From the front, Ranger's lead, or so they said.

An over indulgent over populace of eager Spinarak was as good a sign as any to provide some good old fashioned human intervention.

In the case of the Head Ranger; he brought an eyrie of spider-snackers to a web rally.

In the presence of their natural predators twice over (most bug-types couldn't decide which to be more afraid of Fire-types or Flying-types) the spiders began to make way and when some few of the tower started to stack TAILWIND on each other and PROTECT on themselves, the Ariados went about their business even faster.

Although as one seemed to do a bit of a dance on its way out, there seemed to be an awareness among them that there were plenty more lingerers left to clear out.

What was it with him wandering so far away from the City in the Crater?

Here he was, out at Mount Pyre—did it remind him of Mount Moon for some reason—?

“Fuck,” he hissed as he felt his arms get snagged on the extremely sticky webs that had literally festooned all over the nearby area. Honestly, why was there an infestation of these things out here, of all places?

“Don’t get stuck,” was all he grumbled as he sent out his Doublade, that made a grating noise before proceeding to hack and slash away at the sticky threads, praying that none got on the vibrant tassels—those would be a bitch to clean.

He then squinted in the distance, spotting the unnatural growth of the canopy of the tree that now covered the Sootopolis crater. Those within Rocket called it the ‘Tree of Life’, and with good reason.

The damned thing grew so suddenly it blotted out the night sky views. Sucks to be them.

A few moments later, he then felt something brush against his legs and groaned.

Was he going to have to incinerate the entire area with his foul-tempered Charmeleon just to clear out the silk?!

Oliver wore his standard ranger uniform, including long pants that covered his white legs. He really needed to go to the beach, especially to get some color his legs. Sighing the red and black headed young man walked his route, keeping an eye out for Ariados and Spinerak. With him out was his trusty Dragonite, who walked behind him. The bug pokemon were mostly night hunters, it was unusual if they saw them during the day. It was starting to get dark when he saw the huge amounts of webs in a section. Way too much for the section. If they were more spread out, it wouldn't be so bad. Waiting for Ariados to come out, he tried to reason with them with Dragonite translating. One of them, an unusually large one, instead challenged them to a fight. Well, here we go...

He'd been sick for the past couple of weeks, recovering from a cold he got after a rendezvous in the pool. But now that he was feeling better, it was time for Rally to stretch his legs and get in on the action.

With all the Spinarak and Ariados running around, Rally was looking to catch something. Neither species were found in his home region, so they were really unique to him. He had to be very careful not to...

Actually, careful is boring. Time to run in, screaming and throwing PokeBalls.

Running as fast as his LEGS could carry him, once news broke out about an Ariadoes swarm Toshiaki was on the scene. Primarily growing up in Johto, whenever he could he snuck out to the forest to play with the bug Pokemon. He grew rather fond of them because of it. [break][break]
Sighting a few Spiniark and Ariadoes in a group he makes sure to stay well-hidden in the bushes. He throws a Pokeball out into the clearing and hopes for the best. [break]

A rumor has spread that some creepy crawlers have been swarming in route 123. And normally, the pink haired lady ignored the report as she has been busy practicing her contest routines for the up and coming contest season. However the reports state that within the swarm, shiny pink pokemon have been spotted. And you bet, Eleanor was quick to jump on the band wagon.

Brilliant blue orbs flickered over the tall forest trees, a frown formed along her lips as she spotted countless spider webs as far as the eye can see. Her gaze fell upon her oddly colored Crobat, feeling unease as the forest got thicker with webs with each step. “Ummm… lark,” the female mumbled nervously, moving closer to her bat, “I got a bad feeling about this.” The Crobat screeched, causing a disturbance.

Suddenly, wild pokemon appeared from everyone. Too many LEGS to count them, each one hissed in angry. Eleanor shrilled, cowering away as her Crobat flow before her to defend her. He flapped his wings hard, creating AIR SLASHes as the creatures tried to attack. In the mix of the battle, Eleanor spotted a pink one. “I want that one,” she chimed in, hand rose to point to the pink one. The Crobat ignored her, too focused on defeating the others.

Frowning even more, Eleanor reached into her pocket. Blindly, she tossed the ball in the direction of the pink one. Would be be lucky enough to catch it?

While no longer a ranger, word of an Ariados swarm was enough to get Derek off the couch and on his way to Route 123. Upon landing he'd seen others already in the midst of trying to catch them, which was to be expected.

What he didn't expect was the pokemon rubbing against his leg.

Not wanting to startle the spider pokemon in fear of being bit, Derek remained still at the leg while grabbing a pokeball from his pocket. A quick click-and-drop would activate the device, which would at least get it off of him if not accomplish his goal of capturing the pokemon.

He had shown up to the ariados swarm, god he hated these spiders, the trainers who used them were usually the most annoying ones he faced. [break][break]

They had a ton of uses..but those legs of theres...it sent a shiver down his spine. Xerneas had asked bryan to make sure that the forest didn't get too covered in silk as the balance of nature in the forest was important to xerneas, even if it wasn't his own dimension. [break][break]

Bryan however, didn't care much for the balance of life, but if it was something Xerneas wanted he'd do it. He walked into the forest with his shaymin as the sweet scent it emitted had began to lure the spiders over as Bryan started to punch them one by one.[break][break]

However shaymin's seed flares began to explode all over the forest, wiping out a lot of the silk that they had created and knocking out a couple in the process.

Rowan didn’t often seek out insect Pokémon, a specialty outside of his wheelhouse, but there was the opportunity to help the environment and preserve conservation of vegetation in the area. “Mistral, Steel Claw.” The Prinplup sliced through the silken webbing with ease, a proud look on their face until the moment an Ariados came into view.

Scooping up a Pokéball, Rowan tossed one towards the Pokémon, looking for a chance to humanely relocate them.

Tianyu watches with interest as the Ariados skitter to and fro on thick legs between strands of glistening spider silk. He pulls his phone from his pocket, making several notes on the device before his head tips in the direction of the Ninetales vixen seated at his heels.

"Daji, if you would," he requests politely, his hand lowering to lightly touch the pokemon on the back of the neck and scratch the fur there. She gives a sharp nod in turn, shaking herself as she stands, and then trots forwards; opening her maw wide, gouts of flame burst from her throat, burning away the webs from the Route.

His expression pleased as the path is cleared, Tianyu offers, "Thank you," to Daji.

The pair continues onwards, burning away nest after nest of sticky webbing.

Mint's legs were not built for how fast his Growlithe was running. The golden pup had torn into the area, spitting embers at spider silk and barking wildly at hordes of Spinarak and Ariados. Some had gotten upset and fought back, only for his partner to think they were playing for real and blasting bigger plumes of flame out of his tiny mouth.

"Marzapane! Slow down!!" he begged at the pup chased off another round of spiders, shaking off loose silken threads. "How are your legs...so short...band yet you're so fast?" he wheezed as the dog finally waited for him. Even with all the exercise and training, Mint still felt skinnier than most of his colleagues. He looked down at what he had dubbed his chicken legs and frowned while Marzapane rushed off to kill more bugs.

Spiders. Why did it have to be spiders? They were icky, and left webs everywhere! And then, there were their Legs, all too willing to crawl just about anywhere where they could. Ariados was no exception.

Elinor’s opinion on the Ariados and their legs notwithstanding she still found herself on Route 123 helping the other rangers by trying to cull some of the numbers of the swarm. Still, it was a good opportunity for Talonflame and Murkrow to get some much-needed bonding time and exercise. And so the birds would do their job, herding the large spider Pokémon around until they were satisfied with the outcome. And in the process, Talonflame showed the Murkrow time and time again how to perform Sword Dance, which improved its Attack and Special attack capabilities.

And while they were doing that, Elinor thought it wise to maybe try and catch one of them, there was no harm in that, right? And so she threw a Pokéball into the swarm hoping to catch whichever one it hit.
