There were paradox versions of the swords of justice as far as the eye could see... it was genuinely worrying; Paradox pokemon tended to be strong as it was; would alternatives of legendary pokemon be even worse?

The Walking Wake had certainly been a menace...

"Fiery Dance." Doug ordered with a frown, patting his Volcarona's side.

She released a low croon, before her searing scales began to rain down unto the robots below, burning away at machinery as they made a beeline for the djinn.

Having been shocked by several of the Iron Crowns Tango could feel he was running on fumes with the numbers that were trying to get through even as other trainers tried to do the same. [Break][break]

"Just one more push!" Razz told his partner wishing he could bring out more than one in this situation but with the chaos around focus was limited. [Break][break]

Tango did as told though armor coming into a proper cannon as he aimed an ARMOR CANNON at some Iron Crowns, the fire putting them down. Tango breathing heavy from exhaustion until an Iron Boulder came in to tackle and knock him out forcing Razz to recall him.

white kyurem bathes the world in fire. ori darts through the snapping flames like a bullet, tailwind keeping the worst of the heat away from his rider. the world is a dizzying array of colors, stained a horrible, angry red. she sinks as deeply as she can against the small salamence's back. the fusion fire breaks and for the first time freya spots the unicorn responsible for saving them.[break][break]

ori snaps his wings back out. an explosion beneath them plumes hot air and the velvet draperies catch like sails, lifting them higher on the battlefield. beneath them, amidst the glittering crystals, freya can make out the shapes of revitalized pokemon shedding their never-melt ice. [break][break]

a triumphant trail of flame leaves ori's maw and freya grins. red feathers curl in her periphery and kirimu loops over them, scales still smoking. he does not look at the dragon that shackled and freed him with the same breath, but rather down - he circles like a vulture, apprehension visible in the twitching of his tail.[break][break]

"lyune can handle himself," she says. ori dips a shoulder at her command and then they plummet, kirimu following closely behind.[break][break]

the dragon's cry of warning comes too late. a mechanical prong arcs down from the tera crystals and clips ori's side, sending freya scrambling off of his back. malignant neon eyes follow their trajectory and light spins between its horns. freya rights herself in the air, one hand outstretched, and kirimu catches her with practiced ease.[break][break]

ori returns to her in a ray of red light before the pulsating beam from their adversary can reach his body.[break][break]

they mean to flee, but evading the first only brings them into an army of dozens more. her comms are alive with reports of the same entities amidst the tera crystals. far above them, the djinn connives, pulling its dragon on a leash, and freya aches to continue the onslaught against them, but their battle is here now.[break][break]

and they're not alone.[break][break]

she sees him, right as the crystals twined in her braids begin to glow. moonlight shimmers over his form, energy swathes his rider, and a galaxy spools over his scales as lyune terastalizes. multi-colored flames burn brilliantly from his maw as he sees freya, and this display melts the pistons and plating of this otherworldly army manifesting around them.[break][break]

kirimu tucks and races past them, plunging into the flame.[break][break]

"harcourt," she shouts as she goes, "light them up."

The oncoming copies begin their assault and Neon huddles close behind his Gigalith who stands watch like a defensive tower. "Fuck ,if only it'd managed to eat Zekrom earlier!" he hissed as he heard jayden cross speak. As THEO BECKETT sends out their new directives he looks to find Hoopa. "Maybe if we can snatch Hoopa we guarantee control of the mountain." he hissed fumbling with his pokeballs as something solid stomped forward. His faithful Aggron, burned but relieved seemingly. The tall steel type lowered it's head at a stunned but relieved Neon. "I knew we'd get you out of there eventually!!" he said, hugging the big lug. [break][break]

Her megastone glimmered right where he'd left it and he grins as she begins to shimmer. Tortellini eventually floats back, also showing signs of burn but nevertheless relieved to be unfrozen and blubbering softly. It seemed he'd heard Neon's assurance that he'd be fine. "Alright buddy, back up our Underboss." he said sending the Weezing back out as they floated upwards to smash into the Hoopa with ASSURANCE. [break][break]

As Zev Harcourt, Neffatari Nzingha, and oscar clayton dive to protect their general position from the encroaching robo copies he shouts a, "Good luck!" Discussions pass over what to do with the chasm and he's relieved when BARNABY FINCH argues it may be a waste of time. [break][break]

For a moment, it looked like he would eat shit and die— but his matron must've been in a good mood. So he found himself hovering meters off the ice instead, his head snapping towards Tapu Lele with a grin as he raised the Z-crystal around his arm.

A beacon of courage against the insurmountable, the Keldeo stood out against the white landscape. Even at this distance, its glittering horn shone like gemstones. May Arceus guide your blade. This prayer grew in intensity as the Kyurem began to glow.[break][break]

An arc of fire and power cut through the air. The Fusion Flare drove both her and her Iron Valiant to her knees. The metallic creature wrapped her in its arms, the spear crossed over both of them in a defensive gesture. As the light faded from her eyes, it took a moment to blink away the light. Near to her, one of the trainers rushes to reunite with what was once an ice statue. The creature’s skin flickers with flame but it is well. Thank you, my lord.

But the feelings of gratitude and triumph are short-lived. The dragon is soon passing its portents again. And, the chaotic thief is summoning something. The blonde watches as the first of the beasts crests the chasm. She recognizes them as the Swords of Justice. Or, at least, some twisted aberration of them. Their eyes do not shine with courage or fortitude. Instead, there was little but gears and LEDs. Arceus, what have we wrought? [break][break]

Watching as others rush toward the chasm, the veteran does the same. A nod of solidarity passes between her and her Parado as she swaps him for a more familiar figure. In a fluid motion, Lydia springs upon the Lycanroc’s back. She buries her head in Minerva’s fur as she issues orders into a fuzzy ear, “We must help them” With a howl, the rock wolf dashes toward the chasm. Lydia passes Josh Devlin as she descends.

Ignoring the path, she summons several rocky spires. These bring her toward the bottom of the path. “We’ll need to—” It is at that time that Elisabeth Fiorelli calls forth an avalanche. Lydia is forced to throw up a protective hand as snowdrops onto the impromptu stairs. Something snaps as she and her starter plunge into a drift at the chasm’s bottom. They do not hesitate, however.

“Seal the door the best you can!” The wolf calls forth the crystals. Powerful pillars of stone shoot forth in an attempt to block the tide of Paradox Pokemon. Any that near find themselves facing the veteran’s gun. The first one—an Iron Leaves—falls back as her shot shatters its LED display. Before it can recover, one of the stone spires punches through its side.

He’s the only person that’s ever called Cobalion by that cavalier name. The machine before him, and all its many brothers, do not respond. They do not care for human speak. They don’t care whether the creature they settle their gaze on is rocket or league.[break][break]
They’re all this thing’s enemies. Every last one of them. None of the people around him pay him any mind thanks to this new threat.[break][break]
“You got cranky in your old age.” It advances, both on Navy and the genuine article. The high azure blade glows, readying for an attack. “Come on, then.”[break][break]
Grendel shoots past him like a missile. They’re all coming from down below. Glowing tera crystals pulsate with life. They pull from the pool of fantasy, make the impossible possible. He’s been here before, fought something like this before.[break][break]
As was his instinct under Callan Young’s chamber, so is his instinct now. Navy urges his Pokemon to charge. Charge past everything. Charge, hopefully with Cobalion at his side. When he arrives at the chasm, a great avalanche and other barriers meet him. He rides that avalanche down.[break][break]
The winds shriek their rebuke. Grendel stays his course. Cobalion’s doppleganger follows. Batting him with a dragon rush, Grendel makes it loose its footing. Soon, the robot is buried under the ice. Down he flies. Down.[break][break]
“Yo, Baki. Melody.” He says over the frantic comms channels. He doubts Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki or Melody Miro will hear him, but he says sit anyway. “I’m going in. Into the chasm.”[break][break]
Dangerous, given how far away Kyle is.[break][break]
Another brave fool rides down into hell. Waving at priam conrad, Navy pulls Grendel closer to the grunt.[break][break]
“Fancy meeting you here.” His smile implies some private joke, his voice loud against the wind. “Wanna pool our suicide charges?”

Then, the golden ring. She doesn't have time to react before a hand grabs her from below and pulls her into the rift, tossing her out next to a horde of wild, violent machines. It's then Navy's voice crackles over the comm link. [break][break]

"Yo, Baki. Melody. I'm going in. Into the chasm."[break][break]

The noise turns the machine's attention on her. She curses under her breath, raising her hand and calling her Zorua's attention onto her. [break][break]
