THE STARMIE WOULD BE PERFORMED ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. This is her third or fourth attempt. Elinor was growing frustrated. But she would do it or die trying. Particularly with that spectacular wipeout of a failure on her last attempt! She'd gone tumbling head over heels into the water and probably would have hit her head on something on the sea floor if she hadn't recovered her wits enough to start swimming toward the surface. Arceus, that had been mortifying. Her only comfort had been the sympathetic smile of solidarity that Xiura Balfaltin gave her as they both paddled back toward shore, having both been defeated by the sea and their own ambition. The challenge of it all was what drove Aurelie to keep coming back, though. She might give up eventually on her hopes of performing all the tricks, including the ever-daunting Magikarp Splash, but today was not that day. Today was the day she tried the Primarina Twist again, though, in hopes of finally getting it right this time. She refused to let herself be intimidated or discouraged by her past attempts, even if some of them had been appalling. She would get it right. Eventually. If there was one consolation, it seemed that many other wannabe surfers were also attempting the MAGIKARP SPLASH and also failing tremendously. Zev didn't wish to be counted among their number, but the trick still eluded him. With a sigh, he got back on the Mantine and urged the Pokémon forward. Despite all the previous wipeouts, he was not going to give up. |
