SILPH CUP 2023 AT FORTREE GYM

[nospaces] [attr="class","omgen"] [attr="class","omgentop"]CHASE FOR THE SILPH CUP [attr="class","omgenmid"] FORTREE CITY MEMBER-LED EVENT STARTS MARCH 6 ENDS LATE MAY [player]https://fi.zophar.net/soundfiles/nintendo-gamecube-gcn/f-zero-gx/210a%20-%20One%20Ahead%20System%20%28Cosmo%20Terminal%29.mp3[/player] One Ahead System - F-ZERO GX OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK FORTREE CITY[break] Ordeal[break] Difficulty: ★★★★★☆[break] COURSE RECORD: 05'36"690[break][break] WATCH FOR WAKE TURBULENCE! THE WILD TURNS of the opening fourth of the aerial race course that overlapped with Gym Leader Alexei Ivanov 's obstacle course served as a constant reminder that the Ordeal was so named for a reason: it gave racers not one bit of breathing room. Without one flat spot on the entire track, racers would need to constantly monitor their Pokémon's bank angle, pitch, and airspeed to stay within the course's bounds and avoid a nasty air crash.[break][break]
POKEMON ADEPT AT QUICK TURNS gained ground on the field. With a proud cry, Alexei Ivanov 's SALAMENCE dove at the top of every peak and swooped the bottom of every trough, surging past competitors who could not handle the constant elevation changes without slowing down a lot. alec foster and his DRAGONITE were right next to him, turbulence from his mount's WING ATTACK and the Birdfather's dragon creating a funnel of disturbed air that made it difficult for oscar clayton 's BEEDRILL to pass them. Fans watching from the far side roared as the insect sounded like a race car whizzing by, the three in a fierce battle for FOURTH PLACE. MATIAS SILPH and his DRAGONITE, while using the entire width of the course, were also through cleanly, maintaining SEVENTH PLACE behind the battle ahead of them.[break][break] THE ENTIRE FIELD leaned hard to their left as the big dive came, the horizon at a sharp angle. It was one tricky downhill curve, indeed, with not a lot of angle to spare. One miscalculation or miscue would be all it took for teams to find themselves cutting through swaths of trees, a race-ending crash awaiting those who did not remain focused. Exiting the dive proved to be the most crucial part, El Sunderland passing SONIKKU in the ensuing contest of their TOGEKISS' speed and handling. Julia Davis and her SALAMENCE threatened to pass the dueling TOGEKISS as well, making up tons of time from better racing fundamentals than her immediate competition had. Her love of and extensive experience with roller coasters keeping her lunch within her as her dragon mount crested each curve perfectly. Those fairy-types weren't giving their race position up easily, though![break][break]
THE SERPENTINE DRAGONS were by far the most adept at the dive, able to easily pull out of it despite rotating their bodies harshly to turn tighter. @elio and his GYARADOS dueled Mauville Gym Leader Josh Devlin and his Dragonair fiercely, approaching almost 90-degree bank angles before leveling off and flying down a widening, then narrowing, section of the course. It was one of the few places on the course ideal for passing during boost laps. Even Andrea Vaneau and her SHINY GYARADOS, close to the back of the field, gained significant ground on the field, ready to make a big move during the opening lap's final stretch.[break][break]
THE SCREECH OF A METAGROSS followed by a loud thud tested the reaction times of Elise Calcifet , lam logan , and their NOIVERN and TALONFLAME. The steel-type looked like it was going to pull out of its left-hand roll in time, but didn't. Dirt flew into the air everywhere around olliver samovar as his Pokémon had overcompensated, trailblazing through the woods near the Gym. The man was shaken up substantially, but got back on his METAGROSS and took back to the sky, well behind the rest of the field.[break][break]
kyle lopez AND Josh Dragomir were in a dead heat for the lead coming into the big dive, both of them taking different approaches. The Top Champion's was much riskier: fly his SHADOW TALONFLAME as high as possible, grazing the canopy before making a sharp dive to the lower part of the course and pulling up at the very last second. His brave and reckless gambit worked, zooming past the DRAGONAIR that was now in hot pursuit.[break][break]
LAP 1 | OBSTACLE 3
Prompt: Following a nasty and narrow chicane on the backstretch is a long right turn with several large, mandatory rings to fly through! The course's red and green boundary markers reverse color early into the turn, denoting a mandatory inversion on top of that! Pokémon and racers will need to maintain sharp focus to avoid major disorientation from turning while also flying upside down![break][break]
Target Number: 140 (Endurance)[break][break]
Special: If a Pokémon rolls beneath the Target Number by more than 30, instead a flat -100 TP penalty is incurred for a missed mandatory ring.[break][break]
