bonus points for using more moves of your chosen type, but you can only use each move once. Pokemon moves can be changed freely between rounds, so you don't have to worry about locking yourself into a certain moveset!

PROMPTS - Each round will have a Prompt for you to follow! This Prompt will change slightly based on what Type of pokemon you choose, but for the most part is similar with just a few minor changes. You must stick with your Prompt to the best of your ability!

FUN - This contest isn't very mechanic heavy and mostly just here for you to have a good time! Creativity with your moves is the biggest factor! Just have fun! c:

PRIZE - Officially, this contest is a SMART CONTEST, so you will be added to the SMART CONTEST WINNER'S LIST if you win! People who rank highly will also receive a GYM BADGE from Temp's Gym!

There is NO slot limit. However, to keep it fast, there will be STRICT POST DEADLINES. No extensions will be allowed. If you miss one post, you will be Kicked from the Contest. Only one character per player may enter.
